Hi Gordon . To de-rust I use a 75% to 25% mix of muriatic acid and water . It dissolves rust fast . Just do it in open air or well ventilated area and rinse with plain water . 👍👍👍👍👍
@@GordonRobertsonDIY Some of the things I read said people were using the blaster with a pressure washer that was larger than what it was spec'd for but who knows!
You could try a plastic tub, like a child's swimming pool (cheap), or a heavier, more durable rubber tub from a home supply place, and do the cleaning in those, then you can pour the water/sand mixture into a strainer to re-collect the media. I always used the free-standing (dry) sandblast units so the sand remains contained. Always got a lot of static shocks though, hahaha.

That’s awesome, looks like those drums were cleaning up nice. It’s cool someone else is able to reuse them
Cleaned up good but rusted immediately since I didn't dry them.
Was on the fence about getting one but now I know thanks for info and by all means keep posting if you see fit!
I hope it works good for you James.
Thanks again Gordon for the information.
Thank you Nigel.
Woah! That apperatice works great. I need one real bad now too.
Thanks for watching.
Works great, thanks Gordon.
I thought so too.
I almost bought one a couple years ago but read that they wore out tips really quick and never pulled the trigger on it!
It came with a couple extra new tips, I don't think they would be costly if I can find them. I didn't see any wear on it yet.

Awesome video. Thank you
Thanks for watching Mark.
would you do a truck frame? I have a titan I need to do and no big compressor ... if so what would you put on the frame right after blasting it?
Rust inhibitor chemical sold at an Auto body paint shop
Ospho cote from ace hardware. Then Rust-Oleum hammer paint the following day
