Hi Garden Friends! I hope you enjoy this transformation of our backyard garden. I have the following playlist that has all of the videos related to this new garden. Thank you so much for watching, and hope you all have a wonderful week! -Steph 🌱ua-cam.com/play/PLLIVyX7Y1HGGVkoCot1iHPgPAE50GcATl.html&si=4HU4eqjnZ-o3PMe2 Here's my Amazon Store Where You Can Find Many of My Favorite Garden Items 👉 amzn.to/49F9RTU
Please get George what ever kind of gloves he wants NOW! No need to wait for a "special ocassion" to justify the purchase, just get them because he needs them now and you love him. The transformation was nice to see with all the steps involved. Sometimes people do not realize how hard gardening can be. You two work well together. I love watching your garden grow.
George does such a good job explaining the reasoning behind what he is doing and then showing the actual work. It looks so good. He seems to really enjoy spending time in the garden..mission accomplished, Steph!
The work George does is so meticulous! Nice job! And that it came together slowly over time is such an incentive to dream of my own special place in the garden.
I have been waiting for this video for so long.. it is absolutely amazing! GEORGE is the man! That was some hard work George, you should definitely be very proud of what you’ve done. Patience and persistence paid off ! The maples, the other plantings, the cobblestone, the pathway AND drainage are just beautiful! I was looking to see where the pagoda moved to after you got your mini boulder in there! Steph, you are definitely blessed! & your work as well has paid off also. Great job you two! Can’t wait to watch and see how everything looks during 2024’s season! You guys are among my favorite garden channels on YT. Thank you for sharing with us! 😊♥️
Hi Stacey! Thank you so very much for your kind words. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Yes, it was a lot of hard work. But also so rewarding, and fun to do together. Lol the mini pagoda is currently overwintering in the shed. We bring in our little yard statues into the shed to keep them from cracking etc in the cold weather. I would love to get a bigger one at some point, I love the little pagoda. The stone was a great addition to the garden, George's persistence to move it paid off. Thank you so much for watching our videos, and for your wonderful comments. So glad to have you along 💚🥰
Been looking for ideas for a Hummingbird garden this is Way inspiring I'll be doing much much smaller but this is so Striking that's some majr labor 👍😅 beautiful
Dang, George! You’re definitely the work horse of that garden! It’s beautiful and you’ve done an amazing back breaking job! I know you must be so proud!
This is absolutely gorgeous! A TON of work but the payoff is so stunning! I live in what has always in my gardening life a done 4b.. southern MN and they recently moved us to 5a and would so love to try a Japanese Maple but am just a bit gun shy to pull that trigger yet. A Japanese Maple is an investment so I think I need to think about it and plan a space that would be perfect for it! Thank you for a video that was so informative!!!
Wow. Everyone needs a George around. That was labor intensive… great job! I can’t even get my husband to dig a hole. As a woman who has CFS, I’m proud to say I transformed my entire garden by myself. From lifting & placing rocks, laying pavers, digging, planting, transplanting & creating beds. My husband just enjoys my hard-work. So count your blessings Steph. You have a great man!
George is crazy talented and his attention to detail and patience is unmatched. I bet you guys love this space the most after dedicating so much time, effort and energy to the gorgeous garden bed.
This is absolutely amazing and I love seeing a realistic timeframe for a major DIY project to be completed. It’s such an inspiration and a gorgeous result. Thank you for bringing us along for the transformation.
Thank you so much Sarah! I really wanted to show that part, that it takes time. When I was a newer gardener it wasn't so obvious that beautiful gardens take time to make and to mature. This often times makes the decision to start planting intimidating. My goal was to provide inspiration and encouragement. Thank you so much for your kind comment 💚🥰
The before and after is amazing.... It makes me wish my husband and I were younger.... So we could DIY more than we do. But so thankful that we are able to pace ourselves to do a little every year. Your video shows me we will get there. Lol. I love your maples.
George does fantastic stone work and he has a good strong back. Beautiful garden, I also love the combinations of Japanese maples and other plants. Great job to the both of you.
George is such a hard worker! I love that you shared a real-life timeline. Sometimes projects take years and that's okay! Especially with kids and budgets. I can't wait to see the garden come to life in spring. 😊
Hi Steph! He really is, we are lucky to have him. I try to share the realistic expectations of how long it takes to create gardens, especially when we do all of it ourselves in an effort to save money. It can be done, but takes time. The outcome is well worth it. Thank you so much for your comment, and for watching. We're almost there!! Only 21 more days until spring. The feeling is already in the air 💚🌱
That was amazing to watch George. Who knew that a couple of Japanese Maples given as a gift would draw out of you so much interest, time and attention to all the needs necessary to create one of the nicest Japanese Maple gardens I've ever seen. Beautiful and masterful.
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉 Your Garden is such a thing of Beauty 😊 I subscribed to your channel.. Will definitely be coming back for more 🙏 Many blessings to you and your family
Great job! What a transformation. Thank for showing us how you created it. I found the French drain info very helpful as we have drainage issues in our yard too. I look forward to more of your videos!
The garden looks great. George did an amazing job and I like that you showed how with a bit of patience, you can get the material for a fraction of the cost.
Steph and George you made such an amazing transformation and I love seeing capable gardeners doing the hard work themselves instead of always hiring someone to do it. You must be so proud of your garden. Bonny
Hi from Faiehope Alabama Steph & George! What a beautiful job! I’ve been watching you for a couple of years & enjoy your channel so much! George is a natural on camera and in the garden! It’s 70 here today and I’m resisting the urge to run to the nursery! Happy Saturday! Ann Marie
Hi Ann-Marie! Thank you so very much for watching us since the beginning and for your kind words, we appreciate you being here. 💚 He really is so helpful, handy & handsome, I'm a lucky girl 🥰 Running to the nursery is always a good idea. I Have never been sad/bored/unhappy looking at plants 🌱😀Have a great weekend!!
The transformation of the play area into the Japanese maple garden was amazing! George thought through all the steps of the project, and he worked so hard to complete it. Yes, definitely add some stones at the little drainage pipe exit. That Japanese maple garden looked so stunning in the fall in front of all the woodland trees! You guys did a great job! I enjoyed seeing all the parts of the project in one video, even though I had seen bits and pieces in the course of your other videos.
Hi Stef 🌺 George did an excellent work and you arranged the plants beautifully in the garden . Your garden is the most beautiful garden in the world . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
WOW WOW WOW STEPH & GEORGE the project turned out BEAUTIFULLY with all the BEAUTFUL MAPLES and plantings. great vid, sweet pictures before & after. Thank you both for sharing🍃🌱🌞
I absolutely love your gorgeous garden! I can’t wait to see it transform into spring and summer this year! You have given me an idea to make a cobblestone pathway into my new refurbished garden area! Thank you for sharing again! We love your garden Channel!🌺🌸🌷🪴🌻 Here’s to spring...24 days! 🙌🏼🌈
@@HookedandRooted That will be my summer project! I have already started to search on marketplace for cobblestones low priced on a regular basis! I have expanded my garden in the backyard and incorporated an arch and I need a beautiful pathway from my backyard gate to the garden! I’m still hoping you will be able to show us how to sow seeds for pink Gomphrenas. I wonder if they could be sown directly into the garden after the frost is gone?
Wow! This video was very good at instructing step by step how we can do this ourselves. Both you and George do an excellent job at speaking slowly and clearly so we can follow along!
George is such a hard worker and he has a very strong back, and he is very knowledgeable..... need a George in my garden!!!! I love watching the progress as your garden grows.😊

You two have done such a beautiful job and all on your own. George has some very impressive hardscaping skills! Well done! I Love watching your videos!
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so very much!! He is pretty handy. I think he gets the skill from his dad who passed a long time ago, but happened to be a stone mason 💚

Thank you for not adding music over the top. I much prefer the sounds of nature & even the sounds of work to artificial music stuck in.
It’s inspiring to see how well you two compliment each other. Lovely garden! Hope George is “ hooked “ now. ❤
George is brilliant!!
whooeee! That's tons of work. I wish I had a HoneyDo to help me. Let's all give kudos to landscape and masonry guys who do this for a living!
