A tip for the pillow in your bass drum, try to put it on the farthest head instead of the closet to you. It dampens the reverb more when you put it on the front head. Where you have it now (the back head), it slightly does both dampen the reverb, but it also dampens the initial volume of the hit.
Just bought mine in candle apple mist and bought Evans G2 heads and emad on the bass drum. Going to replace the cymbals later once I save up some money. Everything should be here Saturday and I can't wait.
Yep, I'm still working on it but unless I muffled the snare like this, all the other the toms rattled too much with a snare sound. I recently put those heads on though and I'll continue to figure it out hopefully, thx
@@xanderdelatorre3890i will say one thing tbough the drums sound great . They simply dont make bad sounding drums anymore. I love the technology of drum making these days .i know these are supposed to be “entry “ level drums but i dont believe that . Percussion plus are entry level and they dont sound like these . This Tama set sounds so pro its crazy .me i went for the newer Tama superstar classic drums because they are maple they sound pro as well .
For me this was not as informative as I thought it should or could have been. This TAMA set is an immediate set and it does have competition in this price segment. Remember do your homework there are many drums sets in this pricing segment. If color is the main reason for purchasing a drum kit this color is exceptional.
@@rudygomez6996 The Imperialstar kit is a really good kit and you would be happy with them, but I always know I'm playing poplar shells. They sound great to me but nevertheless, it's always in the back of my mind. I've researched the Yamaha stage custom as well and would go that route if I were you. However, I'm proud of my Imperialstar kit...I'm glad you brought up the stage Custom kit. That kit or the Catalina's are a step up.

What people don't understand is that you get a starter kit like this for $900. Then over time you slowly replace everything a piece at a time.

Nice Starter kit to either add on to or play just the five....Bravo
It has been an excellent starter kit my friend. I've added remo heads and a couple of B20 Wuhan Cymbals since this video. Thanks for your comment!

Спасибо за информацию. Заказали такую на Thomann.
That's great!! You will enjoy the set! Thanks!
Every drums sound better without muffling on them
I think you should only muffle the snare, unless you have a high tuned snare you can use the ring as asthetic.

What would you say is a step up from these that you would choose among the many options?
My step-up would be the Gretsch Catalina Maple. Definitely a good move upward at a slightly higher price.
@@dennispatterson-AT2025thank you, one more question if you dont mind, would you choose tama imperialstar or yamaha stage custom for best sound??
