Beautiful video, Alexis. I love how you keep saying, "embrace your hair that God gave you" (paraphrased). I'm enjoying your journey because your hair is the closest I've seen to mine, so it's always so encouraging. And, yes, praying for your comprehensive exam :)
Awww, thank you so much for being here! I’m super encouraged to hear our hair types are similar and you find these videos useful 😍 praying your journey is beyond your wildest dreams!!! Keep me posted 💖
I love your videos!! I’m 4weeks loc’d now and enjoying my journey. I believe that this loc journey is indeed my own and totally agree with you…we must love our hair in whatever form it’s in. Thanks again for the tips!
Awww, happy you’re here... congratulations on two weeks loc’d!!! 😍🥳💖 that’s so exciting but yessss, the itching is INSANE sometimes. Keep me posted on your journey love!
Hello Alexis this is Tanya watching from Indianapolis ❤ I love your videos I feel so welcomed here. You are so warm and inviting and your smile lights a room 😊 I'm subscribed to your channel and very happy to be a part of your loc community. I just started Jun. 11 this year. This is my second loc journey and I'm excited to be back!😊
Hello Beautiful Queen, prayers up as you complete school I know you will do well. As always great info, the energy is beyond the best. I walked away with and always known this journey is your own. It will never be identical to anyone else’s. Comparing your locs to another is a deal breaker. So love ❤️ you your locs and the space you occupy. Be well, stay safe. Until next time. Peace blessings and love.
Hi, gorgeous!!! Thanks so much for your love and well wishes. Your support keeps me going every week! You make this community so much brighter 💖 praying you’re safe and well!!!!
They're looking more and more like locs Alexis, I'm so proud of you. They're beautiful... I'm commenting without finishing the video. I missed my girl!
Your locs are coming on so nicely. I can see them forming into beautiful mature locs in relatively quick time. Thanks for all the wonderful tips. I enjoyed watching.
Awww, hey Angelica!!!! That really means a lot. Thanks so much for being here and leaving some love!!! Welcome to the community! So happy you’re here 💖🎉💕🥳
Hey, Brandi! Awww thanks so much for being here 💖 congratulations on your first week loc’d!!! Did you start with two strand twists? I’m so excited for you!
Great tips as always. I have slightly changed my wash and retwist schedule. I am now washing every two weeks and retwisting every eight weeks. Trying to thicken up my roots just a bit. Have a great week beautiful. Can't wait until your next video.
Thanks so much for sharing the Don's and donts. My hair is a fine, soft hair just like ur moms. People have been telling me that my hair isnt good for locs. But trust me my hair is becoming good these day. Your moms locs also inspired me. I had almost wanted to unravel mine. Thanks for encouraging me. God bless u
Great video! Thank you for sharing and your support your locs continue to flourish as well as who your growing into! I love how calm you are and your soft embrace on your journey
I started my locs on my own because i wanted to have full responsibility of my foundation... but i definitely knew i wanted to go to a loctician after my first month to get that foundation perfected and parts straightened... now i go to the loctician every other month at 7 months in my retwists are easier and i can finish my hair myself in less than 3 hours.
@@AlexisHarris thank you! I just use a little bit of Jamaican Mango and Lime loc gel on my new growth and i don’t palm roll all the way because my loctician does that and it always makes it look like i have a fresh relaxer which i hate lol... but i know i need the loc maintenance so i go to her every other month.
I stumbled upon your channel and May I say your voice is so soothing. I’m literally watching this video at 2am at work and I learned so much. Thanks 😀 new subbie
Awww!!!! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment. It really makes my day to know that you enjoyed this video! Thanks so much for subscribing. Welcome to the community! We’re so happy you’re here 😍😍😍🥳🥳🥳
Oh i ended up washing my locs at day 25 because it was august and the pool was calling my name. I was fine with unraveling and just retwisted my hair lol. I needed that pool
@@AlexisHarris you’re welcome! It went well. Because of my hair texture I’m going with the two strand twist and I think now I want to do diamond parts because I like my hair full. Diamond parts or brick lay parts. Leaning towards the diamond shape parta
Hi. Alexis. I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been wanting to loc my hair for some time now but couldn't decide what to do. Some stages of the loc process are scary! However I feel more inspired after watching your channel. Thank you
Peace and blessings! Look at how far you’ve come already 🥰 I’m in month three so the completely natural parts of my hair have started to loc but some of my bleached hair still looks like a perfect two strand twist 😂 since I am doing my own locs I like to retwist as needed in between a full retwist. My hair grows sort of slowly but some unravel.
Awww, hey Mariam! Thanks for being here and leaving some love 💗 sounds like you have an exciting journey so far 😂👑 I love it!!! You’re so brave for doing your own locs. Definitely wish I was talented enough to do mine! Proud of you 💖 congrats on 3 months loc’d!!!
Hey Alexis! First off good luck with your doctorate program and exams. I just started my locs on 1/29 and I’m so excited for this journey so thanks for the tips! If I counted right I have 82 locs lol your loc count helped me figure out the size I want because our hair texture is very similar
Hey Morgan!!! Thanks so much for sending some love my way 💕 congratulations on your new loc journey! We practically have the same number of locs 😍 and that makes me so happy lol keep me posted!!!
Prayers up Queen! I love your hair. I have dermatitis, and mild alopecia around the front. But I'm embracing this journey. Can't wait to see my hair thicken.
Good luck with your PhD program. Try not to stress too much. I cried a lot in grad school 😆 🤣 so I can't imagine how it is for you. I just started my locs like 11 days ago and I'm excited 😁 my scalp was extremely itchy so I hope to get a hold of the problem.
Thanks so much for the love and encouragement! This program is no joke 😂🤣 so I feel you on the crying through grad school!!! Lol. Congratulations on your new loc journey 😍 you’re in for an exciting time! Happy you’re here!!!
Hi there. Thank you again for the insight. I'm approaching 1 month into my journey on 2/15. I started myself with twist and grid pattern with center part. I'm excited for my first shampoo & retwist. She's on stage frizzy right now but I'm embracing her.
@@AlexisHarris Hi Love. Aww, thank you. I'm not used to doing my own hair either. This pandemic has forced me into learning new things. It took me sometime t.i complete as I was trying to get parts straight as I could. I ended up with 72 twists. 💗
Hi Alexis I am commenting before watching this video. Where have you been . Missed you. Your locs are looking so nice. Coming along just beautiful. I will comment again after I watch the video. Agape.

@@AlexisHarris Thanks for asking. I am doing just fine waiting on this winter to end so that I can welcome spring my favorite season of the year. Later. Continue enjoying your loc journey.
When I started I thought my hair was like your mom's, but now it's gotten thicker and I don't see much of my scalp when I retwist, only in areas where I had postpartum hair loss. So I'm just hoping it continues to fill out and thicken up. Blessings...
