A special thanks to Mrs. M for filming these trips.
Seconded!
Thirded!
A 🏅 for Mrs M!
Mrs M should have a long show of our enourmous respect for her filming, and generel car antics!
"Honey, get out at this corner and film me driving by and making a lot of noise...just like the last 20 corners. Won't that be fun?"
Harry: Owns no. 1 of 250 Project 7’s.
Also Harry: Cut’s it up so it’s easier to store stuff in it…
What a guy!
The cutting is the farmer side of him.
@@scottjohnson4319 if he did it the farmer way (I was a farmer for 20 years ) it would have been cut with a hammer 😅
@@marcushull12 Good Point and after all he'd just say I was welcome to modify mine in any way I felt like.
He did actually help develop it.
@@marcushull12 don't give Clarkson any ideas lol
With every cut away of Mr M driving the P7 around a fabulous bend in the mountains, I can't help thinking of poor Mrs M who's been dumped on the side of the road to provide the shot!
😆😆😆
Indeed - I could just see my missus agreeing to do that....!!
A nice shopping trip in Paris on the way home should sort things out!
The car is just so beautiful, we need the drive bys
@@RAJohnson713 Drive bys agreed but it's not a car I would call beautiful
Absolutely love that Harry cut away part of the boot lining! Just shows that he believes in actually using his cars, not just to be locked away and looked at occasionally.
Busting the rear wheels loose, bug splattered front end ....
@@johnsmith1474 😁Yep. That young Shmee chappie would be appalled...
well, it is only a jag
Here here. This authentic flavor is what keep me hooked on his channels. I've long grown tired of the other major car tubers.
@@ChifundoBanda Harry is the real deal.
Once took a ‘short cut’ in France on these type of roads, I arrived four hours late and couldn’t believe how much cornering you have to do... the roads flow around, up down and through the countryside.
Best transit van drive of my life though !🤣
"Where we keep the boat" Sheer class Harry. Thank you for another fantastic video.
Hi, William! Yes, it's a good job he decided to give the chauffeur the day off... 🤭
Where was Jeeves the butler in all this?
I mean, it's nice, but it's not Scarborough.
@@Beany2007FTW love it
@@Beany2007FTW Or skeggy 🤭
14:24 new Alpine in the side rear view. Nice to live vicariously, and modestly as we share a boat so as to not harm the auto collection and restoration fund.
Must have your priorities in order, old chap.
thanks. i thought there was something in that rear view that also caught the camera person's eye '
Another epic vid. Thanks Harry, and credit to Mrs Harry for the hard work 👏🏻👌🏻
She should talk! Poor girl.
The soundtrack of that engine is staggering!
I don't know how Harry could find that car quiet. I thought the exhaust was a bit raucous and the wind noise at speed was a bit excessive.
@@alexbrown1995 All relative.
Minus the 💨
Great video for those of us who’ve missed our European road trips this last couple of years. Two years ago, I was driving down to Angoulême for the Circuit des Ramparts and the French roads and sunshine on this video brought it all right back. Unfortunately, it makes me wish my life away in anticipation of what I have planned for next year. So refreshing to watch videos where the subject - cars/roads/travelling - is not obliterated by the presenter’s ego. Good work.
The passion, after 6 years, for this remarkable car. Thank you!
The best way to tour Europe virtually is to watch a road trip episode on Harry's Garage. 👌
Fantastic. Love the Project 7. What a trooper is Mrs M, having spent countless hours standing on hairpin bends filiming for our benefit. Looking forward to seeing the trip home.
Thank you Harry, being in lockdown six in Victoria Australia we can only travel 5 k's and curfew at 9 pm. I have driven some roads in France and UK and this just brought back fond memories and a degree of envy and anticipation until we can get out of here. Love the car as well!
Best wishes for you guys down there in OZ, lets hope next year we get our freedoms back and burn some rubber before the green mob remove them again..!!!
Love the sound of that exhaust system...
Once again Mrs M is the unsung hero! I can’t wait to get back into France/Switzerland again after watching this. I look forward to seeing the Espada back in France on one of your videos Harry
A non Sunday upload? I must’ve died and gone to heaven 😅
Harry's off the cuff comments and general banter is PRICELESS👍☺❗
14:12 did anyone else see something peculiar? Didn't know mother nature could be cheeky.
Sorry am I missing something?
@@johnnyboy1586 yes Johnny boy look to the left at the clouds at 14:13
@@paulangeloff400 Ha ha. Well spotted. ;-)
Ha ha that's a whopper! At first I was looking at 4:13 not 14:13 👍
Glad someone else saw it! 😂
What a soundtrack that P7 provides, incredible
Harry..... you're superb. Honestly if some of the younger content cleators were in that hotel and then visited their boat you'd think 'tossers', but with you you just think 'good on ya matey'. Brilliant stuff.
Why?
@@GrantSmith101 old rich journo = good. young rich journo = bad
@@dreamcrusher112 Surely not noeL, only a tosser would write such a ridiculous comment. I guess we'll never know as Mark doesn't care to elaborate.
Huge shout out to Mrs. M, for doing camera duties, inc standing at the side of the road while Harry boots the car around another corner, ass out, mind you, she is prob glad she is not in the car when that happens. :)
Yep! Harry is a true sports car guy. Love Jaguars.
I freaking love these kind of videos. Harry always finds fun roads. And that project 7 is just beautiful.
Best thing is; Harry still uses a map to explain the route.
The modern definition of a gentleman is a man who has GPS but doesn't need it.
@@KasperViggoJensen I think more realistically, someone who can read and use a map, but knows that sometimes, the modern sat nav is more practical. For example, Waze showing bad traffic - screw it, off the autoroute, and 'backtrack' the taken route on a paper map after the fact.
Harry's pragmatism on such things always pleases me.
Harry's on a beano to antibes to his yacht meanwhile I'm lying underneath my clio skinning my knuckles in rainy donegal ! Good for you harry , best channel on you tube bar none, from a fellow birkenhead lad.
Been there, done that! Spannering you're own cars can be quite satisfying at times. Well, until you get to that nut that refuses to budge..
Impressed that Harry keeps his boat moored at Antibes. It’s a really lovely town, very authentic and “real” in a way Monaco never could be.
But cripes, that’s an enormously expensive hobby.
Not the cars. The boat & location.
I love the sound that engine makes! And Harry was averaging 29 mpg!
I really like these road trip videos, I would not mind more of them even in the UK. Thanks Harry for a great channel!
Yes please to This idea Harry if you are reading the comments. Would absolutely love to see you doing UK based trips.
Me too. I watch Harry's Garage religiously but my favourite are the road trips. My all time favourite was the Arctic Rolls (this is a pudding pun for those of you not familiar with the UK dessert called Arctic Roll) trip.
We used to regularly drive down to Pau to visit friends and always the drive down is a massive part of the hols.
We would usually avoid the Autoroutes, enjoying the straight, empty roads.
Not done it for a while thanks to C19, so especially enjoyed this trip. Thanks Harry.
My father used to do that run in various 3.4/3.8 Jaguars, late 50's and early 60's. I've even have a letter from Sir William commending him on his journey times!
Thanks for the virtual driving holiday Harry. I’m watching from my home in Adelaide in southern Australia and we can only travel within our state in these COVID time so a blast through France in your fabulous Jag was a welcome escape. I have to say the sound of the Project 7 on the overrun is laugh out loud inducing, love it 😀
Love the fact that Harry has a nose for the weather. He can smell rain from miles away.
Sailing does that for your weather senses.
@@kenpole1840 farming also me thinks
He's English. We can all do that as we get a lot of practice.
Mrs. M, thank you so much for your patience in filming all these journeys, and your strong stomach to handle the endless curves on the N85. I hope you got something to eat around suppertime (a Yank word).
In Portugal we have those highway transponders in Portugal for almost 30 years. I don’t understand why they aren’t use all around Europe.
I’m glad to see you back again on these amazing trips, Harry.
Great to finally see another road-trip special to France - As always, it makes me want to go there too - what a wonderfull country!
Magic trip. Harry always understands and seeks out the little moments that make a road trip extra special.
Thanks again Harry. I bought Evo for many years and only discovered your channel(s) about 16 months ago. I came for the cars, but I now value your delivery and joie de vivre as much as, if not more than, the automotive content. A real antidote to the dark side of life over the last 18 months. Oh, and I have learned much more about farming than I have in 25 years of living in the middle of a rural farming community. Keep it up - a real joy!
Really enjoying the project 7 content Harry . Look forward to the third installment . Enjoy your trip .
I absolutely love how casual Harry was about modifying his #1 of 250 Project 7. He fills the boot to the gills with his baggage and they are rubbing all the priceless signatures of the craftsmen who built his car. All regards are thrown out the window, he's going to enjoy the car he paid for, amazing and the reason why his content is so enjoyable
That was fun! Although I spent every yard of the mountain stage thinking that I should be calling Harry's pace-notes.
Sign of a misspent youth... 😁
March 2024. This video is far, far more interesting than the recent road test stuff. More Cote d'Azur road trips please. Have done this route myself multiple times per year since 1981. Know every corner from Grenoble to Sisteron to Castallane to Grasse. Joyous.
I love a road trip in a car that promises adventure. Just the tonic ! Ace !
Lovely Jubbly, what a life Harry lives.
Jag V8, sports exhaust, tunnel = epic noise! Great video as ever. Brilliant to see the car being put through its paces in both of it’s Jekyll & Hyde roles and such wonderful scenery too. All round brilliance. Thank you.
That Jag sounds fantastic!
The best trip yet. At least for the viewer. More trips-they always bring out the best and worst in the vehicles.
On the major highways you're driving THROUGH the scenery whereas on the twisty B roads you're driving IN the scenery. The B roads may take longer but they are usually much more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this trip and hats off to Mrs Metcalfe for shooting the video!
Thank you Harry! This American loves your European trips!
Just love the noise the Project 7 makes who needs music in a supercharged Jag?!!
Just sat on the throne... Perfect timing 👌😊
😃
I love your road trips!
Great video. Love that sound.
Amazing.
Thanks for bringing us along :)
Cutting a Jag for bags! Love it! Harry's tips for Project 7. Cheers!
I’ve driven the route napoleon a couple of times as a student in my Peugeot 205 and it’s such a great road.
Happy memories from my drives around France visiting the relatives of my french girlfriend at the time.
Excellent Harry. I have missed your trips!
Absolutely fantastic
In terms of no roof leaks, Porsche got it right first time with the Boxster, and continues to do so. That shower did a good job of cleaning your windscreen. Thank you for entertaining and sharing.
Fantastic Harry, and god that Project 7 looks stunning carving through the alps.
Made myself a cuppa tea relaxing and watching harry and the missis driving through France in a Jaaag ! Thoroughly enjoyed ,thank Harry
Always love your road trip videos, makes me miss the continent myself. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to get there for a lovely few days’ driving.
Splendid drive… the stuff of dreams for many of us! Thanks Harry, this was great.
Inspiring - I’ve not been over to France for 2 years now , but that pootle down to Provence is sublime- keeps the dreams real watching these videos- chapau
Love road trips with Harry!
Just what the Dr. ordered!
Bloody fabulous, thanks Harry 👍
Love these videos so much.
I always like your road trip videos best of all, you really are living the dream.
I luv that you are driving the P7 as opposed to storing it as a trophy. Looking forward to Part 3.
What a great video, as always, thanks
Great video yet again 👍
Fantastic video, as always. Thank you Harry!
My wife and I did a very similar route last summer in a manual V10 R8 Spyder, and it was epic. Agree with all your tips.
I looked forward to the next video!
Done a similar trip in an F type R. Perfect car for it. Ace on the autoroutes fun on route Napoleon.
Fabulous! Always makes a crappy day a great one when we get a new post!
Just superb Harry….
Thank you for sharing!
This looks so fun. Thanks for showing it to us.
Absolutely fantastic video, highlight of my week 👍
Thank you for a great video.I’m looking forward to part 3.
Fantastic stuff as usual, thanks for bringing us along! Had the same thought about the dual personalities of the Project 7. Seems like a fantastic car for a road trip like this. 👍
Totally agreeable viewing, thanks Harry 😀👍
Another great vid. I spent 5 years working in Belgium and used to drive my xfr from Eurotunnel to Mons once a month. Although a very different car and video this brought back some great memories. Thanks for taking me along with you.👍
Some of the worst rain I've ever driven through was just north of Rouen on the way to the Le Mans 24hr. Whilst peering through the spray, we were overtaken by a couple of Morgan Three-wheelers, who looked drenched, but like they were having the time of their lives.
If only my wife packed as light as yours clearly does!
I used to think that too.
Then one day I returned from work to find she had.
C'est la vie 😅
Get yourself a project7 and force the issue ;-)
My wife says where's the cool box and Vacuum flask 😁😁😁😁
I used to own a second generation MR2. One of the things I liked about it was that my wife had no choice but to pack lightly. "Why have you got five suitcases, we're only going for the weekend" isn't as convincing as "where are you going to put it, the boot's full".
Nice chooard Harry, damn! I get side tracked staring at your watches. Great road trip so far.👍🏻👍🏻
"Snap, Crackle, and Pop!" With Harry and the Boss!
I stumbled across your channel years ago with the espada, instantly hooked and although I love all your videos bar none
This one has given me the warm fuzzies of nostalgia.
Thank you so much Harry (and Mrs long standing usually on a bend in the middle of nowhere camera assistant).
😙
Nice report Harry and what a fantastic Jaguar!
Excellent! A Harry's garage road trip video, how I've missed them!
I like the Musée des Confluences, looks kind of wild water flowing. Good it’s next to the autoroute
Sam from STG will crave even more for this car after watching this
the right car, on the right road, everything you need to have fun
Oh, it's good to be back on the continent with Harry on a road trip. Halfway through the video and love the mundaneness of driving the autoroute with Harry, like driving with an old friend. Superb.
Thoroughly enjoyed that , made me realise how much I missed going to France this year .
Roll on next summer !
Bienvenue en France. Enjoy your sunny stay
Great video Harry. You give some much detail. Looks like I will have to put a project 7 on my wish list.
Wow Life Driven to the fullest, Livin' the Dream Arry!
Cheers Harry, lookin forward to part 3 👍
Congratulations lucky bastard! this is the car I would love to have, The legend, heritage, design....limited number....FAB!
Looking very nice.
