You could put berry bushes under carpets for a very easy Mob-Proof entrance-way! Mobs avoid walking into berry bushes cause they can cause damage, and they don’t realize carpets prevent them from touching one!
Ironically, I love how dangerous your base has become; an ecosystem of sorts. It kinda has its own lore at a certain point. Also, giving the mobs you encountered some personality makes the experience a bit more alive & personal.

to make the sugarcane farm more efficent, you could replace the block it's on with mud, as mud is not a "full" block, the items can pass through to hoppers beneath it, rather than next to it. also closing it off would prevent the sugarcane from getting stuck on top of the pistons, as well as changing the glass panes to full glass blocks. great video :D
