On #2 of the 1964 comets. First met the fate of the crusher (rusted through), but a cool yard ornament with the 289 back when I was 23. Got my current Caliente convertible (289/C4) in the garage needing some seals replaced.
My first car that I got as a high school graduation present were 2 1964 Mercury Comet Calientes. One was a hard top and the other was a ragtop that had a 302 engine under the hood. Unfortunately I never got to drive as it needed work to finish it to road worthy condition. It was a white body black ragtop and a red interior with AM radio.
My dad had a silver one. We drove from California to Kansas that summer. He bragged to everyone how the air conditioner in front of that tray kept his highball nice and cold!
Except for the fact the small block Ford was a 260 for the first half of '64 and a 289 for the second half. Growing up a Chevy fan, I have more Ford powered vehicles than I anticipated.
Great car very rare video kind of sucks next time please pick a place with the cars aren't traveling on a main road you could have picked the side street to do the video. Very hard to listen when listening when the cars are going by. I would definitely put air conditioning in that car. Good luck cool looking car and very rare. Amen ⭐👍😎
I have always loved the 64 and 65 Comets!
Wow REAL cool 🚗 cars..1964 comet callenties..I use to have one..4 speed..Real cool..RARE 4 SPEEDS..RARE..
Cool, great car! Not many people even know about these... This one has the Super Rare Original 4 Speed
Rare is right. I knew a man ran a 302 in sportsman circle track with a 4 speed chevy trans.

My stepfather had a red 1964 comet Caliente 289 auto/ac with a black vinyl top. Bouught it newin 64; Iowned it in the early 70s. Love these cars.
Why does he have it in the street where the cars are driving so close? Nice car but I wouldn't show it off there where someone could smack into it.
What a beauty of a car . Friend had one nice power sounded awesome

Very Cool, Who got. them for you?
That's the sound of freedom.
"Sounds really good"...as it backfires. And did he really have to rev it so high before feathering out the clutch?

Thats a Great Storie, Such Different Times, LOL...
Beautiful car , would be proud to own that ! ...
Back in the early 70s, a friend had a '64 that came with a stock Boss 302 and 4speed. Fastest car in town.

I may be wrong but I think it was 1968 when the 302 came along.
with slotted mags ohhhh
Is the auto still for sale or not? If so, how much?

Poor clutchmanship!
The grill looks a lot like the Lincoln Continental.
