I love your setup. Beautiful camper and truck. My host camper is definitely not four-season... how does your 1165 do in the Winter? I ended up getting a F-450 chassis cab with aluminum flatbed with side low profile boxes for storage. I should have gotten a F-550 though because I am right at my GVWR limit of 16,000. Hope to see more videos from you 👍
The coldest I've camped in it is about 32F and it was comfortable. The furnace was running frequently I do recall. Maybe this winter I'll try camping a few colder nights. At least in the driveway. Lol!
Great video looks like your gettin all settled in with it, how many solar panels did you install? I commented on your first video, I have the exact same camper I purchased months ago now my truck just arrived.. finally…. And my flatbed will be done this week and I’ll be off and running, I went with the Ram 5500 Laramie edition, I tow a Ranger Bass boat so I wanted the extra payload
Peter, I am curious if you've gone over a weigh scale with the unit, not only total weight ( water tank full, propane, all your camping gear etc ) but front and rear axle weights as well. I would be surprised if you are under the max GVWR with that unit. My brother had bought a ford F 350 dually years back and a camper of a similar era as the truck and the camper has no slides ( its a camper that was made in BC Canada ) and I am quite sure they lied about the empty weight, just the empty camper was way too much for the factory springs so he was in for a shock when he picked up his new camper. In went two more leaves per side in the rear packs, air bags, stable load wedges, and finally the largest aftermarket swaybars he could get his hands on to finally make it something that could carry the load and not feel scary on the road to drive in any sort of side wind or uneven pavement. He is about 500 lb over his total weight but still under the maximum axle ratings at least.
@@pski It will be interesting when you have a chance to go over a scale. I believe you had listed Timbren units installed on your unit unless I am mistaken, if the axle is resting on those that stabilizes a truck but if too much of the weight rests on them the ride suffers and the timbrens will live a short life from what I have seen another youtuber experience as their spring pack isn't up to the task and they were trying to get by without replacing or adding to the spring packs. It depends on the smoothness of the roads you travel on as well.
Wow that's a really nice camper!! I am jealous!! I bought a travel trailer by forest river. I always been interested in these. If not a secret how much does it cost?
I currently have two 100w solar panels from the factory. I'll be looking to upgrade those probably next year and add an upgraded solar controller that integrates with the Victron network.
@@carsonfawzi6259 If you’re going with the 600ah kit then it looks like labor is appx 50%. It’s a lot, yes, but it’s a lot of skilled work in cramped quarters. I’d only tackle the job yourself if you have really good electrical skills though.
He he. I said the same thing 10 years ago after owing a crappy Ford Edge. But, these Super Duties are a different ball game. The truck has been trouble free so far. Let’s see.
Very nice setup. Thank you for sharing.

Sounds like an awesome configuration with the 5500! I'm still using the two factory 100w panels but will be looking to upgrade next year.
Good video Peter

Nope, I have not hit a scale yet. The rig is safe and secure on the road.

Where did you buy the metal outdoor covers for the exhaust for generator? Great video. Thank you.

Did you use any solar panels or do you just charge with the generator?

Nice rig. Love the victron setup. Do you run a dc to dc charger?
I've got one in the garage waiting to install.
Great video!! Where did you purchase those puck lights?

@@pski Thanks
Those steps and flight up into the Camper is a no-go for me.
The wide bodied campers like these have their floor above the bed rails so it does require a “walk up” stair design.
Hey Peter did you do your install on the battle born batteries? Great looking camper love the upgrades!
Yes, I did. Thanks.
@@pski How was the install? Shop near me wants 15k for parts and labor... any advice would be much appreciated! Best, Carson
@@carsonfawzi6259 What sort of system are you looking to install? The parts prices add up quickly.

Get an external microphone. When you zoom you lose audio quality.
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe. I don't plan on doing too many videos though.
What weight camper truck ?. I see biggest camper truck 😳😳
A lot!
Will not use Ford ! Been there done that. Our corporate trucks are not Ford now.
