I've been living in the dark for so long because I didn't know how to change my lightbulb thanks
Lmao same!
Yooo me 2 !!
😆 🤣. Mine is changed but hanging. It's very difficult to put it back. Don't know why
Been living with an epileptic light for a while
And God said let there be light. This was so helpful.
A good thing to do when you take the cover off is to clean with a damp paper towel, and then dry it afterwards before you put it back up there. You want to make sure its clean so that you get the brightest light.
Absolutely! 💯💡
I have been delaying it and making do with blinking when I was changing it thanks to your video that it helped me in getting it done or else I was about to hang holding. It would have resulted in either the dome being broken or me being injured. Thanks to you it was easily done
I searched "how to remove a boob light" and here i am!
same 😭
I said tittie light 💡 😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
you are sick
Never knew it was that easy my closet is so big we use it as a guest room but we kept the light on on accident and it burnt out so now we don’t have a guestroom anymore so I’m very grateful we found this video
Hi Olive- Yeah, it’s super easy!
Thank you. Since my dad passed I’ve trying to figure out stuff like this.
Mine passed away on September 22 of 21. That’s why I’m here too!!! I’m sorry to hear about your loss… I know how you feel.
Thankful for this video!! Being dyslexic has directional challenges. 🥴😔 I struggled piecing the acorn nut and locking hardware back together! Never knew the hardware had names🤨 After watching your video I did a happy dance 🤣
Thank you so much. I was struggling to get this cover off. Your video made it simple. Let there be light.
🤣 💡
This was such a huge help man I’m glad I found this
Happy to help!!
@@BJPoznecki i need your help. The "electricians" jimmy rigged my light fixtures. I cannot get to the bulbs at all
@@chelechele3079 I could help
Did you fix it yet
Thanks for clearly explaining. Great help for me to change the bulb in closet in newly rented house.
My pleasure Anil, happy to help!

Yay!! I am so thankful for this video. I was doing it all wrong
Thx man, for some reason I didn’t know how to do this😂
😆 Anytime I got you bro!
Thank you for making this
My pleasure. I’m glad it was helpful!
Great video!
Thank you so much you were a very big help for me
Thank you for producing a good video and your explanation. I tried to loosen it with a small lid gripper first with no effect.. Turns out mine needed a slip grip. Then it turned out, this fixture only had one bulb, it looked like one was out. Getting it back on is tough. I'll have to get a taller ladder.
Thank you brother
Thanks man. Crisp and very helpful video. No BS.
My pleasure thank you for the compliment!
Helpful thank you!
My pleasure!!
This helped me oh a lot, thank you 😊
Thank you for the help😊

@@BJPoznecki how do i remove the security latch?
@@MikeSoCool123-t6q I’m sorry I don’t know. I’ve never seen a light fixture with a security latch.
For some reason my acorn thing it really tight
bro same idk how to fix it
I also had this issue. I just went to grab a 6-inch slip-joint pliers from Walmart for 5 bucks and that unscrewed it easily.
helpful!
Thank you, thank you, thank you
You’re welcome, You’re welcome, You’re welcome!!
YAY THANKS MY DUDE!

THANK YOU BROTHER
My pleasure I hope the video was helpful!
Hey BJ! When I unscrew the acorn nut the entire fixture (base+shade) slides off of the rod, and is only attached to the ceiling by wires. The glass does not separate from the base so I can’t access the bulb. If I look through the hole on the shade where the acorn not comes off and where the rod travels through, it’s an enclosed, plastic tunnel. Any ideas on what to do?
Buy a new house
Did you find any solution? I am facing the same problem here and can’t figure it out.
Same here any luck?
Same! 😑
Same
Thank you.
I have this type of lamp and was stuck for weeks because the glass dome was not coming down. I tried everything until I found this video. I exerted a bit of force to pull the dome down and it came out.
Thanks again
My pleasure happy to help!
Thank you so much for this video! The electrician did not install the lock nut on any of our flush mount fixtures so we are unable to change them! 😢 Help!
I could not remove glass. Realized the tiny thin nut was supporting the fixture between the acorn nut and collar. Removed it with a pliers and was then able to remove the dome
The hardest part is trying to put the dome back on
Yes it can be. The easiest way to do it is be sure you have a high enough ladder, so you’re working comfortably.
Then with one hand hold the dome in place, while you screw on the nut with your other hand.
Hope that helps!
@@BJPoznecki well I did that, and a day later it all came down crushing. Fortunately I was not under it at the moment. Now, I am scared to change the bulds throughout the house. Renting and all light fixtures are the same. 😥🙄🥴
@@margmak6234 Sorry to hear! Since you had a difficult time with the first one I would just reach out to your landlord or property manager explaining to them the situation, and ask them if they could have somebody come over and change out all the lightbulbs in the home.
these are such simple lights, yet if not careful you can break the glass....
Who else had to look up nipple light bulb
Hi. Any suggestions on how to get the that first piece off. I was able to change one light fixture but another one I have the bottomed piece is on extremely tight so I can't unscrew it to replace bulb. Would appreciate any help
If it’s on really tight you may need a pliers or channel locks to unloosen it.
Hey...can you tell me what kind of bulb usually goes in that dome light?
There’s many different style of dome lights, however most of them just need a standard screw in a lightbulb.
Your best bet is to take a bulb that’s in the fixture with you to the store so they can match it.
There’s usually two or three lightbulbs be sure change them all out to save you the hassle of one of the other bulbs burning out after you were just up there.
gracias
De nada!
Not able loosen , a spring kind of thing pulls from inside may be its stuck
Always read the info stamp on LED bulbs most are not to be put in ENCLOSED light fixtures
So I’m not the only one who searched “How to change booblight bulb.”😂
I guess not. I’m starting to think I should change the title of the video! 🤣
👍
mine the whole thing got off,not just the white cover. so i still cant access to the bulb!
What if the little thing you have to unscrew first is supper tight ??😟
You will need a pair of pliers to unloosen it.
My shade won’t come off and it looks like the same one on this video. Any tips?
Hi Josh- When you’re looking up at it from the ladder try gently turning the shade counter clockwise. If you don’t see any fastening hardware on a light fixture shade typically they have a slot style system where they screw and unscrew.
Try that and let me know how it goes?
Do you have one where you install this one; someone removed mine, and I would like to put it back to have light in my living room.
I’m sorry I don’t have a video yet. I will put it on my to do list!
@@BJPoznecki No need to apologize; I appreciate the time you've taken out of your day to respond, I will be looking forward to seeing it once the video becomes live/available.
Hello. Be very careful when tightening the bitoniau! That the glass does not break? By changing your bulbs? Would it be a shame if the basin was broken or cracked?
Yes, you are correct. Do not over tighten or use any tools as you may crack and break the glass shade.
The screw is stuck badly...won’t come off with a wrench. Any tips?
Text me a picture or video so I can see where you’re having a problem?
Text, email, WhatsApp whatever is easiest for you my number is 773-403-3298 I’m here in the US or you can email me at wpoznecki@yahoo.com
I can’t get the acorn screwed back on. What am I doing wrong?
If your having a hard time getting the acorn nut back on, more than likely the threaded rod is stripped or cross threaded, and needs to be replaced.
I'm a first time home buyer and I have these lights. But my thing on the bottom doesn't have the little know. I don't know hoe to get it off. Can you help me?
Hi Stephanie- If you don’t have a nut or decorative piece that acts as a nut, your fixture may be the turn to remove style.
Take 2 hands and “gently” turn the glass shade counter clockwise and see if it unscrews from the actual fixture.
Let me know if that works?
I am having a problem with the stem in the middle. For some reason it has gotten shorter and I can't get the knob to screw back on. Help!
Hi Mickey- You have to loosen which will lengthen the stem / threaded rod and you’ll be able to get the knob back on.
Hope that helps!
@@BJPoznecki Thanks for the reply. I had to adjust the nut on the other side of the stem.
@@mickeyc3096 🤦🏻♂️ Sorry, forgot to say it could be a lock nut as well. Happy to hear mission accomplished!!
I had the same problem and I’d been trying for the past few days. Have I ever thought that I could lengthen the rod. Thank you so much!
i gotta square one...any show how to change that lol
how to unscrew if it is too tight
these boob lights are the worst! i really need to get around changing the light fixtures around my house
so if you replace both bulbs, will the light be too bright if it’s in a smaller space?
Well you could always get lower wattage bulbs, or install a dimmer switch.
@@BJPoznecki ok, thanks so much for the help!
@@sophia-by8jb
My pleasure!
Put in two 40W bulbs.
So the shade still won’t come off... I took the acorn nut off!! The shade just keep turning...
A lot of these light fixtures come with multiple nuts on the threaded rod. Look to see if there is another nut that needs to be removed to take the shade off.
If you’re still having difficulty I would hire a handyman this one time to show you how to take it off so you know how to do it in the future.
Mines is so tight 🥺 I can’t change my light bulb it been 2 mons in the darkness lol
Sorry to hear! You will need a pair of pliers to loosen the acorn nut to take everything apart.
Mine is an outside side fixture withno screws
thewhole thing came off the ceiling..?
The nut is way too tight. I tried a wrench and it won't budge. Any ideas?
Your light fixture might not be the same if that nut at the bottom won’t loosen. It’s possible you have the style where you have to grab the whole light shade and turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
Im not getting a good grip on the nipple thing. Don't what its called. Is there a tool for this??
No special tool needed just a pair of pliers.
Not all come out that way… looking for those weird fixtures that don’t just drop with loosing the nut
My acorn nut won’t come off
Edit: never mind I needed pliers and now my lightbulbs are good and working
The whole thing comes off for me. I cannot separate it
My light bulb isn’t on the ceiling it’s inside the glass part. How do I get to the bulb?
Allive Bell Unfortunately it’s hard to say because there’s so many different variations of light fixtures. You might have a fixture that has an enclosed LED bulb or light kit that actually can’t be changed out and you need to replace the whole fixture?
For some reason when I unscrew the nut the whole thing comes out instead of just the glass comin out
Hi Chu Chu- That’s because somebody originally installed it incorrectly.
Same with me;
Is there any way to take the glass part out or any tips
I know this is an old video but hoping you will see this comment! HELP! I was able to remove the dome but the post came out also. There is nothing to hold the post. When I put it in the hole it just turns. There is nothing in the hole holding that post. Please help! Thank you!!
You have to take the whole fixture down and on the back side there will be a nut that you’ll need to put back on the post.
I can't get it off at all , won't unscrew , I've tried while using rubber gloves & nothing it won't budge
Try using a pliers, or it’s possible that your style light fixture comes off by turning the actual shade counter clockwise and comes off all in one piece.
You can do this with the power on? Why have I heard you need it off?
Edit: oh, touching the glass is safe but touching the wires is what hurts
Yeah, we’ll the glass might be hot depending on what kind of bulbs are in there. However, if you feel more comfortable, just turn the light switch off so there’s no live power at the light fixture.
Help. The nut won’t turn
K still can’t do it mine won’t coke off
I’m scared mine is gonna have some spiders in it
My screw came out at the inside due to the acorn not wanting to turn lol it was a bitch getting it lined up and back in. There's only one bulb and the part that takes the screw is right next to it. Who designs these things????
Mine keeps spinning and the screw won’t come off. Help?
If you can try using a needle nose pliers to hold the screw or threaded rod in place why you try to unscrew the acorn nut. Otherwise if it’s stripped or there’s a nut that you can’t remove to take the glass off, you may have to break the glass so you can get inside there, and then just have to buy a new glass shade or light fixture.
My previous home owner painted the fixture shut -_-
Yeah that’s common after multiple coats it starts to build up. Take a utility knife and cut the paint between the ceiling and the light fixture where they meet.
What if it’s not using an acorn nut
If there is no acorn corn nut it may be whatever decorative piece is holding the light shade to the fixture.
@@BJPoznecki We were able to figure it out in the end, although it wasn’t an acorn nut, we were still able to unscrew it.
@@Joel_Fish Excellent good to hear.
Wishing you guys a Merry Christmas
🎅🎄❄️
There’s always this flee like bug that falls from there when removing it💀
Yeah the 🐜 like the 💡🤷🏻♂️
Won't I get elercuted????
Not if you turn the switch and circuit breaker off.
My screw it too tight it won’t undo
Try a pair of pliers that should do the trick!
oh it just uses normal bulbs ok
Mine is too tight
Your light fixture might not be the same if that nut at the bottom won’t loosen. It’s possible you have the style where you have to grab the whole light shade and turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
I need help. The workers that installed these lights in my basement must have done them all wrong.
I would call the electricians that installed them and have them come back and correct their work. Otherwise I would recommend hiring an electrician or handyman to correct them.
