- Hello Singderellos,
In this video, I react for the first time to Canadian singer Marc Martel performing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". In this video, I analyse his amazing performance, explain and demonstrate his vocal techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great.
This is an absolutely outstanding performance, incredibly reminiscent of Freddie Mercury. Queen is one of the most relevant bands in England (and in the world). Marc did a tremendous job of honouring Queen and Freddie's legacy! I truly truly enjoyed this video!

Hello there. Can you check Mercurotti!?Im sure you'll have some fun🎉
You really don't _HAVE TO_ close your eyes b/c Marc looks amazingly like Freddie too. It's almost like Christine Taylor playing Marcia Brady in the Brady Bunch movie. The resemblances are uncanny. If you stuck a mustache and some protruding front teeth on Marc.... _BAM!!!_ Freddie Mercury!!
"Barbaric level of talent" belongs in a book of famous quotations.

I loved ur reaction on this, u must react to marc martel who wants to live forever, oh the raspness it kills me...
Marc went to my high school, a few grades below me. Even back in the day, you could see & hear that there was something extraordinary with him.
How cool that must be to look back now and know you were a small part of his life!
That’s cool!!!
The scary thing is, he isn’t trying to sound like a replica. His voice and his playing is all him. Even the mannerisms is very much like Freddie. He nails everything from the extended vibratos to accentuate those long notes. Truly a talent and a master of his craft
I think he plays more into it when singing queen songs.
The fact he even plays the piano like Freddy does is damn scary.
They were both classically trained.
Freakiest shit I've ever seen
I think Marc is actually a better pianist than Freddie. Vocally, he’s pretty much identical. Calling Marc an imitator would be an insult to how accurate he is and how goddamn hard it is to pull off what Freddie’s music requires.
His stage presence falls short, though (I’d kill to see his stage show, though!) and while this version probably beats the pants off of any solo version Freddie could have done, the big difference is that Marc couldn’t have written the song. No one could have.
You should add to the check out rotation his cover of Who Wants to Live Forever.
Congratulations on the plaque! 👍
Marc Martell is amazing! (kinda looks like superman henry cavill too... 😉)
I love that most of the singing in the Queen movie was done with master tapes of Freddy and new recordings by Marc.
Please, please, please react to Marc Martel performing Nessun Dorma as both Pavarotti AND Freddie Mercury (search for Marc Martel Mercurotti). It is one of the most magnificent things you will ever hear!
I love her fangirlng. Its just adorble :3 and how she almoust hug herself because of how worm and perfect this performance is
There's been a lot of vocal coach reactions to this, but yours is not only the most entertaining, it's genuinely the most informative.
Marc Martel is actually very well known for his likeness to Freddie. He even contributed to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
“Martel contributed vocal recordings for the Queen biographical film, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018).[16] Film producer Graham King confirmed that Marc Martel recorded vocals for the film in Rolling Stone article:
Most singing scenes in the movie rely on either vocal stems from Queen master tapes or new recordings by Marc Martel, a Canadian Christian rock singer whose voice is practically identical to the late frontman's.
‘Literally, you could close your eyes and it's Freddie," says King. "And that's a very tough thing to do.’”
Marc Martel makes me wonder if Freddie Mercury was visiting Canada in February 1976, nine months before Marc was born. :)
I know Queen did some concerts there in 1977.
JESUS that's definitely a orgasmic appraisal if I ever heard! A true Freddie aficionado!
His cover of "Don't stop me now" is AMAZING...
I met Marc in a starbucks in Mexico....during his Tour performing Queen Music ...he is a very humble and approachable person, he deserves all the success in the world for being such a great artist!
Reaction !👍😍 Marc ! 👍❤❤❤
Wow!! Freddie has haunted this mans soul.
Make this man a billionaire well done sir I salute you🙏
Next Marc some body to love
The first time I watched this I fully expected to absolutely hate it. I had never heard a cover of a queen song that didn’t make me sad. This was the first and last that I thoroughly enjoyed and have listened to multiple times.
The swearing late on is the best compliment ever. I did the same! Oooooft.
I think Freddie would smile. He'd be happy that people paid to see someone who sounded a lot like him and thats why they are there.
Even his facial structure, jaw and mouth are much like Freddie’s. Makes a difference as well!
This Canadian gem Marc Martel not only has his own Queen tribute band, but he also did the voice over for the Freddy vocals for Rami Malek who as we know played Freddy in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. The singing actually came from Mr Martel.
Marc has no equal. Thanks for reacting to this performance.
You'd have a blast reacting to Marc Martel's Mercurotti...
“A barbaric quantity of talent” perfect description!
Great. Marc is hot. Please see Who Wants to live forever.
He was Freddies singing voice in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody
His rendition of Killer Queen is literal *CHEF KISS*!!! Please react!! 🙏🏼
But for your review, I would never think to listen to Marc. What a find. A genius reviewed by a genius.
He is a beautiful talent.
He did some of the singing in the movie .
Oh, I was so excited to see this with the very talented Marc! I was fortunate enough to see him perform in Charlotte, NC way back in the early 2000s when he was in a Christian band called Downhere. They did a little bit of We Will Rock You at the beginning of their concert and I was blown away by Marc's likeness to Freddie's voice. Glad to see he's still around and singing strongly. 🙂
❤
Bravo !!!!
thanks for enjoying marc with us...& thank you for your sweet, sweet, sweeeeet self & remember my little wee baby boy. seriously, that was the nicest thing i've heard inna while.
here's to humans being humane to other humans! :)
FYI. He’s a complete natural. Never had voice training.
Excellent Performance SMILES. Falsetto and Full voice is just so beautiful. SPACESHIP 🚀 TO THE MOON 🌙. Holy S***! Wonderful!
Thank you
I commented the first time I came across this channel that finally someone who really knows her stuff is commenting on vocals. She is all class.
His guitar work on his Freedom 90 is just as phenomenal.
So adorable!!! big hugs from Santiago Chile 🥰
This is one of the few covers I have really liked.
you need to watch the video of him singing "Who want to live forever" just brilliant
Agreed it’s heart wrenching
Hi The Fairy Voice Mother your greatest reaction bring me to your Channel. now I'm a new subscriber,
I hope you don't mind if l ask you to react to a Filipino girl group sings ‘BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER’ (SO HYANG VERSION) by 4TH IMPACT Sincere thanks.
I'll put the link here: ua-cam.com/video/sfdyk8Sa_Ys/v-deo.html
He does a cover of Hallelujah from Jeff on his channel. He is astounding.
Marc Martel is a musical genius.. You’ll love Love of my life, Who wants to live forever, Mercaroti and I think you’ll really appreciate his cover of Dolly Partons I will always love you.
He also did a fantastic cover of George Michael's Freedom! '90
Also cool that he was a vocalist in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie.
He was the voice double for Remi Malik. Alot of the singing in the movie is Marc.
@@randywissler9923 actually it was a mix of freddie and Marc. but u cant tell where
I wanted to hate this, because I love FM so much, but...Holy buckets!!! Amazing!
This is just marvellous. Thanks so much.
Lolli. It will be a million. It's just a matter of time. You're the best out there.
OH mfg ... 😭😭😭😭 CHILLS galore 😎 your reaction... priceless 😎
Wow, that was incredible.
Almost as incredible as your analysis.
You are SO LOVELY 💜
Freddie did the bottom lip thing too... And the top lip expansion or wrap
I've never seen someone who looks like they're in literal pleasure hearing someone sing. Her eyes are lit up listening to this great tribute to an amazing and unique singer that was Freddie
PS I think if Mark met her he'd better do it in public or have a security guard nearby......😉🤣
You should react to his cover of Killer Queen, there is a really nice treat in there, which I won't give away ;-)
As a huge Queen fan, Marc's performance was a bravura tour de force. Simply amazing.
I've seen a couple of interviews with Marc. He does chalk up some of his likeness to Freddie because of having a similar nasal structure. And if you look, his face is a bit like Freddie's.
He sang parts in the movie BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. He is also was the lead in the band Queen Extravaganza. Loved his audition video for that position. He was chosen by Roger and Brian.
I enjoy watching your reaction as much as the actual performance.
Fairy Voice Mother - at the beginning you looked like you would float out of your chair toward the ceiling, because you liked it so much.
I really don't think I've seen ANYBODY enjoy Marc so much!! Well except me of course 😉😂 You are so genuine! Thank you for this!
Congrats!!!
Please, Fairy Voice Mother, may I have some more... vibrato pudding?
🥰 😉 And to think, not having heard of Marc, I almost skipped on this one. So glad I didn't. Amazing vocalist and delightful reaction as ever. 💞🧚♀️
Ahhh hehe you’re so lovely Michelle 💜
Delicate, smooth vocals…..and then 🤘🕊❤️
Love your reaction!
Marc is a true musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist beyond being a fantastic vocalist.
Holy snap! That was really insane! Agree 1000% Rock on Marc! 🤘
Is this real what i am witnessing ?? Is this absolutely him singing or miming. He is not only sounds like FM but he sounds like the entire Queen. Outstanding performance.
ALSO, great reaction tooooo ☺️
He is a member of Queen Extravaganza band. And yes, he is not in Queen because of Bryan. He dont want other FM, so they choose to get that s**t....
Pleaseeee more Marc Martel lol h e is great. Love youre comments. Greetz from Holland
He is brilliant, I’ve loved this version for a few years!
Heard Marc years ago when he was with the band Down Here. It was obvious that he is an amazing talent.
I saw him live last week and it was amazing !
Yes, I’m a year late.
First, some context. I’m relatively old, and not ashamed of it.
In 1977, Queen released their “News of the World” album. The songs “We will Rock You & We Are the Champions” resonated with me, especially as I was a regular at the local roller skating rink (It was a thing at the time. No one had cell phones or computers or even DVDs, or god forbid, VCRs.) At the time, Queen ruled. Then came Rush, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, etc.
I saw Queen play in the Waldbühne in West Berlin in 1986, on the Magic tour. It was an accident. I had lost interest in Queen long before. I was in the Army the time, and a good friend of mine had to go to a promotion board the day after the concert. He graciously gave me his ticket, and it was one of the top three best concerts I have ever seen. Freddie was amazing. Made me a Queen fan for life.
Now onto your analysis of Marc Martel.
I don’t think I have ever seen an artist, encapsulate a performance of a different artist (well, to be honest, a whole band) as well as he did. He doesn’t have Freddie’s range up top, but I have never heard anyone do a rendition of this song that sounds anywhere close.
I love Rami Malek as an actor, and I don’t know if Marc can act, but I think based on physical appearance and his ability to completely inhabit the spirit of Freddie Mercury, Marc would have been a better choice for the role.
I guess hindsight is 20/20.
Now onto a related but completely different subject. I watch a number of reaction channels, several of which are vocal coaches. You, young lady, are the epitome. You offer very intelligent commentary, you know your shit, you’re funny as hell, and you’re easy on the eyes (sorry, I do not mean to be a typical male ass-hole, just speaking the truth)
Keep up the great work!
Can’t agree more with you, mate! Do you know it is Martel who dubbed Freddie’s vocals in the movie?
BTW You are right, Marc can’t reach Freddie’s highest note (D#/Eb6). His highest I heard is C6 so far, but keeps extending! His lower range is 3 semitones below Fred’s. Fascinating that even in range they are very similar. I mean… a lot of serendipitous resemblance! Both are stellar all-around talents though! Wow!
IMO Freddie deserves to be honoured by such a fantastic consummate musician as Marc! What a brilliant match!
You should check out him and his buddies doing under pressure. Dude sounds exactly like David Bowie
Those buddies are his band members, and they tour the world.
He made Celine Dion shed a tear during a live performance of Somebody to Love. She was in an interview talking and she's a big fan of Freddy, then they talked about that she also likes good imitations and that she saw this guy once, and she remembered his name (Marc Martel). Then he shows up playing. You can find it on youtube (the singing anyways, the interview part you might find by googling it).
She was asked who she wanted on the show, and she said Marc.
Loli, love you and your reactions so much! ❤From Russia with love! ❤🎉
Your reaction is priceless.. I can watch you talk the whole day 😅
I'm not embarrassed to say I think I watch every single reaction to Marc's videos! It's nice to finally see someone reacting to his faces like I do! The excitement! While I am assuming yours is based on the positioning for the musical performance, mine is well, it's just sexy??? Is that weird? Music is life. When it's someone like Marc who seems insanely talented in any genre he sings and seems to enjoy performing as much as I enjoy listening/watching (have seen him live as well), it's amazing. When I see a reaction so animated as yours, it makes it all the better! First time seeing your channel and loved every second of it!!!
Wow! In certain parts I could not tell if this was not Freddie.. And loved your reaction, you are the best!
Marc’s been playing piano since he was 6 years old, so the years of experience really showcases his musicianship.
Plus I liked your comment about him being a humble guy cause he really is.🤗
Correction: Jeff Buckley "was" your favorite. Just keep watching Marc. He is remarkable. And great reacting!
This guy is fantastic, thank you for doing this one. Marc, Freddie would approve well done.
I saw this a while back and he knocked my socks off!! He reminds of a cross between Freddie and Elon Musk lol, fantastic analyses Lolli
I haven't heard his performance of BH, but I remember seeing some of his videos from quite a while back. Incidentally, the high "for me" in the original was actually sung not by Freddie, but by Roger Taylor, Queen's drummer. I can see Freddie singing using the same stylistic choices as Marc.
The song I have heard was his version of "Someone To Love" which used a backing track and I believe that was the clip that the Internet kind of discovered him with.
You are the cutest thing in the world. Live your natural adorable reactions. Im a fan
Marc's versions of "Love of my Life" are next level
Ooh. This was so much fun.
You are amazing and such a joy to watch. Thank you for reviewing a fellow Canadian. He is brilliant. I really enjoyed this video.
The editing and overall production value of this channel is outstanding. I’m literally binge watching these vids. 👏
How do you not have 500k subs by now?!
Soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew it would be good. Marc is incredible and your reaction is awesome. Love how excited you get, it's very inspiring and your energy is infectious. Congrats on the ▶️ button, so very deserved. We aren't going anywhere!! Luvs ya ☮️💟
You should react to Love of my Life by Marc Martel. This will be absolute beauty
I love everything about Marc Martel’s version of the greatest song of all time!
I don't know what I love more, his vocal range or his piano playing. Simply amazing!
Marc is a vocal beast
Awesome!
Barbaric quantity of talent! Indeed! Marc is definitely an awesome talent and I agree with other comments on here... not sure if I have seen anyone enjoy Marc quite as much as you! :D I'm fairly new to your channel (reaction to Hi Ren hooked me). You make me smile because you remind me of my wife when it snows... she just turns into a 6yr old girl again x
