It would take a $20k blast cabinet to do what my pressure pot did that I only paid a few hundred for twenty some years ago. The wet blast is good for containing the mess for outdoor blasting on a budget.
My Boss and I fought and fought one summer with that same Hydro Sandblaster unit. Its just too finicky to fuss around with and slow going with all the hoses. (we used both silca sand And Black oxide abrasive)
Great comparison. I've used the dry (with the box, not open-air), but not the wet. Always did a fine job.

Something may have been wrong with the equipment or setup, this definitely has it's place. I think the smaller unit is better for the home user.
Maybe switch the sand and try again.
I thought about that, maybe another time.
