    I agree, it’s bizarre that they’ve changed the system when it’s now excluding so many of their guests!
    Not everyone travelling from outside the USA will go to Disney World for more than a week, so for people going for a week or less, the new paid fast-pass is basically completely pointless.
    Your well-observed point about even off-site guests in the USA being able to book before onsite international guests is WILD.
    Considering Walt Disney World is the Disney resort that gets the most amount of international guests out of all of them, I truly find this situation confusing 🤣🤔

      I totally agree with you! I cannot understand this decision at all! It's so bizarre to make people feel excluded and also potentially have a negative impact on their trip!
      You are so right that a lot of people visit Disney for a week and then visit other places Orlando and Florida has to offer so they will have no option to skip the queue at all! If you have saved for years for your dream trip this would be so crushing!
      It is so crazy that off site US guests have more benefits than on site international guests! I also cannot understand how you can have hotel benefits but they only apply to certain guests. It's just such a bad system!

      I also can’t understand why people outside the USA 🇺🇸 can’t book DAS 😮 this means we can’t go… so will stick to California and Paris and our next move will be the Asian Disney parks anyway 😅 but still shocking to feel not welcomed at all 😢

      This is a great video, you said what I was thinking much more eloquently than I could have. I love Disney (including Walt Disney World), but this is a real misstep. I really hope they see sense and fix this system so that it benefits international guests too, especially since they make up the bulk of WDW visitors.

  • @ALXM1
    @ALXM1 23 дні тому +6

    I have been shouting about this from day 1 so thanks for this and I hope it gets more attention. As international guest, first we had the DAS changes (for the ones to whom it applies) so you have to commit your budget knowing that even if you were qualified in the past, you probably won't anymore. They were then recommending to purchase Genie+ which is now going and replaced by something which doesn't offer the 7 day advantage unless you are in the US or CA one week early so DAS holders miss out twice... This is not the place it once was and it's heartbreaking.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  23 дні тому +2

      I agree with absolutely everything you've said! To already change the DAS pass system so many people now cannot use it is so awful, but then then say you can pay for Genie+ (and monetising disability is outrageous!) but now people can't even do that! So what are they meant to do? And you are so right - booking a trip and not being able to find out whether you are eligible for DAS until super close to the trip when you are locked in to going is awful and the stress will be terrible! Disney making disabled guests and international guests feel so unwelcome is such a bizarre choice! I have no idea who is making these decisions but I think this time period in Disney's history will be looked back on with shame! A brand that was built on inclusivity now excluding so many people is dreadful!

  • @joaoaroeira9878

    I completely agree with your points regarding Disney's treatment of international guests. Brazil, much like the UK, is a vital market for Disney World. The presence of numerous Portuguese speaking cast members (They even provide Portuguese audio in some attractions), significant sales in Brazil, and the large number of direct flights connecting Brazil to Orlando, FL, shows this importance. Yet, like the British, we have also been excluded. This is truly a shame and inexcusable.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  19 днів тому +2

      Yes! I know so many people visit from Brazil, you make up one of the biggest groups of guests to Disney World, so it is wild they are doing this! You are so right - the fact Disney World has Portuguese speaking cast members and attractions shows they understand how important Brazilian guests are, so it makes no sense to make a decision like this!

    I'm so angry with Disney that I could spit fire like the Maleficent dragon! We are DVC members and feel completely kicked in the teeth! We spend so much money with them - whether at the parks or paying our annual dues, etc. Unfortunately we have already booked our trip and bought our tickets for this year, but it will be our last. We have now decided to sell our DVC contract. Hope the Universal park in UK gets built soon!! Thank you for your vlog. I agree with you. They could have made a plan. Their excuse does not add up.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  22 дні тому +2

      This is the perfect comparison! It is so true that as DVC members you spend thousands and thousands with them and to now not be able to prebook, even as DVC members, it wild! I am not surprised you are going to sell. I have seen a lot of people cancelling trips. This will hit Disney hard in the long run!
      I think there are so many people that are locked into trip in the coming months who are likely feeling the same as it is inevitable it will have an impact on their trip, including me! I do think rope drop and riding late at night can help but inevitably there will be longer queues than we planned for.
      I am super excited for the Universal UK park too and Epic Universe! Amazing how Disney are handing Universal customers on a plate!

    They have announced changes so now Canadians are included. On the Canadian facebook sites everyone got together and wrote in to Disney to complain. Perhaps if UK and other international guests did that too, Disney would “magically “ fix it for all.

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  23 дні тому +2

      Yes I did see this decision! Disney said that for the rest of the world it is either a tax issue or a privacy laws issue (they switch up between the two reasons) but with Canada they've realised these aren't an issue. So I hope they will do the same for the rest of the world. I have seen hundreds of negative comments on their social media channels and know tons of people have been emailing to complain so I think you are so right, the more people that do it, the more they have to take notice and hopefully take action!

    You are balanced and spot on. A fare appraisal that should be heard by Disney with a solid response for guests addressing the issue. I just see a diluted Disney experience and yet dlp are doing a great job.

If they were considering a trip, this could potentially be the deciding factor. It is just such a bizarre decision! And their reasoning doesn't make sense as such a big company absolutely has the ability to resolve these issues, or else they should have just stuck with Genie+.
      I think you make such a good point about diluting people's experience. When the prices keep going up, as long as people still have a first class experience they can tolerate it. But once you dilute the experience and it negatively impacts people's trips people cannot accept that anymore.

    Its not good that they will get around us using vpn to "appear" in the US. We have an upcoming trip and our second week is at Universal resort (staying in Hard Rock for exactly the reason you said Universal Unlimited Express Pass). This means we can't take advantage of booking LLM in the second week, that's bad. Looks like our next trip will be Universal in the first week and Disney in the second. They should bring back the old old system where you had to scan a physical ticket to get a fast pass and the distribution point was usually near the ride its self.

    • @MostMagicalGuides

I think a lot of people will do as you've said and in the future switch to Disney for the second week. I hope before then though Disney will do the right thing and make it available for everyone!
      They did have a Fast Pass system when you could book online and it was amazing! It saved you from having to go to the ride to get a pass and you could prebook everything. So as they've had it possible before I don't see why they can't do it again!

      I hope Disney do remedy this as it will definitely have a negative impact on people's trip. Having saved thousands or tens of thousands of pounds to visit it is very disheartening to see we have no option but to stand in long standby queues, even if we had planned to pay extra to join Lightning Lanes.
      Thank you for your thoughts! It is always interesting to hear what everyone thinks about this new update!

    Hoping they change this before summer 2026 when we are planning to go back again- although it may have changed a few times by then! We went last summer and found genie plus to work really well for us especially combined with rope dropping certain rides. Xx

      I totally agree with you about Genie+! I think once you knew how to use it, it helped a lot and I liked the flexibility you had in your day.

  • @joc2567
    @joc2567 23 дні тому +1

    I think using it in the second week is obviously the only option. As a family of four staying onsite last year we didnt use genie+ because getting there early entry was the better option. We would do the big hitters first then the filler options in the afternoon or go back for a nice rest. Genie + for all of us was just too expensive anyway.
    It does seem unfair and illogical that international guests staying onsite are not being given this perk. Weird. X

    • @MostMagicalGuides
      @MostMagicalGuides  23 дні тому

      Yes early entry is definitely a great way to get on the big rides with shorter queues! I think a lot of international guests will rely on this now.
      I think any benefit that is offered Disney Resort guests should be available to everyone. It is so unfair otherwise! And I don't see why they have changed from a system that worked to one that excludes a lot of people. Very baffling!

I'll arrive on August 19th and my first day at the park will be on August 20th. I will not be able to enjoy the benefits of staying at a Disney hotel. A discriminatory policy for a giant company like Disney. I already wrote an email, but Disney said they couldn't do anything. I'm sad, because this wasn't the Disney I knew! You're video is amazing! Yes! I know this is one of the lines that people have heard from Disney but I feel if that really is the problem (although they are a multi billion dollar company with everything at their disposable to make a solution) then they should have just stuck with Genie+ that everyone could use. It's mad to change something that now excludes a lot of people and negatively impacts their trips. So I can't see any logic in changing it if they knew this was an issue.
      Seeing as we can buy from them via their website I don't think the tax issue makes much sense but I do know this is something Disney keep telling people so I hope there is a solution going forward!

      I think it can complicate things but as a multinational, multi billion dollar company they have the capacity to create a system that works for all. @@MostMagicalGuides They have conveniently also only made this available via MDE meaning that VPN won't work. If it was like FP+ then a VPN would work but now one needs GPS spoofing which a. is not simple to do b. not everyone has a PC to be able to do this. We had cancelled 2 trips from the UK because of DAS changes and now cancelled our 3rd one. When I spoke to CM and explained I have all the documentation and official cards which I use at Disneyland Paris with no problem the answer was 'we don't care and we can't tell you now if you will qualify until you are 30 days out' which by that point I would have paid for everything and would be too late to change. On the flipside, called Universal and they said 'no problem if you have X,Y,Z' you qualify. After 10 years and multiple trips to WDW unfortunately this was the nail in the coffin for us as a family although it is painful emotionally. Walt would have fired 99% of those Disney senior leaders.

      I am so so sorry to hear this! It is so awful what you have been through! People get so excited for their trips and to have so many obstacles put in the way so you cannot enjoy it is heartbreaking. I don't understand why they don't move to the same system as DLP or Universal. Because again they say they can't do that because of HIPPA laws, yet Universal can. They absolutely need to make it so that people can be approved for DAS as they book so they know they will be able to enjoy their trip. I totally agree that Walt would be so sad seeing what is happening to his beloved company. We all thought Bob Chapek was the worst and now Bob Iger apparently wants to top that!

      If it is busy then some good tips are to use the single rider queue on all the rides that offer it, if you are staying in a Disney hotel to use Extra Magic Hours to get on the big rides with shorter queue times and to ride in the evenings or during parade times to also have shorter queues!

      I definitely think more international guests will start doing split stays, as there are less reasons to stay on site at Disney World when you are excluded from benefits that are meant to be for resort guests, but people should be able to visit in any way they want and be able to access all the promised benefits to staying with Disney. It's weird for them to actively dissuade people from staying with them.
