I've got a 1.6tdi Golf 6 2010 and my injectors are still good (I'm at 217000Km), EGR has been changed at 130K km. It's a good engine if you drive long distance 30+ km's a trip + if you don't use cheap diesel it'll be better for your injectors and motor. Also use Injector dpf cleaner once a while (15k km+) Also motor oil treatment from bardahl works good. And maintenance is recomended every 30k km (Feul filter every 90k km change) I always prefer to do every 15k km. Just so you know if you take care of these cars, drive long trips and not super slow (clogs up egr and dpf) you'll be fine...
Simple stick to the tried and tested 2.0 tdi...which is evolution of 1.9tdi. I have mk6 Golf 2.0 tdi which has 350k klm and Still driving it hard for Uber. No issues and still going strong and l get 1300km range highway and 800km city driving while Uber. Fantastic car once serviced correctly with correct grade oils.
Hello. I have a 2012 1.6 tdi manual and when i get up to 2000rpm when i push the clutch changing gears from 1st to 2nd it makes a clunking noise and car moves a bit. When i do it under 2000rpm it doesnt clunk. What can i be?

You are so honest and thorough with cars that at this point I'll probably be better off looking at buying a donkey.
Only 3 minutes? Not as bad as expected! Thanks for making this video.
That’s why the petrol engine video is 10 minutes 😂
Your videos are AMAZING! I cant believe how much information you can give in just 3 minutes.

I agree, the 1.6 tdi is a money pit. I have one. It has spent more time in bits than being driven.

Everything you said happened to my 1.6 😂 very good video

2:13 Can you clear up whether the oil pump belt runs in the engine oil (wet belt) or runs on the outside, like the timing / aux belt?
