The amazing thing about many of these ideas is that they are seemingly so simple and easy to make, yet most of us would never figure them out on our own.😅
Mensch Felix!
I built your project and I use it on different types of blades. Very useful and practical. I also tried to use it as a guide to keep the angle when sharpening, but I see that I would need to make some adaptations, but I will try to try this idea too. Thank you very much!
Yes, good point. I may experiment with either the length or shape a little as I'm most definitely the one to catch themselves if a little bit of blade is left out 😂
A wonderful idea, thanks for sharing. I'll try to do that with softened steel-wire, then you can harden the tool after bending. That might give a slight advantage in stability, to have "feathered" coils, which clamp harder on the blade.
The corkscrew has been around for a long time. Maybe time to replace it with a peeler that you can detach and put on the blade like your invention👍 call it peelerix lol. Thank you.
I like the Idea! I thought you were gonna do some kind of quenching/hardening to the wire after so it retains its shape better. On the other hand, I don't peel potatoes anymore, I just wash them with a hard bristle to clean them, same with carrots and most other stuff. It's less work and more dietary fiber so it's a win-win ( I also can't tell the difference in most recipes, on mash potatoes is the only recipe that you can notice the little pieces of skin but you don't really taste them)
My ex didn't like her potatoes with even a little skin on, so I would peel some for her and sauté the skins with cayenne pepper as a little snack while I cooked 😅
Very adaptive invention, and very well presented. However If I am in the bush, and carrying potatoes or carrots, I would also be carrying a dedicated Victorinox peeler. Ive watch the older generations peoples peel their apples and fruit etc, and they seem to have mastered it by just using a pocket knife. Practice makes perfect.
Not sure if this is the best idea for a folder - all the juices and stuff running in and have to be cleaned after. For Venture or any other fixed blade this would be fantastic as those are much easier to clean.
The amazing thing about many of these ideas is that they are seemingly so simple and easy to make, yet most of us would never figure them out on our own.😅
I feel exactly the same way 😅
Mr Felix, you are the best guy in the universe! Ty for bringing us joy!
Thanks a lot for this wonderful compliment!
@@FelixImmler i would love to see you do some videos with tips and tricks and customisations for 85mm delimont knifes....
This is the type of content for all the knife nerds with no bush to craft in! I never mastered batoning carrots, cucumber or even potatoes! 🤣
Thanks for your funny comment!
I agree. 😁
Glad to see your finger has healed-no more bandaid and a nice little battlescar!
Thank you very much!
Just when I thought there wasn't anything else you could do with a Pocket Knife! Wow another amazing idea. Thanks Felix.

Ingenious as always!
Imagine if Victorinox added a new vegetable peeler tool to a swiss army knife! That would be extremely useful.
I 100% agree!
Felix, you're a genius! I love watching your videos because I always learn some new way to use a Swiss Army knife. Please keep the videos coming! 👍

My mum used to have a peeler like this when I was a kid. I’ve always wanted one but never seen one for sale. Now I can make it. Thanks

1.4mm wire is right between 14 & 16 gauge wire in America... I'd go with the 14ga.
Fun, simple, video.
Thanks!

to be honest...
it is the other way around. I copied it from there! :-D
