Hi friend. This plant is native from Africa, but you can find in many countries with tropical and subtropical climates. Very lucky you found one, this is a very beautiful plant. If you found one with flower, then it was there for two or three years, young plants don't give flowers, the bulb must be big enough, like a ping-pong ball. If no one planted it there, so should have some more around.
For some reason I thought of the flower as a mother and the leaves as her children. While the the leaves grew taller than the flower, the flower itself started to shrink and wilt just like children growing into adults and their mothers growing older and more fragile :(
well you are kind of right but flower so called "dying" is actually good like sunflowers when the flower 'dies' the seeds are ready to harvest, or maybe dandelions turning into a seedhead..
@@shawehmariegold8926 I know dear, I saw the original posting date. And I'd hoped youd see it and be reminded of the joy of life youd once felt, just as your small comment has reminded me to. Thank you. But the more we grow the more we realize that there are many important things to do than watching the flowers growing and blooming, but of course i still love flowers and mother nature everything that God create for us. Would you believe if i say we will only have a peaceful life if there is God's word in our heart?
How cool... First, we loved it. My 9 year old son picked it as the Wall E film theme. Perfect music. I am happy you used the camera too... I have both the same camera and the same lens... What software do you use to compile this please? Once again it was beautiful and very well edited and produced... Thank you, David Trees.
David Trees. First, I liked your comment, second I love flowers, third Wall-E is one of my favorite movies. God bless your family and a big hug from Brasil for everyone. (in my city we call the crown of Christ) 15/02/2019
Correct, is a dark room. I think that is a good idea use a grow light, but in fact, I used normal fluorescent and incandescent light bulbs. Don't use only incandescent light bulbs, because the voltage in the electrical system is not constant, these variation result in different light in each shot, and it's not good for time lapse. Good luck in your project.
i have one but i don't know how to grow it to make it flower next year. should i just leave it or what? it's he height of fall now in the northern hemisphere but i live in the tropics (indonesia) where it gets to about 32 C everyday.
Hi, I always give permission to people, when they ask me to use my videos, if is not to make money. So, if you will not make money with my video, you can use. In different situation you can contact me by youtube personal message.
Well, the cicle of this plant is grow in the spring, give one flower, then the flower dry, and remain with leaves until autumn; In autumn the plant dry and stay that way in winter. I live in south of Brazil, so we have winter and temperature drops below 0ºC. I'm not sure what to do when don't have winter, you can try to remove the bulb from soil and put inside a paper box for three or four months. I always do this in winter, and put then back in soil in december to have flower in christmas.
Sorry, maybe I don't explained well about the real time. There is no 15 days video, 15 days is the real time between the beginning and the end of the video. It's a time lapse video, means that, we take a lot of pictures with certain interval of time, and then, make a video using, most common, 24 frames (pictures) per second.
