@@CorZ1lla yea, if you want to push this deck in a more CEDH direction you'd cut a few lands and a couple other cards for the really OP mana cards, mox diamond / chrome, jeweled lotus etc.
I have to say, without spoilers, that long complicated turns help me learn so much and I’m having fun watching. That said, i did notice this video is shorter than usual.
The Mizzix's Mastery was handled a little incorrectly. Since Electrostatic Field and Urabrask are both cast triggers, they should have had their triggers resolve after the spells were all simultaneously put on the stack, BEFORE anything resolved. In addition, the Cathartic Reunion should have had its costs paid upon putting the spell on the stack (not after the Reverberate resolution), meaning the cards drawn from the copy of Cathartic Reunion can't be discarded to pay the additional cost.
i love those type of decks where all the cards just synergize so well that something like what happened in this game, happens. and its not that they are in the deck just as part of a combo... sometimes the cards just fall perfectly to go off on turn 5. beautiful!!!
Totally not over too soon :D ok that was ironic. Would love to see a rematch to get a glimpse of what the other decks do. But the design of Urabrask doesn’t leave too many options to build the deck, it’s combo galore.
I do so love how CGB has conditioned all his friends with his catchphrases. I wonder if they ever hear the lead in to one of the phrases and automatically respond to it in public.
It didn't really matter at the end, but be mindful of how you handle Storm guys. Spells with Storm copy themselves on cast, not when they resolve, so the counter should have been lower for at least one of them.
I will say that they upped strom count but still did the correct amount of damage, as they counted the original spell as a copy so they upped to strom 14 and did 14 damage
That was sick! I’m always here for the storm decks, and that Urabrask storm deck was insane! Now I have to build it! Also, the link to Blake’s deck is for last week’s game - fyi. Thanks!
If you guys are in Minneapolis on Thursday, at 5Pm at the Issues needed comics in Apple Valley, MN they host a commander night. I'll be there and hopefully see some Mahic Con folks early
17:05 Game officially Ends 🤣 And yes I was happy to watch Blake Combo off like that.. I could have sat here in my chair for another 10 minutes at least of spell after spell just how glorious it was to see that go off lmao. And Turn 5 LMAO.. So great.
Yea certainly, I built the deck to not be cedh, but when someone mills you a bunch for mizzix mastery and people ramp for your mana geyser you can have some gross turns earlier than normal
I love red, I love Urabrask, and spoiler alert, I love the fact that I got to see my favorite red Praetor pop off and do incredibly powerful and cool things. Thanks for the quick and crazy game Blake!
kinda random but the way Blake shuffles his deck so quickly and cleanly at 20:09 is awesome, I've been trying to practice it because it seems so much faster than my usual method but no luck, does that shuffle technique have a name by any chance?
I appreciate he knew his cards really well, so there were no dithering delays in the pop-off, but that turn brought back every unpleasant memory I have of playing Type I competitively. A lot of interesting looking decks on display. Was surprised that Sheoldred didn’t end up running area with it like everyone else. I did, however, learn there are in fact worse things out there than the Orzhov Removal-Piles-with-some-Vampires my little Green heart curses so often on Fridays, so thanks for that horrifying glimpse of Worse! ;)
As a Johnny player at heart, this was easily my favourite game of Blake’s watched yet. Huge commendations to everyone else for being so fun about it! It was a joy to behold! 🌸
Since I watched several videos about Urabrask decks, I thought on building a storm deck. One of the first days I played it with the few things I had, I played against a Baral deck and I lost because I didn't have red/pyro blast and he mocked me for not having them. Now I have all of that plus Tibalt's trickery and now Baral is no longer a problem ;) Long live the best praetor Urabrask
"Don't think Ive Land Taxed this hard since the Ice Age". Like the kids say, I felt this SO HARD! Had already felt warm n fuzzy seeing the 95-96 Era print of LT. LIVE IT
Minor rules quibble for Blake: you cast cathartic reunion when you resolved mizzix's mastery, not when you resolved the reunion. You should have discarded 2 upon resolution of mastery.
Well, storm is unbearable (as we all knew already), and the worst way to spend a commander night. However; Blake, your articulation and understanding of triggers/the stack made it almost bearable to see! (Seriously though, well done)
When someone i play with casts an Mizzix Mastery with a full graveyard, they can play until they miss a trigger or make a mistake. If they do so they have to end their turn. So everybody has to watch what is happening and is still excited to spot a Mistake. Usually when Mizzix Mastery is cast it has a big impact, but nobody wants to resolve the stack or watch what happens.
That game was awesome :D. Right now the Ura is one of the 99 in my fresh burn deck. I might change him to commander xD. P.S. The Decklist for Ben has the wrong link. Right now it links to: Borborygmos and Fblthp (Worst Possible Borby)
That was f@#£ing nuts!!!!! Nice one Blake. I was sure Shae was going to take the W this time. Mizzix's Mastery is so f@#£ed up!!!!!! And didn't even need the extra turn. Bonkers.

@@joshoa90210 Very true. I just pulled out a bunch of common/uncommon foils from when I got a couple of commander legends boxes and they look like pringles.
Well that was....something. Kind of disappointing to not get to see the other 3 decks shine or do anything really. I mean I figured from the short video it meant Blake was going to win as he is always going for the kill at all times. Still entertaining for sure, just hope to see elesh norn and vorinclex do something next time.
I'd love to know how long this game took start to finish. XD GG, Blake. You did Urabrask proud, while all the Control Mages look down on you! BAD, BLAKE!
Sometimes, things happen and games are quick. I prefer games getting to at least turn 6, and usually to turn 10. But, sometimes, even casual commander games are quick.
I wonder if Blake would have won if the shuffles had turned out differently. I have won games against Urabrask, but if I don't eliminate a Sheoldred or Norn immediately I have a 0% win rate. Still a great win for the man with the zerg tat
It didnt bother me that it ended fast rather it made the usually 1 hour video less of a “do i have time question” and what made it better also was the usual talk after the game and it didnt feel abrupt because of it

That turn was like 1/3 of the episode. Amazing. Urabrask finally gets to be best praetor
Nice! Thanks for sharing ✌🏼
The best storm turn I've seen, well articulated and easy to understand too. What a treat!
I totally agree, what a smooth explanation of what was happening
Yeah the editing in this series is spot on. A lot of the searching and recalculating and such are cut out so you get a nice correct flow of the game.
Ben looked like he was cooking something over there... and proceeded to make a food token on his very next turn. Very intuitive of Shea!

Less than six minutes in and we got an MtG Remy reference. I love it.
How many spells can you cast this turn?
Blake: Yes
That was amazing. Love that it does not have fast mana...and just waited it out for the perfect strike
That was sick! I’m always here for the storm decks, and that Urabrask storm deck was insane! Now I have to build it! Also, the link to Blake’s deck is for last week’s game - fyi. Thanks!
Storm is why I quit of competitive. It isn't fun when other players only watch one doing stuff for 30 minutes. :/

@@BlakeMTG Yeah, diffently a deck that aetherflux reservoir can be a win con in. Though sometimes it feels like win more.
In my experience there are better win cons than aetherflux, Fluxing 3 people can be tough outside of pure cedh and it’s pretty vulnerable
I really like the design of these new Praetors. Kind of surprised to not see Jin, but very glad to see Urabrask get a turn to do some work!
Awesome game. I'm sure not everyone wants to sit down across from such a menace, but it was fun to see it pop off the way it did at least once!

The animation for the stack was fun

Normally I would say that the game ended too soon, but seriously that was so fun to watch. Probably not that fun to play against thought 😅
Seems like Urabrask is gonna be a problem for the casual commander communities. We'll see if the masses call for a ban hammer.

What a short game lol, this is why blue is healthy for the format
Or why more colours should have stack interaction.

I like to think the new intro/outro group quotes were thought up by CGB and everyone else hates to go along with it
Imagine designing Urabrask and thinking it’s not absolutely OP
Its to make up for him being so lame for his last two cards
And then you realise as strong as he is he is still a worse version of Birgi who is strong enough to go head to head with the best cEDH decks.
It’s birgi with built-in extra burn
