    I was just watching this, the video hasn't finished yet. Shortly after they started singing, my 2yr old boy who was playing with his brother and sister , just stopped came over and stood next to me watching them intently. I asked if he liked what he was hearing, he starts nodding his head with a big smile saying "I like dis, I like dis". Thank you for the moment and the memory made.

    Idk Mother, I think your public presence is a worthwhile endeavor. This was lovely. Shout out to Mother Iliana! Maybe we could get some episodes introducing us to your sisters. One of my favorite parts of What God Is Not, is seeing how “normal” you and Father Michael are. I think people often think that monastics are already perfectly holy and therefore almost foreign in nature to us. If people could see how relatable you are, perhaps it would open doors they thought closed to them?

    Sometimes, during the Liturgy, there's a "good Deacon" full of faith and a "bad Deacon" who seems to be speaking falsely. That's why the Liturgy is ultimately informative. Yet it does not happen all the time, just sometimes. It's one of the reasons Orthodoxy functions properly, as a Faith!!

    9:30 That's the un-faith of Saint Thomas. Our very Christian tradition is built upon that foundation. And it's perfectly fine, because one should be cautious if a sinner or wrongdoer approaches them!!

    What I understood was that nuns were called "sisters" Why are they called mothers?

    • @AJKPenguin
      @AJKPenguin Місяць тому

      Some nuns are called Mothers, meaning they are the mentor of their community.
      You sometimes hear Mother Superior, for she is a Mother and Superior to the Sisters who aren't quite as far along in their vocation.
      That doesn't mean to say there aren't Sisters who have greater holiness and insight into Christ than their Mothers. Yet the Mother can help guide her children and be inspired by them when they have something wonderful to contribute.

    • @DominicMazoch
      @DominicMazoch Місяць тому +1

      In the Eastern Rites, Mother is used for an enclosed nun or hermitess.
      Kinda like calling an enclosed Benedictine nun in the UK a Dame.
