Letting us assume as she said that she "did nothing wrong" and everything bad was Bill's fault. She's good at such "lines". How on one meeting could Epstein come across "evil personified", I suspect that's a line calculated to make the listener sympathetic, but it doesn't ring true.

I have never seen anything about Melinda French-Gates, but after watching this interview I'm really rooting for her. I have never seen someone display Strength & Vulnerability in equal measures and display their humanity on their sleeve. She just came across as a wonderful example of humanity.

I am truly sorry that 27 years have been thrown away as if it was nothing. Being together that long I know they still have lonely sleepless nights crying from missing each other. I think most women in this situation, when they first find out the details that point to "the end" of their relationship, they tend to view their relationship as "dying", when, in reality, it has already died or these things wouldn't be there to be discovered. Breach of contract and personal betrayal by the person you thought so highly of, are so painful. To me, this is why it is important every day, to make sure what two people have between them is maintained "alive", because once it's dead, it cannot be revived in my experience. Thank you for your honesty, Melinda. You're an extraordinary person. What you just taught me is immense. Thank you!

What an inspiration to hear of her healing process. As I am now starting my own divorce proceedings after 37 years of marriage due to unending infidelity and he snubbed my stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She seems to be getting on with her life and I wish her happiness. My ex cheated on me multiple times. The final time that I discovered his affair was truly like a knife in my heart. With the help of a great therapist, I came to terms with the deception and found the courage to file for divorce. God blessed me by putting a wonderful man in my life and we are now approaching 21 years of marriage.

She’s not inspirational. She’s the ex-spouse of a prominent but evil man. Together they have partaken in their own personal agendas of population control.
One thing not mentioned is she filed for divorce after her youngest child turned 18. Even in the midst of her own personal pain and unhappiness she held off long enough for her kids to reach adulthood with an intact family. They could have coparented extremely easily with no financial restrictions and afforded her kids the best therapy money can buy, but she spared them the destruction of childhood divorce. That is very admirable of her.
I disagree. You do not protect your kids when staying in an unhappy marriage. You are their model for what a relationship should be and should look like. So a cold home, with bickering, bitterness and lack of love is not a very good model

I don’t agree. Sometimes staying in an unhappy marriage hurts children a lot more. There is that old saying “children would rather be from a broken home then in a broken home.”
I understand it’s intended to be a compliment towards Melinda and I think I know what you’re trying to say, or where the sentiment comes from, but it is a little misguided. It sends the wrong message that any spouse or partner needs to stay in a bad, unhealthy, or toxic (and at worst, abusive) relationship in order not to “traumatize” or “break up the family”. It puts the onus and the blame on the spouse or partner who wants to leave, as if they are a home wrecker for divorcing. Children are sensitive and can pick up on any tension in the household. Sometimes that creates anxiety or uncertainty and can lead to mental health or psychological problems in the child. Of course, depending on the situation, it’s quite possible for two loving and responsible and respectful parents to legally separate or divorce while still living under the same roof or adjoining roofs so they can still coparent together physically. I know of spouses who move into the basement, an in-law unit above the garage, the pool/guest house, or whatever so both parents can still be there for their children in the morning before school and be there for them after school. For those who can manage that maturely, it’s totally great for the children. It minimizes the negative impact of a divorce or separation. They don’t have to yo-yo between one parent’s house and the other house. In essence it keeps the family unit relatively intact, but it also allows the parents to lead separate lives and not be entangled to one another if they are no longer fit to be together. But these kinds of families are usually not dealing with the extreme end of a toxic pendulum. They’re probably on the lower end where toxicity is concerned. Or they have to be really mature adults who will not fight in front of the kids and won’t bad mouth the other parent to their kids, even if in truth they hate each other’s guts. That’s hard to do for most of us.

Having walked in her footsteps I find her way more amicable and graceful than I was at her station in life. Nowadays a class act is hard to come by and I wish her well. As for Bill, may he learn and become a better person... the children deserve the best role model possible.
