    Many, not all, but many boarders are based on geographical features (mountains, rivers, lakes etc.) One thing the settlers and explorers were very keen on was mapping things out. You can still see the remnants of it today when you see a survey crew out taking measurements (for a road, building, or even a property line).
    George Washington began his career as a surveyor for the British Government. There were also men such as York who surveyed along with Lewis and Clark and James Pierson Beckwourth who played a major role in surveying and exploring the American West. (by the way, York and James were both Black men so we all played a role in the surveying and exploration).

    Tom Macdonald has so many great songs and different styles and flows. Dear Rappers was his first song that blew him up, my first song was No lives matter, I’ve been hooked since. Castles is a different side of Tom , but still has a message as most of his music does. I can’t wait for the rabbit hole. Hang over gang here for the ride #HOG

    Great reaction and discussion. Tom is starting conversations and pointing out our division plays into the hands of the elites and the System so we don't question what they are doing to us.
    My favourite non political tracks of Tom's are Best Rapper Ever, I Don't Care and This House, all equally impactful to his social commentary music. #HOG in the UK 🇬🇧 here for it

    Land Surveyors divide the land based on property deeds that notate the distances and angles of property lines. Land surveyors still do the same today as they did in the 1700s to layout the first US states and in ancient Egypt to build the pyramids. Back then they did use horses as well as lots of walking. We still walk through the woods a lot today. George Washington and Benjamin Franklin we’re both Land surveyors. Great reaction guys, thank you!!!

    How to draw a map : Get compass and point in the direction you want to go, write down the heading and count the step until your ready to turn to another heading, count the steps and write down the heading and step count every time you turn : when you are ready to return to your camp or whatever, simply go 180 ( retrace your steps ) to the headings and count the steps before you change heading, repeat and you will have a map to draw as well as an area to defend( I am a veteran, we tend to defend ) or whatever your mapping for.

    Re: how the state lines were determined and drawn... a good show to watch is "How States Got Their Shapes". It's a little bit of history on that. In many states, rivers, mountains, etc., as well as latitude/longitude lines all helped. Re: How the coast of the US was mapped. Maps of the continents were drawn as discoveries were made over the centuries, usually beginning with the trade routes.

    You were asking about maps and how they knew so much so many years ago. Many maps follow rivers or changes of scenery. Also they would survey the land as well. Maybe not the same way it is done today, but with the technology they had during their time.

  • @tinamoreland434
    @tinamoreland434 Рік тому

    As far as the way we know what the land looks like, yes sir dad, there were many men on horses going around mapping the land. They were called surveyors and Lewis and Clark were some of them and a lot of them were on the wagon trains and the westward push for homesteaders.🙂

    The borders were made bc 1. There weren’t interstate highways so they were cut off somewhat and 2. Bc of treaties after wars or when they purchased land. Land surveyors would go out and map it and they’d say “we’ll give you $$ for this land from that ridgeline to that river” etc.

  • @toddabbott781

    To figure out who and what is the system is real easy. Just answer a few questions. Who decides the work week is Monday to Friday and not Tuesday to Saturday? Who decides the work day is 9 to 5 and not 8 to 4? Who decides this is in fashion this year and something else next year? Who decides what you and your money are actually worth? Hint; it's not the government. They have been controlled by the system for centuries. Just a little bit bigger minnow.

    George Washington was a surveyor by trade. His job was to, yes, ride around on horseback and survey the land. It wasn't until years later that counties became uniform being a 6x6 mile area. But, yes the states were laid out as territories that later became states.

    good conversation! my suggestions would depend on what you want. if you want more political commentary content, then "Brainwashed", "Fake Woke", or "Snowflakes", for somewhat more lighthearted, but still social commentary there's "People So Stupid", "Dummies" and "Buttholes". He has a bunch of flex songs, such as "Don't Look Down" "This House" or "No Response" which are just packed full of fire, there's also some less controversial stuff, some not even rap at all, like "I wish", "Castles", "Cancer" or "Ghost" which was a love song to his gf, who directs, edits, and shoots all the music videos. Also some VERY good collabs.
    Honestly I just recommend you check it all out, tbh.. it's just easier lmao 😂 🤣

    Yong man, you just asked an interesting question. Maps of the world have been around for centuries. Back then, there were no satellites, planes, drones or any other technology to determine coastlines. How did they come up with maps from sitting out in the water on a sailing ship? I've never thought about that.
