my oldest brother died in 1967. he was a chicano who dressed exactly like this vato. he died in california youth authority. i was born in 1966 and i heard this music from the time i was born. my mom said he was always listening to this style. i just feel it in my heart when i hear and see this music. alot of oldies were sung by blacks. much respecto to my black brothers and sisters.

This song reminds me of my cousins who lived in ELA. It shows the neighborhoods where one of my friends was raised. I believe it is PRIMERA FLATS. My cousin and I grew up together and he wound up hanging with the gangs in ELA. He has been locked up in Prison ever since. He passed away in October 2021. I miss him we use to go to Whittier Blvd. on Sunday Nights. Those memories will last a lifetime. AMEN!

Also, I don't think these people are what is meant by the term 'Chicano' -- as near as I can tell, the people in the video are dressed in a modern Pachuco/Pachuca style -- but that's from googling around for a minute, instead of personal knowledge.
Anyway, in my experience, people get along based on their personalities, not their skin color.
