“Why’d you call me with ace high we gotta talk about that” That cracked me up… my dad passed back in March of 2021 and is the reason i play poker, i remember playing so many games along side of him at house and casino games. This video hit home. Cheers to you and your father Lex.
I lose my dad to heart disease this past may (May 20th to be exact). He's the one who taught me how to play poker, we used to play at the kitchen table with pennies playing five card draw, follow the queen, midnight baseball, and seven card stud. Very cool that you got a moment to play alongside him. Sounds like you guys had a great time. Happy for you.
Lex, I got the poker bug in 2003 off the Moneymaker boom. I really enjoyed you telling your story. I think you're a very good poker player and good content creator. I like that you are human and tell more than just the poker story. Thanks for the origin story and I will see you on the felt someday. Best of luck!!
I love getting out “really anywhere” with either of my sons. For a parent it’s always special. You kids get older with your own responsibilities and friends and sometimes it feels just like cats in the cradle. Your dad is a really nice person and was fun to be around at the last meet up game. Hope to see him at the next. GL friend
The love the story about how you played with your dad. Enjoy and soak up those precious moments. I use to play cards with my pops. He died last year July of colon cancer. I miss him very much. RIP Pops 🙏
This was the most wholesome video you've put out. I really enjoy watching the low stakes poker since this is what I mostly play. I also enjoyed the fact that you got to play with your dad. Thank you for bringing a smile to brighten my day.
Some of the most amusing tables have been 1/3 or 1/2, I’ve had a guy get coolered nut flush vs straight flush, then the new kid to the table starts needling him and it’s an all out rap battle style roast war, mf middle aged Indian man vs a stuck up white kid, poor quiet dealer with not an ounce of assertiveness in his blood stuck in the crossfire 🤣
@@aubreysharp73971/3 games literally have every character that Hollywood rejected. One time guy got a call from his wife/gf while he was in a hand- told her he was in the store and it took time to buy the diaper cause they were out. Played for 10 more min and etc saying “she’s gonna kill me today for sure”
I bet that was a fun time for your Dad, no doubt! Reminds me of playing stacks of chips for $5 with my sons and their friends when they were in high school. I was playing a lot of NLHE and Omaha 8 at a local game for hundreds, but had a lot more fun with the kids.
I love the section with your dad, he was so excited when you had those jacks first hand, I’m glad to put that into the vlog. Happy times and great memories with your old man 😀
I love hearing your story with your dad. I started playing poker at 16 during the first Covid shutdown and I have become an addict😂 My brothers and I are big gamblers now and we always play with my dad and it’s just something we do now. I hope you have many more memories like this with your dad
Really cool story-I knew the outcome because it is so close to my first experience! Had to be that way. You were an amazing athlete! Thanks for the share!
Nice vid Lex, it always makes my day to open up YT and see a video released from you. Brad and Rampage use to be my go to poker vloggers but your consistency of postings and the quality of your video's have really impressed. Good luck in the games ahead!!!
What a great and honest assessment of what Poker can be like in both short term and lock term views. Keep up the great work. Enjoy it along the way. And most of all keep sharing the content. Marty and Phyllis. (2Woolyboogers)
I absolutely love your story at the end man. I have been playing for 20 years now, but still remember when my dad would buy me into $20 tourneys at his buddies house back then cause I was too scared to risk that amount to modern day playing in $5/10 games being all in in a pot close to $7,000. How times change.
Awesome vlog. Must be really good for the psyche to play some cards with your dad and also drop down stakes to where there isn’t so much pressure compared to the big games
Finally made it first!!!🎉🎉 Great videos Lex and it has been a pleasure watching you progress from the lower stakes to the high roller games. Congrats on all your success
I believe all your viewers agree that poker was not so exciting as expected BUT the story from the past was great and entertaining. Love it Lex and thanks for sharing 😊 one question; how did your sports career go?
Since you asked, I like listening to you tell stories. I do wish you would recap less, maybe trust your listeners more to follow the story. That said, this was a very enjoyable story, and more stories would be welcome.
Man those memories with your Dad will be worth more than any pot you have won in poker. Make sure to cherish these. Awesome content!
So true. Just lost my dad at way to young age and there is no such thing as enough memories to get you through after they’re gone!
@@hullhealersboatworksrestor4377so sorry man stay strong till you guys meet again
I too recently lost my dad st 71 years young. Cherish any time you can with loved ones. Great content !
cdv😊
Today is the 1 year anniversary of my dad's passing and I miss him every minute of everyday. He was 48 years old.

Your story makes a grown man get emotional
Fantastic back story. I love the personalization, the transparency. It creates authenticity. Keep it going. Good job Lex.
Thick. Solid. Tight.

This is one of my favorite vlogs from you. Thanks for varying it up and including some personal anecdotes.

I have way more fun playing 1/2 than I do 2/5. 2/5 regs are miserable
I love seeing you play 1/2!! So so cool. I bet they enjoyed it.

I love hearing your dads reactions
Makes me think of how I got the poker bug... Easy at the beginning gets harder and harder but can't quit now, you are getting better and better.
Nice story Lex enjoying the content
Shower thought: is holding a 2/4 offsuit and hitting an A/3/K flop hunting a 5 really a gut shot or a one ended shot 🤔
Very nice doggo ❤❤❤
Good to see you're not a high-speed junkie (yet). Story time is worthy.
Never seen a handstand walk before, impressive!
Good story. What happened with the new Sport team you got your spot on?
The hand where you don't show your hand until the end was kinda fun. Maybe do that 1-2 hands at the higher limits each video
I love your videos.
Always great content. Great full circle story and back history. Lets get that 60k subs. Peace!
Looks like you got the weightlifing calluses goin on the palms
