    I have k20z3 and k24a... everyone is telling me to go z3 head, but I’m keeping full k24 long block. Plus my jdm k24a has less miles. I will say, I’m going to run z3 50 degree vtc and rbc mani on my 2.4. Good vid. I figured the head flow rates would be very similar.

      Theyre not though the z3 head flows way better

      K20 heads, have smaller values it's not worth it. Stock vs stock, the power gain is minimal not worth the money. In the end, if you CNC the heads you would have more head flow with the bigger valves with the K24.

    i have a k24 ep3 type r otherwise stock rev limit set to 8000rpm the engine reaches peak power at 7000-7500rpm lap times are no different to a k20 peak power comes on at lower rpm. the car pulls well midrange. stock type r intake & exhaust.

    I heard you can port a K24A2 head and get decent gains also...?? If so what's a good parts build as far as cams, valves, springs, retainers, etc.?

    I have a k24a3 blocked bored,honed,slevved 88mm with standard stroke. with k20a2 head with ported polished and skunk2 cams etc ..
    Recently fitted the turbo ran 680whp

    People are asking $1000-$1500 on eBay with no cams for a K 20 head

      @@garyphloyngam7148 and if you just put the head on it doesn’t do shit people say oh you get an extra 40 hp, yeah you do. If you put a 50° timing actuator and a downpipe and high performance exhaust and really big fuel injectors end a $600 tune so all said and done it’s gonna cost you over $2000-$2500 if you shop correctly to get 40 hp.

    Why not just get the k24a head 3 angle/ valves deshrouded milled done.

    Been really digging into it lately and find myself in confusion about the K24 and I am damn sure you'll know the answer to this my friend. Apparently the 04-05 block comes with better/thicker rods compared to the 06-08 block and apparently the crankshaft from the 06-08 is balanced better than the 04-05? So much misconstrued information out there it seems, that or I simply can't find a straight answer that hasn't been countered.

      Highly doubtful on the rods. Crankshaft info may be true but end of the day if your looking for a "better" crank then get whatever cranknyou have knife edged and balanced at a machine shop. Nothing honda did there is going to make any difference onnthe dyno

    What if you have something like a k24a4 with the junk vtec. would it be worth it to drop a k20a2 head on it ?

      VHB Engines my head just messed up on my k24a4. Can I put a k20z1,A2,z3 head on it without tuning it? If I want to mild boost the low compression A4. Should I just get the same head or upgrade the head ?

    I have a 2009 Honda Civic Si, just swapped the K24 Block, kept my K20 Head, also plugged the oil jet spray with 10 mm screw. I was getting P2647 error, changed out the VTEC Solenoid assembly, also VTC Solenoid, also changes out the new engine harness. Still the P2647 code, I give up, don't know what the issue is, if anyone can give me some idea or advice i could sure use it right now. TY!

    I have a k20a3 long block i an thinking about swapping just the head to a k20z1 just to get a hard kick with the head ?? Would that work better also haves bolts on a3 but i want to haves vtech swapping head to z1 can i make it worth??

    I have a full k24 swap for my rsx but now it can only goes up to 7000,7500 rmp. How should I fix that to higher pull?

      Use ur k20a2 oil pump n fit it to the k24a2 block but bfor u install it. Port it. I have full k24a2 swap on my 8tg gen. And i recently found the k20a2 pump at the junkyard. Im goin to port it bfor installn it cuz right now i rev 7500 just to be on the safe side. Ive heard tht pump goes beyond 9k ported

    k24 head dont have any good aftermarket parts. all we see is small dc sport header and injen cai 🤔

      Every car you'll find with the engine in it at a junkyard will be the base engine

      Mine is a k24a8 with tsx internals and k20a2 supertech springs,retainers etc

      The Ram only when k24 is built to rev high. Throwing a z3 head on a k24 block and revving it to 8200-8600 will blow. If you are using the z3, or a k20 head, you need better oil pump, stronger rods, slight head work to k24 for it to get to 8k+ rpm.

      @@TheGerbsteve Not to sure about that I had a 06 K24a2 revving to 8400 only thing done to the motor was 50* vtc and type s oil pump. stock k24a2 rbb head with these add on can rev up to 8600 before valve float

      iCam Jailbreaker I knew I should’ve bought an 06 k24a2, better cams, valves, stronger rods... I have 04 jdm k24a, so it’ll probs handle 8k rpm tops, if that with stock pump. My next build will be an 06-07 usdm k24a2, type s pump, super tech valve train

      @@TheGerbsteve put a 06-08 usdm camshaft in your 04-05 engine with vtc50 and type s oil pump ... I have that I’m waiting for dyno but it will rev to 8200-8300 rpm(which is enough) my buddy have the same set up but had a full 06-08 engine before that (that blow) so he take all his goodies and put it in a k24 jdm
      K24 06-08(vtc50 type s oil pump) did 235whp 195wtrq
      K24jdm (06-08 cam, vtc50c type s oil pump) did
      230whp 192wtrq so for that much difference just go for the cheaper route
