I’m glad Callum left. Even if he misses Ben too; it’s a different feeling when you’ve walked away from toxicity and then you are faced with it again. You realize that span of time apart has changed you and shifted your perspective. The other thing I don’t like is how unsupportive Ben was even before the attack of Callum dealing with Stuart’s illness. A “how are you coping?” line of concern at the very least. As a spectator, I find Ben interesting to watch, but if he were real, he’d be insufferable. I hope the writers take this as far as Callum filing for divorce and trying to date again. With all the stuff coming up, to reconcile them now, at Ben’s worst would be a mistake. For once, Ben needs to get up from under his dad’s shadow and prove himself a man truly worthy of all the love and devotion he gets.
