    You harvested too early. Harvest when the leaves are turning yellow or brown. That way you'll get even bigger potatoes.

      @@Blah-blah-sure hey np hope your doing fine I was doing so experimenting and I found out that drying your cut potatoes then putting it in a container with high amount of humidity (a napkin that's damp) will germinate your potatoes way faster than the dirt. Did some last week and the ones in the sealed container is growing a lot faster.

      You can eat them right after harvest & they taste very good. If you plan to store them for longer time then it’s better to “cure” them by letting them dry for a week in a dark and humid place.

    Do you have to let them dry after cutting the eye sections before you stick them in the ground?

    • @PhillySpecial
      @PhillySpecial  2 роки тому +2

      Yes its good to let the cut dry for couple of days. This will form a thick callous & will prevent the seed potato from rotting or getting bad.

    • @PhillySpecial

      Yes you do not have to buy special "seed potatoes". Just use the potatoes from the grocery store. Organic versions are good since they are not sprayed with sprout inhibitors. You can check our detailed video on potato growing: ua-cam.com/video/JgWOvZf7lbw/v-deo.html
