Lyrics:
Aqui me pongo a cantarte
los tres vicios del mal
cigarros, cerveza y la tequila
Ay compadre no ves
me estas pisando los pies
te la debes de cortar
En cada celebracion
no falta ver la emocion
con gritos y alegria
Pero ay compadre abusao
que ya me tumbas el trago
mejor ya vete a sentar
Ay ay ay aaaaay
ya no le den de pistear
porque ni parao no puede
ya es mejor que ya lo lleven..
lo lleven a acostar
Such a great, authentic scene. For anyone that grew up Chicano, with a large immigrant family, this is pretty much what family gatherings were like.
Takes me back to a time when family gathered up no shame just a good time!!!
Not just chicanos, bro. It is a latino thing. Mexicans have been a big influence throughout the American continent including the USA. This movie scene is common among Latin American countries. We sing traditional, local music as well...but Mexican artists like Armando Mancenero, Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, Pedro Infante, and so many more have influenced many musical and movie artists througout Latin America and the world.
@@bowtoyoursensai4555 That’s great to hear, man. As a Chicano, I feel Mexican culture is often overlooked or stereotypical in movies and other media. So this movie and this scene in particular always hits home. Thanks for sharing!
Yep for real, a bunch of great gathering memories too.
@@bowtoyoursensai4555You have a really cool name! 😂 Napoleon Dynamite?
Cigarros cerveza y la tequila!
@John Proctor I hear a lot of Spanish speaking people from Latin America use La instead of El
@johnproctor943 That's what Mexicans drink fool
@johnproctor943La Tequila is Spanish for Tequila
There is no La tequila its El tequila@@robertrodriguez787
@0:17-0:19 That is Ritchie Valens actual mother, they got the scene from a family recorded video from years ago and re-created it for the movie. She sadly passed away three months after the release of the film. There were several family members to include Richie’s mother, his brother Bob, two sisters and one other person who helped direct the direction as to where the film went. They were all pleasantly surprised and very proud of Lou diamond Phillips and everybody else involved.
Great movie. Esai Morales playing Bob nailed it. That clip shows how much of a “Black Sheep” Bob was 😂
The real bob passed away back in 2018
I knew this. Everyone who seen La Bamba and loved Ritchie saw the behind the scenes stuff. She was there for most of filming especially the New York scene
Yes we know
This part always cracks me up, I got relatives like Bob in my family. Always got into fights with their girlfriends when they got drunk but they were a blast with us kids, lol
Every family has a Bob lol. The Dracula thing he does to get away from almost beating his wife 😂😂😂
@@ongogablogian3178 What the hell you talking about never once did Bob lay a hand on her in the movie or in real life that I heard of

amigo 1 orale!!
amigo 1 I was dying watching the movie, realizing the lines of the song where literally in connection with Bob during that scene
what does the song means? so fun to celebrated a party with a big family :)
@@plasticage2085 it's about having a good time while drinking and another guy getting a little out of hand and he needs to stop drinking already.
amigo 1 where can I find the full song
This movie makes me cry really hard all the time and specially I’m from
The San Fernando Valley
Same, I miss those kinda partys
We had parties like this when I was young in the 90s 😂😂 I was a little girl and I even remember the camera and the light like that 😂 nobody has parties like this anymore
For you, angelface, I'll throw a party like that. You in?
Same!
Yeah, simpler times.
Did you play Loteria?
I remember the exact same lol
@00:29 poor Bob he can’t catch a break he just wants to have a good time.
I absolutely LOVE this song, the dancing, and Rithcie’s mom sitting on the couch while he’s singing😍😍😍
What a scene & what a movie...every Latino will feel this one in their loins...Luis & Daniel Valdez & all the cast & crew captured something beyond cinema...I wish this song went for longer...it's Chicano blues...as deep as it gets.
Every single one of us has a relative like Bob lol Dude cracks me up lol
In my family I'm that relative or was. Got sober finally. Haha
Or your that person (me) lol
I have an uncle who has the same hair as bob and me and him have a strong bond he calls me forest from forest Gump and times he calls me Ritchie so I call him bob cause he acts like bob when he drinks and or when I play my guitar sometimes for him😂😂
Yea my uncle Tony always starts trippin after drinking at our family get togethers in the back yard🤣 Always funny to watch everyone trying to calm him down 😆✌️
This scene does something to my heart. I know and have experienced this party with mi familia. I was that man!
Replay, Replay, y mas Replay de esta cancion!!
Viva Mexico Cabrones!!!! Parties like that with all the Familia are the BEST!!
Brings back memories of all the Fiestas we had.............esos eran los Dias!!
Verda que Si?
Ritchie's real mom is in this scene(:
j Gutierrez I just noticed her lol
Which one is she
I knowwwww
0:17
Ritchie's Real Mother's Cameo?
How surprising before she passed away in 1987. I'm pretty sure at that time, when she WISHES that that her son Ritchie Valens was still alive. But HEY, She's got her cameo before she passed away.
I did not know that… Wow.
Bob is the best part of this movie. As far as I'm concerned he is the ONLY reason why this movie is worth seeing for me personally. ( i already knew the story of Ritchie and read about after researching Buddy Holly so I wasn't all that interested in revisited that element but actor Esai Morales playing Bob took this movie to another dimension. Damn he's so incredible in this film. Bob broke my heart. Every scene he was in was captivating and very emotional. The obvious way the mother neglected him and favored Ritchie....
Esai Morales was robbed of an Oscar.
Very interesting perspective of his character. Yes I have seen many movies in my days and esai always does a stellar job as a Mexican. He's a Puerto Rican doing it exceptionally! Mi familia as well!!!
I can’t believe Sean Connery got the Oscar in that category. Esai Morales rocked in that movie. The way he acted in that movie was so natural, his facial expressions (sad, happy or angry), his demeanor and that scream for his brother at the end of the movie brings tears to my eyes. Great job Esai. RIP Elizabeth Peña. She did outstanding as well!
After a long day of playing music in the backyard for the family, this one always gets a rise.
U bet my man !
It's August 2021 and I STILL love this jam and movie! 🙏✝️🔥😎
The part when Bob puts his leather jacket up to his face like dracula makes me laugh everytime I see it
I love that part too and do it all the time, but nobody gets it.
Yooooo!! The comment I came here for
🧛🏽♂️
@@avega2792 same here dude Lmao 😂
Same 😂😂😂😂😂
As flawed as Bob was, he's the kind of character who you still find funny and wanna root for to overcome his problems internally.
The expression on their faces while they were holding Bob back 💀💀💀💀 Every drunk uncle irl 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
They were like Calm down calmate Bob then started laughing at the end😂😂😂
I got 2 uncles like that and I'm pretty sure I'm like them too
That’s my uncle, I get sad when I think about him gone. He’s alcoholic but I love him
Reminds me of how my family use to be. Those days are gone forever 😢
The lamp cord staying plugged in with all of those people moving around is the real star of the scene. And how long is that cord anyhow? :P
Small house?
Bob Morales R.I.P
Died September 15, 2018😢
That_Ford _Guy what????
Fuck man! RIP that good man and good brother! As a matter of fact I’ve always thought the bamba movie should be named “The movie of Ritchie Valens’ brother: Bob and la bamba”.
@@christopherdonjuan7690 la bamba is a true story
Had no idea he'd passed. He once said that the portrayal of him in the movie was pretty much how he was. He said he had trouble having to look up to a younger brother.
You know that art contest...
I won.
$500 is prizes!
And with the baby coming, that money...IN ART LESSONS.....😂😍
Man, that guy reminds me of my brother.
I wanna get drunk now😂🎸🇲🇽
THANK YOU!
0:18 Doña Connie looks identical to my grandma
May they both Rest In Peace
I love how they step in at the slightest indication of Bob's antics lol. Love the song.......Aaaaahhhh Ah Ha Ha HIIIIIIIII
Man, I have been looking for this for the longest. Thanks!
When Connie Valenzuela sees Lou Diamond Philips as Ritchie, she say, in herself, she can't believe his hijo is alive! After this scene, i imagine her kiss Lou and Rosana to remind this moment!
0:40 when I was little, I was thought he made the baby cry 😂
Bob cracks me up 🤣
0:34 - Reminds me of my parents back in the day. ❤
Why he didn’t win an Oscar it’s beyond me
No puedo dejar de escuchar este corrido
the typical side by side painting of your grandparents in the back. :]
Omg, yes this scene was nostalgic in a way
Aha we had a painting of my great grandma in her pueblo, puro mexicano

It's a real recording by the dude playing the guitar. They recorded him during this scene having a good time with Ritchie real family. It's as close as you will get.
love this song
The guy who played Henry Reina in the movie "Zoot Suit" comes out in this movie too. He's the one who's playing with the band and singing at the 0:13 mark
Daniel Valdez. He actually sang this song during the scene.
I Fucken Love being Mexican!

Just in the movie. The dude actually sang it while filming this scene. Luis Valdez... he came out in alot of 80's Chicano films.

So guys, El Pachuco belts out a couple of tunes in Zoot Suit, but I don't think its E.J. Olmos singing. It sounds like Daniel V. voice who I believe directed and wrote the songs. Am I right?
