Good to see some Tama love, now if only they send Sweetwater some cocktail jam kits so I can actually get the kit I ordered instead of waiting until March!
Are the S.L.P. maple kits/snares made with the higher quality North American maple used for the Starclassic and Star series or the lower quality used in the Superstar Classic series?
You all probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I love any help you can give me
@Damian Connor thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I’m calling it now. 2019 Starclassic Performer will be either a Walnut/ Birch Hybrid Shell or a Kapur/ Birch Hybrid Shell. Walnut is readily available since North America has plenty of Walnut trees in a few different species . However Kapur wood which comes from the Dryobalanops genus is a common timber wood in Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra and this could actually be a finically viable wood to use in a mass market drum shell. We already know that Walnut Star drums sound absolutely amazing and the SLP Kapur kits sound nice so will Tama choose either of these woods in the new Performer line? In case you haven’t figured it out B/B has been discontinued due to the high tariffs on Rosewood species woods. Bubinga will only be available in the Star line. That’s what my credible source tells me. I was disappointed at first but after I thought about it I came to the conclusion that Tama will NOT disappoint.
Personally I can’t stand the super deep toms on any set with two rack toms because it makes it so much harder to position. I got a Starclassic, which is an awesome kit, but the 12x10” tom makes it really difficult to get it in the best spot. I’ll admit I don’t want super shallow toms, but too deep is too much.
Well, first of all, I had to raise my throne up a little, which might seem problematic to some but it was beneficial to me in the long run. It gave me more power in my legs and feet. Then I had to buy two DW "L" arm tom clamps and attach them to my left and right cymbal stands. This gave me a lot more flexibility for the placement of the toms. Plus, I play more old school rock and metal, so I'm not doing a lot of that fast tom stuff like the Gospel/Hip Hop guys.
I heard that ordinary guys like me aren’t allowed to go to NAMM. You have to either be with the company that’s selling products, an endorser of said product, a sponsored artist, or be invited to NAMM by a famous artist. I do not know anyone famous, so I can never go to NAMM if I wanted to.
I was drooling thru this whole video! Damn, that's some sweetass gear.
I love Tama drums the quality of hardware and shells is outstanding Tama is the best

Love the SLP line...bronze and G Maple, in particular.

I had no idea about the bubinga bb line, I'm going to buy a bb kit in early 2019 but now I'll think I'll wait for the new bb line.
Nicky d killin it!
The tama club jam kit reminds me of the pork pie little squealer
1st Sonor uses the Tiger's swivomatic idea and now Tama. I might have to get one...lol.
I thought that guy was with Gretsch? I guess he’s a Tama rep now
there shoud be sound of the drums...its like watching food
tama rules....
S.P.L. is Revolutionary!!
Someone turn that guys mic down, I play tama and excited to here the interview but GD!!!!
I hate the fact that the SLP Bubinga kit is a limited edition
sventek97 Just get a SC Bubinga lol...
I hate that fact that such a nice kit has such an unattractive name.
SPL???......Come on man.
......Sounds Cheap
I think its because the wood is endangered or something.
John was with Gretsch for a long time.
1:35 "That Bizzzg sound"...lol
the club jam would be nice wif it had a normal looking floor tom lol
Love Tama but damn their toms keep getting small!!! Need some Power back in those Toms.
My thoughts exactly.
I guess you'd have to call in a custom order.
Of coarse, that will be more expensive.

Kevin Simmons lol you’d HATE my kit. I’ve got a 11” deep 14” Tom as my second Tom. And it’s above a 24” kick! Lol
Man I don’t even hate it, I’m honestly super impressed you make it work. Do you just have it super angled inward?

What's up with that hand shake
That floor tom is a snom, A & F was one of the first to do that. At least Tama will make it easier on the wallet
