Mine works awesome. If you keep hitting yourself in the thumb its because a) you lack common sense, or b) you missed where he mentioned to "hook it on the outside of the rubberband so you don't hit your finger " LIKE 37 TIMES!!!!!! I swear these kids today have the attention span of a gnat.
