With Dandadan, its definitely a first episode thing, it tones down in terms of the sexual content and it is more of a character driven story than anything. Yall on point bout the Regular Show comparison 😂
Malcolm’s statement about the celestial dragons lacks the proper analysis and context. A “cool name” doesn’t denote that the characters should be strong. Thats a terrible way of assessing a character. The contrast of the name and the character is to highlight the dissonance between the slobbish, unsightly design of the characters and their “celestial” status as the noble class who would separate themselves to the degree that they would choose not to breathe the same air as the rest of the population. It’s a deliberate critique on the upper class who hold positions of power due to nepotism and inheritance and not through actual competence or moral superiority. They also derive from the 20 kingdoms that united the world and created the world government, which is no small feat. Their ancestors quite literally shaped the world of One Piece. The equivalence is similar to Abraham Lincoln’s ancestors being bums but having the political power to destroy a country and enslave a population on command Mocking the intellect of One Piece fans is crazy 🥴
I see why many One Piece fans are seen as 'deep in the trenches' or wearing 'thick bias goggles' when content creators like Malcolm give takes like this... The name is bad because not all of them are strong? Really? That's not the point of the name! I thought it was pretty clear that the name was meant to juxtapose their character as people and show their status in society. Guess not. 🤷♂ At least there are people like you who understand the message Oda is trying to convey in his story. Like when he started comparing the Celestial Dragons to the Hokage as if they’re comparable 🤦. One is elected based on merit, while the other is born into power-the POWER DYNAMICS are completely different. A fairer comparison would be Celestial Dragons to a monarchy, or Hokage to a president/prime minister. Honestly, I don't know if it's a lack of critical thinking or if he's just not paying much attention to the story, reading it only because he feels obligated to appease his fanbase
It ain’t even a one piece fan thing, if you hear someone’s have a cool, strong name😅 & you see they weak af, how don’t you see the parody in that lol the only reason they’re powerful is bc of their status in the world. You a thinker mal but not on this one lol it wasnt that deep
@@CloneCommando-mo5nq I feel like this is a case of Malcom reading One Piece as a battle shonen and not as an adventure manga. A lot of people come into one piece with the expectation of it matching up to bleach and Naruto whenever it’s really carved out its own genre. An author whose intent is to write a battle manga would save a name like “Celestial Dragons” for a strong character, but Oda prioritizes fun characters with interesting quirks that can be recontextualized to fit multiple roles as the story progresses.
When u think of dragon u think of power angels u get further into the story u learn how much power they have in the verse oda uses the name symbolically
I know one piece has as many flaws as episodes, but Celestial dragon is literally just a title bruh it literally means nothing and is just inherited from birth to separate “the upper class” from everyone else, super simple concept actually and being like, the title is hard so that character should be hard is the most middle school brained criticism I ever heard.
As a professional one piece Stan, I am literally begging you, please just quit reading/watching OP. I personally feel that it’s the greatest story ever written, but I also understand people have different tastes. You clearly don’t fw the dynamics of the story and you seem to not even be enjoying yourself. It’s okay to not have seen/watched one of the big 3 if you just don’t like it. Would prefer to hear about Bleach/Blue Lock/Tower of god updates considering you hype them up instead of giving a “meh” review each time. Huge fan of the show tho, been listening for over 2 years and listen to Retro Crush as well. OP just not for everyone is all and anything is droppable if you’re just not feeling it.
whitebeard saynig its a fuck you to the goverment is a testament to how much power the celestial dragons have. i also dont think if roger tried to tell him whitebeard wouldnt want to know the answer because it would be something he needs to find himself. Also welcome malcolm to the one piece headcannon verse LMAO we all delusional
Celestial dragons have power and control, they do not need strength and to beat Luffy or a top tier character when they control the world, they are a dragon in the fact that they live in their own space and have control and power.
If we talkin worst big brothers, Itachi might be the worst one imo. I get bro didn’t have too much options but that nigga killed everyone sasuke loved, put him in a genjutsu to scar him more and dipped out on some “come kill me when ur ready” ts. Then had the audacity to be the “good brother” post death and messed up Sasuke’s whole world view. Bro was trippin.

I like the characters so that’s good to gear

Not fucking w one piece fandom over a race being named celestial dragons is crazy LMAOOOOOO
Also "dragons" tend to be strong beings in other verses so I get it but that's just not the case for one piece
@@Jvroidshrek out here can beat a dragon😭🤣

Dandadan is gonna be good, trust gang, and the story and plot gets real interesting
But that Dandadan op went crazy, might be intro of the year no lie
Edward Eric is one of the best big brothers in anime too. Don’t forget that but Alfons may go down as a better brother
Time stamps please fellas
Yall forget all for one is on a timer, all might doesn't need to fight and win he just got distract him long enough
VERY good point
Not saying tanjiro or Ed(fmab) for best bro is crazy.
I agree with Malcolm's take with Ace, cuz he had no attachments for me, whiteboard carried that whole ark for me
Whitebeard is the GOAT
DanDaDan is so much better than Undead Unluck and Chainsaw Man. It has so much heart in it throughout the story
Sanemi from demon slayer has to be the worst brother😭
Ong Sanemi lost his mind 💀
Oh shit I lowkey gotta see more of him but from what I’ve seen bro is terrible
@@malcolmcrawford_yea worst one I seen so far

Worst big brother would have to be All for One and best big brother would be Tanjiro
Bro was a menace
