The number of pistons, pressure plates and redstone dust shown at the beginning is wrong. It's 4 pistons for the trident killer, 4x2 pistons in the first pusher level, 2x2+2x4 in the second pusher level and 4x2 in the last level, that's 4+8+12+8=32 pistons, therefore also 28 pressure plates and 56 redstone dust.

UPDATE: for anyone having spawning issues, I had the same thing. All I did was put torches on the spanner and then save and quit, reloaded the world and got rid of the torches and everything started working great 👍 no issues since. Hope this helps

Instead of clear visual cues youll get constant war with hostile mobs and his work basically triples. Yeah, seems like a great idea
I have a farm idea
It works as follows:
Villager will farm potatoes and try to give to another villager but hopper take all those potatoes and transfer it to smoker and potatoes will get cooked and get transferred to chest from a hopper
Why is it better than your farm: You don't have to farm potatoes after removing those.
Give exp and cooked potatoes while you are afk .
Make a giant bamboo farm and a giant kelp farm. Have the kelp and bamboo into a super smelter. The bamboo is used as fuel, and the kelp gets smelted. You can then afk and you can use the dried kelp to make dried kelp blocks which can be used as fuel somewhere else. You get xp, bamboo, kelp, and dried kelp

Not on Bedrock he can't - the shulkers only duplicate on Java.
That's a java exclusive feature
Also need a chunk loader, something else not available on bedrock.
I just finished taking out my old version with coral fans, and have rebuilt it with pistons. The solid block I used is clear glass, but running it for a while, I think tinted glass would be better. The Blazes float around watching me with clear glass. If I would have used tinted glass, then they couldn't see me and ought to drift down to the kill chamber quicker. Either way, a great improvement to the blaze farm. Thank you!

I usually don't comment but this is such a godsend to find. I have a modded world and the mods in the pack make it so that the lava flow is so much shorter, making the simple farms not work since it doesn't reach to push the blazes. THANK YOU 🙏
You actually don't need to take solid blocks with you. You can just use the nether brick blocks you get when you mine below the spawner :)
You should make a video of 1.16 farms that still work in 1.17
Tried this on my vanilla server in 1.18. The trident disappeared after testing out the pistons. I don't know if it broke or what, but it didn't get sucked up by the hopper nor was in my inventory. Also, the pistons fired much faster than in the video. Kinda bummed. Spent 4 nights farming for that trident.
It was a temporary glitch in early 1.18 and I lost the tridents in all my farms but they patched it

Question: why do you make your trident killer differently in this build, using 8 observers, instead of 4 observers with redstone torches?
Killer with torches are much faster than 8 observer
You want a slower trident killer with blazes cuz the jump up when hit them, too fast of a killer (for example with powered rAils or torches) and they just hop a lot with getting dmg
your farms are great, the one issue i have is the block counts are off. you need 32 pistons and 32 pressure plates for this farm. if you could fix these in the future it would be great! either way keep up the great work 👍

Hardest part was finding the dang blaze farm. After many... many deaths I reccomend peaceful mode while exploring. Also too for those of us in survival I would suggest trying to build this backwards as it can be difficult getting the outside and top. So ill be trying to build this in reverse.
Building that in survival will be a hell of a task

Edit: This works beautifully I just went from level 26-37 while I stepped away for like 15 minutes. Also as someone who has never even touched red stone before, this was actually pretty easy to build. Thanks man!!

The design works great! got my first full stack of blaze rods :) Building the thing surrounded by lava was slightly unnerving in survival mode. Sometimes i wish these tutorials would be built not in creative mode.
It's much more easiert to teach and learn whilst in creative
Thank you Jc. I've made a bunch of your farms in my survival game and it's helped a lot. And while making this blaze farm I had the pistons push me into the middle and had to mine my way out multiple times lol. Edit- made this farm on 1.19.1 bedrock on my xbox and works perfect.

Just a little tip guys if this stops working save and exit your world then go back on your world it should fix it cause I had them not spawning and it was set to easy for me
hopefully this works for me. built it and it was working fine then suddenly it didn't spawn anything else. possibly because me and others were playing as it's a realm, or it was the glitch thats been happening recently where mobs stop spawning.
Still works in 2024, also you can put powdered snow right above the trident killer if your blazes keep levitating up from it

Good tutorial, but you’ve done this to me twice jason.
Your block count is wrong and my fortress is miles away from the portal, so I’m doing the build only to realise that I don’t have a Enough pistons etc.

Potion of night vision I guess, max out at 8 min per bottle. Use drip stone and cauldrons to make infinite potions so you only need to brew it once…
This is awesome. Your previous blaze farm was already incredible but it was so problematic when my blazes just wouldn't fall down on their own. This gives them just the "push" they needed to die.

@@roxstar4848 that means killing enderdragon like what speedrunners do, but most of them are of java edition, and we cant do like that on bedrock, so i asked how to kill enderdragon without destroying endcrystals and using beds very quickly
You could watch bedrock speedruns.

not sure if it works in bedrock, as i play java, but you can actually use lava to get blazes into the killing chambers, by making a 10x10 platform, lava perfectly flows from the corners and ends before the 2x2 enterance, and they fall down as they dont float because they are not aggro'd

I think a simple ceiling of transparent blocks should work.

@@Chigger dude it's the nether it's like night time always so even if the ceiling is not covered mobs spawners still work

I just made this, but had to make one simple change, I had to add a hopper under all 4 sections and had 3 of them all going into the one with the minecart. It works amazing for both an xp farm and a blaze rod farm. It was a little bit harder to make in survival mode oppose to creative. I suggest using scaffolding to go up and down, and I used dirt blocks as temporary blocks. I also waited until the very end before I put in the trident and completed the square at the bottom because I kept falling inside lol

I can’t tell you how difficult it was to make this in survival without changing the settings to peaceful but I was finally able to do it and with the notes from the comments about the number of items to bring, I finally have a great XP/Blaze farm. Gotta say as a Bedrock player, thank you!
Bro i legit almost died doing this, i fell in lava and, the pillars saved me, i went there placed blocks around so if i die my items dont fall in lava, and yea
Found 2 blaze spawner right next to each other, did this for both and made a continuous mine cart loop between them. I can set my controller down at level zero and pick it back up at level 30+ within a few minutes
How many blocks need to be cleared above the spawner?
This works (including the trident killer) in today's 1.17.40 update. I found that when I turn the trident killer on, some of the blazes fly up a short distance so they cannot be harmed. They do come back down but sometimes it takes longer to kill all of them.
Doesn't seem to be working for me I've afked at it for almost an hour and it isn't working. No spawns from blaze at all
i end up with like a hundred blaze alive after afk in the hole because they wont die

Thx JC I recently lost my 9 year old survival world due to the Xbox update disaster and am trying to rebuild.
Your trident farms were the first ones I had ever built and looked you up to see if there were any different ones. I put the new tinted glass on the bottom of the killer so can watch the chaos in action and some vines in the kill chamber to stop them floating. It’s now called the pinball killer. I love it.
Don’t blazes get stuck on the piston Redstone? If so replace bottom Redstone with observer.
The blazes don't get stuck in this farm.

I often feel like the over explanation can be annoying, but in reality he takes his time and explains things THOROUGHLY, so it's difficult to misinterpret. I feel this is especially important for people whose first language isn't English.

Hey guys. If you want to save observers in the trident killer, you don't need those corner observers. Just place 4 Redstone torches of the piston side and that also works fine with just half observers.

It works well for me, unfortunatly if i get deconnected from server or log out near the trident killer i will be spawned in the trident killer next time logging in. Die each time, thinking it has to do with the pistons becaue I have zero issue with any other trident killer farms. Im looking for a certain block that will prevent me from being "pushed" through the wall and still allow XP collection.
Btw does the trident killer still work in the latest version? Do you get xp when it kills mobs?
The blazes in that spawner probably freaking out in there because they are hearing him talk about pistons and tridents 😅

Not sure if necessary but I also slabbed off nearby areas to try and help the rates. Will also cover this contraption in a protective barrier which will be slabbed to prevent ghasts from destroying the circuits

Question: at the bottom, you use 4 solid blocks and a minecart+hopper to collect the rods. Can you just use 4 Hoppers instead?
You actually can't and thats because hoppers can't collect items through a solid block and minecart hoppers on the other hand can. I know its a weird mechanic....

I would keep the trident killer on all the time unless you leave the world. So blazes don't pile up at the bottom causing lag. Then again, the XP from the trident would pile up causing lag too.
The blazes should despawn when you go far away from the farm.

Just bring a few more blocks and have gapples and at least 1 piece fire prot armour.
Just bring some fire resistance. I always bring at least 10 fire resistance and a shulker box full of totems in the nether.
