The one where the QB faked the slide and then scored. It was from that play, that a new rule was established that faking a slide, it is automatic dead ball at that spot.
You know a trick is good when a new rule is made prohibiting it after it happens. Quite a number of new rules have been made because of trick or unconventional plays that had no written rule around them.
@RoyalMela Trust me, and this is from decades of corporate experience. No matter how many rules you make or policies you implement, someone is always going to find some way around the system. Some loophole that isn't defined or technicality that can't be challenged under the current system. Trying to cover everything only results in a huge book where 95% of it isn't used 95% of the time. Heck, this has already happened with the US Tax Code. Over centuries, people found ways to avoid paying them or convinced courts that part of it was unfair. Now there are so many rules and exceptions that the code is now nearly 7000 pages long, 75000 pages if you include the guidance documents. That's the equivalent of reading the entire Harry Potter series 19 times.

@@TheHozz11because when you go to slide the defense isnt allowed to hit you because refs will call a late hit or targeting since if you go for a tackle while somebody is sliding its not like your still aiming at their legs so the defense had to pause.
Wait. The play where the linemen layed on the ground. Those linemen were 10 yeards down field when the forward pass was thrown. I would assume that would be an ineligible receiver penalty. I get that they have a screen exception in college, but still, after the screen pass, they made a forward pass.

2:50 QB has almost 200 yards rushing and they didn't put a spy on him even after they did this same play at the beginning of the game? I don't watch college football, so is it typical for them to just not change their scheme mid way through the game or was this just bad ball by the defense?

The play where all of the O-Linemen dropped to the ground, shouldn’t they have been called for a penalty because the linemen were downfield before the pass??
To clarify, in college, the illegal downfield rule only applies to passes that go forward past the line of scrimmage. If it’s caught behind the line, there’s no downfield violation.
Not sure, but I think every one of these highlights came out of the ACC. Not sure if that’s a comment on the creativity of the coaches in that conference or a lack of ability to maintain your lanes and play decent coverage by the defence. lol 😂

Not in college football. In the NFL, yes, you need to be both physically down *and* touched by an opponent, but in college rules the ball is dead if the ball carrier is physically down.
Never understood when the OL shifts to the Wide Out position, why do the DL and Linebackers go out there too? The OL can't catch passes. That should be a easy sack with one guy blocking.
The multiple Offensive Linemen in this video that caught touchdown passes clearly indicate otherwise. It is actually fairly easy to catch a ball when nobody is covering you, even for Linemen. This is a great example of why other people are coaching teams for a living and not you.
The one where the QB faked the slide and then scored. It was from that play, that a new rule was established that faking a slide, it is automatic dead ball at that spot.
RG III did the same thing in the NFL and got broken in half because of it.
Kenny P baby
I was just about to comment that that play should be illegal...glad it is!
Good.
I was just about to say there needs to be a rule against that because they penalize the defender if they hit the QB during the slide.
when a QB slide's the defenders have no choice but to stop, that's why the rule needed to be created.
When the cameraman is fooled you know it’s good

You know a trick is good when a new rule is made prohibiting it after it happens. Quite a number of new rules have been made because of trick or unconventional plays that had no written rule around them.
Rules should cover all things that can happen in a game. Allowed or disallowed, there should be a rule about everything.
