Ducati Jawa Speedway Bike by Wreckless Motorcycles

- Rick of Wreckless Motorcycles had always inspired by speedway bikes of the 70's. So thought it was about time he and co-founder Ian built one.
Based around two old parts, a Ducati bevel engine and Jawa frame, with the rest either new or fabricated they created this very unique build.
Admittedly by Rick, it's more of a caricature of a speedway bike than a faithful replica, hence the features of handy things like brakes among other additions.
Nonetheless, it's an impressive build and certainly something you don't see often!

Hmmm, not sure about this one. If you're going to pay homage to speedway bikes then its the beautiful simplicity of them that should be celebrated. This is just a mess... And those petronas stickers...
Love big fan of speedway & Ducati.was one of my favourites at the show.
A "caricature" motorcycle... Functional art? I love it. First time hearing thatterm for me and it's makes perfect sense. Have loved the look of Speedway cycles since I was 12. To ride that about town... Way cool. Thanks for sharing.
grant kiba thanks mate, you’ve grasped the whole idea with this build 👍
That frame looks bent to me.
The bit between the oil filler cap and the headstock has a bow in it, this is an indication that the frame has been bent in a crash. As they said it's a used frame so there's no history on what's happened to it previously.
A bend in the frame in that position would push the forks and front wheel back towards the engine and decrease the amount of room for them to fit into. I'm wondering if that's why the forks were extended?
I would be interested to put that diamond into a jig to see just how much it's bent out of shape.
Those that know anything about engineering will absolutely love this fabulous project, superb!
That is gorgeous. I have miles of beautiful, smooth gravel road on my doorstep and am inspired. A road legal custom speedway gravel drifter... What a lovely idea.
Really love the bike. Too many corporate logos is detracting.
What a truly awesome bike. Very impressive indeed.
Wow so nice!
Great Motorcycle like to see it going flat out on a circuit some time.
It's a piece to look at. Is it so made that it can compete on a track as an equal with proper speedway bikes.
Would be brill to see it run at virtual or something like that.
Very nice job indeed. Kinda looks like it's been ridden into a wall, but yeah, lovely. 👌👍
Nice looking, but heavy and slow compared to a alcohol fueled high compression Speedway race engine from the 1970's.
Just beautiful
Wonderful build. Let it rip!!
Any questions about the build, post them in here and I’ll get back to you with answers / explanations! Cheers Rick @wreckless
Impressive.
Very interesting special. Would be nice to do with a BSA B50 engine, which has around the same dimensions as the 450 Ducati, but left side drive. A sprung grass-track frame may have been an easier basis for the build.
Love this bike!!!!!!
Im first!!! Those jawa engines are badass, I have been seeing them a lot lately on racing karts now. They have a special class for them and they will scoot!!!!!
It’s a 450 Ducati Engine ( not being “ smart “ - just saying.
Any idea where I could get the paint code for that blue? Looks killer and would be perfect colour for the tank on my scrambler build
Sam Lovatt I’m on the road at the moment Sam, but when I get back I’ll send you the RAL code (just can’t remember it off the top of my head)
@@richardgeall4793 That would be great thanks! Bike looks awesome!
@@samlovatt8669 its RAL 5018 Turquoise Blue
Oh dear . Tell me how you check the oil through the bevel glass??
Ruined a perfectly good frame and built something that has no purpose ? Apologies for being negative but at least build something that will get used... chunter chunter chunter....
I won't criticize the bike cause it's just not my thing, but it sounds pretty bad.
Now that’s COOL!!!
Daniel Sapp thanks mate, appreciate it
nice and shiny, won't be after the first race.
Nice build and lot of clever ideas to hide hardware you should not really see on these bikes
Shame they keep closing tracks, stokes gone and it's only a matter of time till the rest! Brilliant bike sad the sport it dying
Joseph Smith yep it’s a shame-proper old school hard core racers in that sport-flat track gaining popularity so perhaps some of the skills and characters won’t be lost completely
I miss the brick wall!
Eric the brick wall is reserved for regulars rides! As they ride in.
@@BikeShedMotoCo Hadn't noticed! See the bikes better with the brick background!
that, young man........was a small bit boring. Sorry.
Don’t be sorry John, it’s all about opinions - thanks for calling me young man tho, appreciate it! 👍
But no license plate and lights? That would be the only point if you ask me....just t plow minds pulling up to a bike meet causing massive WTF? reaction

There’s Only Jawa And GM Who Make Speedway Bikes Not Ducati!
Should have said dirtquake
Oh lord, ugliest bike I have ever seen!
Kalian bisa nyebut merek jawa...tapi nyebut pulau jawa jadi java...
Трррррррр?????
此のバイクは、飾り物ですか? ダートを走る⁉️のにエアークリーナー?が無い‼️
ビリージョエルに、怒られる😣💦⤵️
Why a tribute to LH?? He is nowhere nearly as skilled as any speedway rider, quite the opposite. Also, his woke left attitude and hypocrisy is astoundingly sad. Not impressed, not subbing, no thumbs up.
