What beautiful and intelligent young ladies! Thank you for giving Tom a listen. Hope you will continue. He is all about unity, and pointing out hypocrisy and contradictions. As mentioned please listen to his songs Brainwashed and In God We Trust.
So, let me talk about Tom lol. I'm a fan, but I wanted to let you know a bit about him and his girlfriend Nova rockafeller (who shot, directs, and edits hus videos). They are 100% independent. They don't want to be signed to a label because Nova was signed to Def Jam years ago and they screwed her over so she got dropped on purpose to get away from them. So now Tom and Nova speak out on a lot of things. The music industry, politics (both sides), drugs and sobriety, social issues, race issues etc! You have to understand Tom to understand his music. He brings up issues with the hypocrisies in America. He has some songs that are serious, some that are satirical (like his song "straight white male" it brings up the stereo types given to straight white males in America), he has all kinds of songs. And yes he has rock influences because he grew up listening to rock, and wrote rock songs before doing rapping. He just said he feels he doesn't have a rock voice. He also, is a big rap fan though too. His biggest influences are 2Pac and Eminem. He has a song that he dropped 100k on the beat from Em and made a thank you song to him called "Dear Slim". Anyway, great reaction and conversation! That is what Tom's music is for is to start conversations!!! #HOG (HOG is for Hang over Gang which is what him and his girlfriend Nova call us, their fans!)
Def Jam never ''screwed her over'', she failed to meet her commitments and they weren't getting a return on their investment, to much Booze Drugs and Partying.
@65 CJ5 uuummm that's part of how she got dropped which she did on purpose. They kept trying to make her into something she wasn't and working her like a dog doing projects she hated, so she purposefully got dropped. They wanted her to be the "Brittney Spears" of Rap and that's not who she is, so she fought back and they didn't like it. The kept trying to make her be something else. Yeah could that have been her fault for not reading the terms.... most definitely, but if you'd know anything about Tom and Nova you'd know her and Tom speak about that, how people just try to get deals and don't read the terms before hand then get into something that just isn't them.

The thing to do is get the government out of the house and let parents bring discipline back to the family.
Great reaction and analysis. Tom's music starts conversations, many people call him a Libertarian, but he doesn't like sides or labels, much of his music is social commentary and pointing out hypocrisy. Tom is fully Independent and championing Artists to do it Independently and keep your integrity and money for yourself. A similar song to this is Brainwashed that I think you might like. For a better understanding of Tom's Rapping skill you should react No Response, it also gives a little insight into him. Yes a good observation about the the rock beat, Tom and Nova (Nova is his longtime girlfriend who shoots all his videos) were both influenced by Punk Rock growing up as well as Rap. Nova Rockafeller was signed to Def Jam but she wouldn't bow to their manipulation so they dropped her, that is why they go against the Music Industry and #TheSystem.

Damn! I know it's a stereotype to say I was surprised to Black folks not saying a white rapper sounds like Eminem, because I've sure heard a whole hell of a lot of white people and Mexican people and excetera say the same thing... but not that I'm judging you for not saying that, but for the fact not knowing time and you straight up mentioned the rock and roll influences and then straight up twisted my brain comparing a Black Sabbath vibe... lady you hit the nail on the head on the first swing! I had to pause just to say that, and also mention you're bringing up some s*** this fifty-year-old had didn't even catch the last hundred times I probably listen to this track LOL if you two decide to go on a rabbit-hole journey into Tom McDonald, I would recommend staying away from the super controversial title tracks until you've at least heard about eight tracks I'd say.
But if you two are intrigued I would recommend dear rappers, Politically Incorrect, everybody hates me, helluvit , sad rappers, straight white male, the Tom MacDonald and Mac Lethal diss tracks in order... There are three in total. And then just hit them chronologically I'd say. But yeah great reaction so far but I'm only 7 minutes into it so got to hear you two lovely ladies enlighten me some more on some music I nerd on hard to!

You are not LISTENING. You're only hearing and seeing what you want to. The way he dresses is intentional irony. He hits the 'correct' buttons that literally every other rapper hits. That's not an accident. The sarcasm is thick in many of his songs, and it's extremely important to put aside how you feel about him as an artist or a person, and listen to the message.

@@65cj55 He absolutely is. He even says in one of his songs "I'm only offensive 'cause it pays a lot to chase views." That doesn't nullify the message though. That doesn't change the fact that he is saying things people are afraid to say. Exposing truths artists rarely expose. He is free, and doing his thing. And making a killing at it.
