I don't think it was shame rather than fear of loosing it. He had a hard time already beeing there without Callum at his back forcing him to spit out what had happened. I think he feared loosing the last bit of self control, if Callum came to close. And he must have thought about Callums reputation and job because of the Cameras.

It was also hard to see Callum realising what Ben has been trugh, and why He did go party, drinking, and drugs. .so He could block out the memories of what happened for awhile.
Well he's been offered help from Kathy like talking to a therapist or a consultant but he just throws it back in her face and resorts to drugs, he's the one who doesn't want help 🤷♂️

I think Callum just saw Ben enter the room. He said “I thought it was you”, which makes me think he saw Ben, not that anyone told him. Since he knew what the room was used for, he HAD to know from Ben why he was in it.
Well Callum believed what he wanted to believe. There were plenty of moments to listen to Ben, and if he knows him so well and loves him so much, he should have seen something was wrong. Not saying Ben was behaving well either. But Callum should not blame Ben for not telling him.
