I had a couple of bad experiences and decided I’d had enough. Since then I’ve been maintaining them myself, I believe another great decision, which goes hand in hand with my self care. I am 18 months and I have only had 2 styles so far and the loc pedal bun was one. I started and maintain my own locs, but I did let a pro do the styles. I started with 2 strand twist that touched my neck and I did experience shrinking, but now they are almost touching my shoulder.I was a loose natural for 10 years and I learned how to take care of it and did many styles and now U am doing the same for my locs. Your locs are beautiful 😻 and thank you for the good advice.

Alexis I totally love you and your locs. We started our locs at the same time. I totally love the loc style. When I started my locs, I always kepts my locs styled. I'm from South Africa and so things are a little different this side. I palm roll my hair. I had a loctician from the start but after the 12 month mark, I started skipping and doing my own hair. It's a good way to maintain my scalp. My hair is thriving. Apart from that, I just love you so much sis. Great energy and personality.

You just glow and elude happiness. I love love love your hair style. I have contacted a loctician prior to seeing your video because my locs last no longer than 2 weeks so I need some help. Gloria get your butt to Charlotte NC 😡🌹. I can’t say enough about your locs. They look healthy and strong. Very pretty. I am so happy for you. You did a great job on your retwists. The good thing about my hair is I keep it covered when in public for Godly reasons so I only have it uncovered when I am at home so I can leave it alone and just let it do it’s thing. I don’t believe in moisturizing everyday with rose water. We all know water makes our hair shrink and nappy. What works for me is I do my wash and condition then a deep conditioner sitting under my heating cap and I retwist with loc gel which I love. Prior to retwist ing I put all my growth hair oils in and the oil alone keeps my hair moisturized for a few days so I don’t have to constantly be spraying water in my hair. So I use rose water maybe twice a week the rest are my oils. That works for me. My hair has grown just leaving it alone. I love doing my hair but it just doesn’t last more than 2 weeks that is why I think I might need to visit a loctician. When you do your retwists do you twist and clip it at the new growth and sit under a heating cap? Do you sleep with your clips in over night then take them out the next day if you use clips. Do you sit under a heating cap?

Maybe we can convince Gloria to go on a tour one day 😂 also, thank you for being so open and honest about your locs. I love the fact that you are able to avoid rosewater. I will give that a try one day. I typically avoid heating caps when I retwist at home but when I go to my loctician I sit under the dryer. When I do my own retwist, I’ll let the clips stay in throughout the day and take them out before bed… or I will keep them in overnight if I retwisted late in the day and they still need time to dry. Love you hair style and color. I ask my church member who started her locs and who would she recommend to do locs I reached out and a year in half later I’m still loving my locs. I got my locs started with my loctician i have started to do my own re twist in between visit.

If you’re going to spend your money, it HAS to be on someone who is worth the investment. Also, don’t be afraid to try to re-twist your own hair (and your kids’). Ok I've had sisterlocks b4 like five years ago and now I'm doing locks much better for me .... My question is I've had my locks for two weeks should I wait to wash my hair... Or wait until I go back to my location.. and should I oil my hair.. 😟 only two or three has come undone
Ok so I've been loc'd for 20 months. Sometimes I wash my hair myself and I oil it at least 3 times a week. Not too much oil just a little. I also make my own rose water, I spray my hair before I oil it. Hopefully this helps👸🏽
I started my locs with 2 strand twist and i went to go and get my first retwist yesterday when i went she suggested to interlock my hair instead of a regular retwist because it will last longer and now my hair is interlocked i like it but when i start seeing the new growth can i get a retwist or do i have to always interlock my hair now
Thanks for being here!!! That’s a great question. I’m not too sure! I’d follow up with her and ask if I were you. I’d imagine you can still palm roll retwist once you have enough new growth 😍
Yes Gidzz you can go back to retwisting once you get enough new growth. But if you want to retwist your locs maybe you should just retwist and not go back and forth between interlocking and retwisting. I hope that makes sense. Enjoy your journey.

I didn’t get a loc style until almost my 2nd yr of being loc’d. I’m 3 1/2 yrs loc’d. I started with a loctician. I only see my loctician once a year

Gloria get your butt to Charlotte NC 😡🌹. I can’t say enough about your locs. They look healthy and strong. Very pretty. I am so happy for you. You did a great job on your retwists. The good thing about my hair is I keep it covered when in public for Godly reasons so I only have it uncovered when I am at home so I can leave it alone and just let it do it’s thing. I don’t believe in moisturizing everyday with rose water. We all know water makes our hair shrink and nappy. What works for me is I do my wash and condition then a deep conditioner sitting under my heating cap and I retwist with loc gel which I love. Prior to retwist ing I put all my growth hair oils in and the oil alone keeps my hair moisturized for a few days so I don’t have to constantly be spraying water in my hair. So I use rose water maybe twice a week the rest are my oils. That works for me. My hair has grown just leaving it alone. I love doing my hair but it just doesn’t last more than 2 weeks that is why I think I might need to visit a loctician. When you do your retwists do you twist and clip it at the new growth and sit under a heating cap? Do you sleep with your clips in over night then take them out the next day if you use clips. Do you sit under a heating cap?

Maybe we can convince Gloria to go on a tour one day 😂 also, thank you for being so open and honest about your locs. I love the fact that you are able to avoid rosewater. I will give that a try one day. I typically avoid heating caps when I retwist at home but when I go to my loctician I sit under the dryer. When I do my own retwist, I’ll let the clips stay in throughout the day and take them out before bed… or I will keep them in overnight if I retwisted late in the day and they still need time to dry. Love you hair style and color. I ask my church member who started her locs and who would she recommend to do locs I reached out and a year in half later I’m still loving my locs. I got my locs started with my loctician i have started to do my own re twist in between visit.

Ok I've had sisterlocks b4 like five years ago and now I'm doing locks much better for me .... My question is I've had my locks for two weeks should I wait to wash my hair... Or wait until I go back to my location.. and should I oil my hair.. 😟 only two or three has come undone
Ok so I've been loc'd for 20 months. Sometimes I wash my hair myself and I oil it at least 3 times a week. Not too much oil just a little. I also make my own rose water, I spray my hair before I oil it. Hopefully this helps👸🏽

I started my locs with 2 strand twist and i went to go and get my first retwist yesterday when i went she suggested to interlock my hair instead of a regular retwist because it will last longer and now my hair is interlocked i like it but when i start seeing the new growth can i get a retwist or do i have to always interlock my hair now
Thanks for being here!!! That’s a great question. I’m not too sure! I’d follow up with her and ask if I were you. I’d imagine you can still palm roll retwist once you have enough new growth 😍
Yes Gidzz you can go back to retwisting once you get enough new growth. But if you want to retwist your locs maybe you should just retwist and not go back and forth between interlocking and retwisting. I hope that makes sense. Enjoy your journey.
