@@arianetrek7049 It's truly hilarious how much the GTO spanked the NSX. The GTO's power advantage was no match when combined with its great handling! I'm excited to soon replace my now 9 year old tires with the best summer tires the market can offer me.

Typically on Best Motoring they don't race modified cars, but this episode is actually about each of these driver's daily driven vehicles, of which they mention that the GTO driven by Akihiko Nakaya is heavily modified by him. The GTO is typically a good 2+ seconds slower around this track in other episodes. The NSX is also modified, but less so, and was also driven with a low gas tank to reduce weight. The Cobra is a kit car. The surprises are how much faster the modded GTO is then the other cars on this track, that the Cobra gets black-flagged for a breakdown, and that despite the fact that the Celsior finishes ahead of the Impala SS, the Impala actually runs the faster lap between the two by a good half second.

At around 4:50, it sounds like Gan San asks if the GTO is tuned. Then the announcer says it’s a “Nakaya Special.” So I think it had to have been modified to run in the 1:06’s.

Must have had plenty of mods to the suspension, and looks like it has around 450bhp +. NSX would have killed a stock one.
