So love this group. I knew them. They’re the real deal. I saw George in concert before he accepted Christ and then to follow this group til they moved to Glory. I was in the room in Birmingham when we heard that Glen had just passed on to Glory. Phil came to my house after recording Championship of Love with the Cathedrals. He came to play me the draft of the recording session. I went with Phil to Chattanooga City Auditorium and video’d the first public performance of Champion of Love with the Cathedrals. Loved these guys. Talked with Roger during his last days before death. So much to cherish. I was in the room when the group stopped by at the Southern Baptist convention and they surprised us with a few songs. So many great memories.
I seen the Cathedrals along with J.D.Sumner and the Stamps quartet in concert back in the middle 90s. They were so good with the music. I love good solid Christian music it's so up lifting.

I just love seeing Glen Payne get what my mother used to call the "Holy Ghost Cheerios" and do a little jump and skip as he sang to glorify Jesus with his glorious voce! Nobody could beat the magnificent low-down bass singing voice of George Younce that just seemed to go right through me! The piano player and the other two young men were all sooo wonderful, wonderful, wonderful as they exalted my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

He was doing it and doing it well for close to a Half Century... I'm thankful actually that y'all didn't compare him Directly or by Insinuation to Yasser Arafat or the like.
Two items to consider: 1). George was really sweating as he mentioned. What he didn’t know, the next year he had a very severe heart attack in Colorado; he didn’t know if he would live & if he would ever sing again. So as you can tell in this video, yes, he does some talking but he needs to catch his breathe between so many songs; and 2) this was a recording. So no matter if it’s a video or audio (records, CDs, tapes, etc) when an artist does a live recording they usually record a lot more song than what you see and yes there’s additional talking too. After the songs are recorded the artist & the record producer sit down and decide what talking & singing/music to keep. So what you finally buy & see is exactly what the producer & artists wants you to enjoy. So if you’re wondering if 2 more songs could have made the final cut, yes, but that is not what they wanted.
