Love seeing your work being appreciated by the local celebrity hah. Great job man. I like that they are building and adjusting as they see the need instead of throwing it all in the wind and hoping it would be successful.
Good to hear...thanks for continuing to watch & comment You regular viewers keep me motivated to continue to do this and it really helps...the video production gets frustrating sometimes but with your support I suck it up and soldier on
Great video. Sounds like there was a lot of wind on that job, I bet it was a cold day. I ordered the arc captain plasma after I saw your plasma cutting video , keep up the hard work.
I really like the way you are doing the videos. It helps to really know what you are doing. Its very helpful. My job went well on the replacement of the shanks on the earth rake. 5/32 7018 was the answer. Thanks again CB!
Beautiful seamless extension on that pipe job Smart idea for smaller pipe ring backing plate Thanks for that tip thanks for sharing Cheers from Nova Scotia
Good morning CB! Man, that looks cold and windy! Talking about batteries, I bought my old Lincoln 305G brand new in January of 2005. It came with a Harris (a division of Lincoln) battery in it from the factory. I ran way over 7000 hours on that machine and didn’t replace that factory battery until 2022! I’m guessing that was my “one in a lifetime “. By the way, I’m still using that welder around the shop and when I want to take a second engine drive to a job site. It’s got 7860 hours on it now.
@@michaelbigelow367 Yeah, I love my Ranger 305 G’s. I’m on my fourth one now. Still have the original, as stated above. My second one, I put 3200 hours on it in 7-1/2 years and sold it for more than I paid for it. The third one was a 305G EFI. It welded great and it was nice not having a choke but, it was worked on 3 different times and they never were able to make it idle correctly. Always wanted to run wide open even with nothing hooked to it. Lincoln took it back for another 305G carbureted. Happy again.
One of those pattern torches came up for sale near me on Marketplace and I immediately thought of you! I saved it for later and when I revisited to look again it had sold. Kinda kicking myself but I have spent a lot on tools lately lol. Thanks for sharing and your work looked great as usual.
Howdy C.B. I wonder if you have a multi-meter to test output at welding lead vs. what the machine was actually set on. Reason I ask is, most machines have heat settings based on material thickness,,, which would be skewed slightly if output didn't match machine setting. An experienced welder would/should instantly know to adjust settings whilst an inexperienced one may struggle. I saw video about arccaptian where they have their 200amp welder actually only putting out 160amp & the 160amp "mig"knot machine max is 125ish amps Respect from West Texas

CB... you've done it again! There's always mention of backing strips on structural I beams. Never heard of a fancy round backer. Truly a craftsman!

Those 305g are one of the best engine drives ever they were really reasonably priced back in the early 2000s
That is one heck of a battery life! 👍
@@NBSWELDING I wouldn’t have believed it either if I hadn’t owned it.
Wow, that sounds like a great machine. My Ranger 300DLX has just over 3000 hrs on it. I hope I get that out of it before any trouble. 👍

I dunno if a multimeter will do that...if you want actual numbers you'd really hafta be able to check it during welding and I can't do that.
