    Nice trip and great production, real down home folks eh? LOL!
    Fly fishing for bonefish or panfish is really fun if you go to the Florida keys again, I used to eat a lot of sheepshead fish in Naples Fl

    Clearwater is right down the road from where I grew up in Largo. Enjoy your stay in Florida.

      What a lovely area! This was a couple of weeks ago, we look forward to going back again next year.

    Oh yum that looked excellent. My wife and I did that a few years ago in the Keys. Hit up a party boat in Islamorada and then took it to a few catch and cook places and the yellow tail and mutton snapper we caught was awesome.

      The redfish was actually amazing. I enjoyed it so much that I wish we had a chance to get more to eat.... We ate seafood almost everyday when we were down there!

    nice trip. a short whirlwind visit with decent inshore fishing and good food. I'd like to see you two come up to AK to take a stab at completing the alaska salmon grand slam. It's a great place for fishing in general, there are so many ridiculously hot spots if you hit them at the right time. People from one of your sponsors is up there all the time it seems, or maybe they're residents.

      Thanks. We are planning to venture North this summer, not AK but it is on the list in the long run, perhaps next year.

      Absolutely! There are so many opportunities, and we only touched a little bit of the inshore fisheries. I'm looking forward to do more. :)

    Now y'all need to try the jetties for the bull reds.

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  6 років тому

      Yes! We did stop by a jetty to take a peek while driving around. Next time we'll have a better idea on what we want to do. I'd love to hear some recommendations. :)

      Well, jetties are a general idea where bull reds might be. I'm not from Florida so I can't give you a recommendation there. I've seen that Port O Conner pass in Texas has some bull reds. I have not caught one before, so I'm going based on what I've heard and seen. 30milesout on UA-cam has a video on catching bull reds in Port O Conner pass. I recommend taking a look at that along with plenty more research. Happy fishing.

    Were there many Reds tailing out there?

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  6 років тому

      Unfortunately the weather didn't make that possible. Throughout most of our stay it was pretty rough and water was quite dirty as a result, so we didn't spot any. Next time!
