I didn't start to get well until Jesus saved me and how that ties in is that the world itself and the fallen in it and the temptations of it are a poison and a trap cleverly presented as success. Richard was at some stage of realizing truths of worldly existence as we know it. I hope he kept going; yet I'm saddened by his sorrow here and I hope he found the joy of The Lord (and it looks like he did!). I love his personal accountability and the maturity and humility it took for him to that point.
The most honest and most truthful interview ever given brutally honest in every way he was actually giving in to himself as a human being begging for some help from someone
U hear so much talk today about legends... they call everyone a legend these days!!! But ladies and gentlemen here is the real deal! A giant in his chosen field... a true icon... R.i.p. Mr. Pryor! You gave laughter and joy to millions!
This is so precious. He was just another great potential who got caught in the traps of the system. I'm so happy he realized crucial things before dying.
It’s frequently the case that those rare comic geniuses, who come our way only every so often, also struggle so hard with psychological and emotional demons. Richard Pryor was one of those geniuses. I’m so glad he came to terms with it all, and made peace with it all before he died.
It’s great to see that my entertainer hero, Richard Pryor, is not only a comedian that people loved. But I hope Richard knows that people loved ( love ) the ( man ) also.
@@Sledgehammers_Nail If someone who doesn't want to hear a particular style of music at a particular point in time is defined a narcissist, then I'm afraid that's what we all are.

Thank you. for this! when he said "y'know" it hurt a little because i dont think the interviewer understood. he looked so alone there. when he said that. I know Richard. i know.
I love pryor always have. Unbelivable talent. Perfect comedian. I Seen his movies and I have his book. ive red every page. Some of its tough to read... wat he went thru. Under all his my demons and darkness i believe he was a very good honorable man full of love.
I was the 111 to hit like and when I went to pause ur video to write this sentence it was 222 ....I really just know it was my angles/ancestors sending me here to listen to this message & to let me know they are here with me always. And so it is! Thank you! 😊
I had to give this video a thumbs down because of the quality. The background sound pretty much drowned out what Richard was saying. Richard was speaking in low and calm tone wich is fine, but all the noise in background made it difficult for me to hear him.
"No matter who you are, or what you are, or what you do.....there is a YOU, that YOU must deal with eventually. To surrender, is one of the hardest things to do, for anyone. To surrender, to admit to yourself "GOD, i need your help. I can't do this alone".!" POWERFUL realization....
I'm glad I've learned a lot from people over the years. just by me OBSERVING other's. I'm my best friend. I love being alone. even dying alone is one of my best choices that way I'll ONLY have MY luggage. NOT yours.
💜 Comedians normally show us a counterfeit persona on stage. That's to protect them. You can't hurt that guy or girl no matter what you say. Because that's not really them. But Pryor truly laid his cards face up in this interview.
This is one of the realest things I’ve ever seen in my life. 🕊️➕❤️ to anyone who is ready to make a change. You can do it, if my dumb ass got clean you sure as hell can too 🫂
Great overcoming speech. You can take that message without thinking of drugs. That message could not be faked it. That's the words of someone who had the experience.
God is the singular conscious we all share. Satan is when ur seperated. No communication between eachother. Humans are built to communicate with eachother. It's the source of our happiness and power. We can't fathom the powers that come with communication. Abilities that built the pyramids
Humor and comedy, the best of it, is always born (and bourne) from the deepest, darkest, and saddest corners of our souls. That is the fertilizer the flower springs forth from.
Even richard pryor knew money, fame, drugs, women etc nothing can fill that void you seek other then a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Deny it if you want, but I gaurantee you without Christ you will always be missing something. I know because I was that guy. Then I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and woooosh, gone was that lonely lost feeling and in came the Peace.
Perhaps I am wrong, but Pryor was still not being as honest and real as he would be later in his life. In this interview I don't see any of the after effects (scars and burn marks) from having accidentally lit himself on fire while free basing coke and running to save his life while on fire, do you? This means this interview was done before he really had hit rock bottom and had to be truly honest with himself and the public.
How can you measure his honesty ? Why do you think a fire is the only low he has hit ? There are many lows in peoples lives. You don’t know the battles this man endured or the levels at which he became aware. People like you are so entitled, to think you know how honest a human is being while battling different things in life is sick & strange. The problem with the “public” is they feel like celebrities owe them their personal lives & should really just enjoy their talent!
Prove it, your full of shit. Pryor is a comedic genius who made a lot of mistakes but never done acts of cruelty on anyone but himself. Don't even put Diddy and Pryor in the same conversation. Pryor is an Icon and Legend.
Well done by the interviewer to let Richard flow like he did.
Got so much by saying so little.
Love you Richard.
2:49 "When you get well, you start removing yourself from people who are hurting you."

Wow this interview been seen couple thousand times but when this man is high out his mind in a interview has a million views !
The best comedians have so much trauma. Rest In Power Mr. Pryor! And thank you for your work.
This was beautiful and real. 🤲🏿💯💯💯💯💯💯
So many need to hear this.
So relevant even in 2024.
So so so true took a lot of guts to admit something that painful

Tell whoever it is in the background, blowing that dreary clarinet every 2 seconds, to jog on as people are trying to listen.
