Perfect for economy housing and can be made any size. Everyone can afford housing like this. congrats on the win btw
Excellent video . What a Guy ! While recording this video You went and beat somebody up, and returned to finish the video, wonderful ! Respect.......Joshua Seven Thunders///////
+Ivan Quin haha thanks buddy! Just happened that way! =)
the world in moderate climates should start using Bamboo instead of plywood to build houses it will be more eco friendly for the enviroment.
I agree.
Brian Crossfit completely agree
Thatch roofing in the Philippines is made of a palm tree leaf called Nipa that grows in swamps. We do not use any resin waterproofing. It is naturally waterproof if constructed right and thick/
Damn man i wish i can build one like this for myself it's so authentic ,like a charm and peaceful place to chill
But how do they live without the stress of a thirty year mortgage.
Ron west it's hard I know!
Ron West, hahaha. Those poor souls don't know what they're missing.
Ron West lmaoooo
Douglas Herr 🤣🤣💀
I think you're amazing, I love what's you're doing here
HI JONNEY.....NICE WORK I LIVE IN A HUT SIMILER TO YOURS IN THAILAND.
BUT IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY IT S SO COLD AND MIGHT WISH SOME CONCREET BRICKS HUT.....
I agree that there is zero insulation and it can get cold during December and January, but that's what blankets are for =) And the other 10 months it is perfect. =)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I wonder if I'd be able to make a simple bamboo camper - converted from my open utility trailer??? Blessings!
That's insane why is there homelessness when you can build a bamboo hut six hours?
I would love to have a bamboo concrete hemp house
hi , dear sir....so nice video and i'm very happy see this video....i will meet u very soon....i.m india in delhi city.
Good video, I believe I'll try and build one.. Thanks
How can these bamboo housing be strong enough during hurricane season?
Please make a plan set for this! I would buy it :) Looking to make a bamboo hut in my garden (Hawaii).
Why do they like to say your australian for marketing?
Haha no idea, maye Aussies create a bigger draw? =)
Bamboo grows every where. I wish someone can start a bamboo building construction school in Texas.
I can definitely see these bamboo construction huts doing well in places like Austin, Texas!
you should visit Bali
Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this. How do I contact these builders if I wanted a bamboo house for myself?
how does it call the divice to cut the bamboo for the flor??
Not sure what the device is called, it almost looks like the same one for cutting oranges but for bamboo =0
bamboo splitter. No joke :)
Also, thanks Johnny for the video.
In Thailand, Sometime it's called "Cham-pa". The name is from a flower "Michelia champaca" That's look (Not very much) like it.
This tool work in the same way like bamboo splitter machine, but using man power instead.
bamboo juicer?
How much does one of these cost in USA dollars?
How much does it cost to build one in Thailand?
Someone said bamboo would have to replaced often. I've heard its stronger than wood. I think if its kept relatively free of moisture it ought to last as long as wood. Another video says to soak it in boric acid for 3 mo. Of course, here we are dealing with a tropical climate which would be constantly moist and damp with numerous fungus's etc. If painted with oil paint or some other products I think it should last a long time.
God damn son! 6 hrs??! 😱😱 that is insane!! Wow! My respects to those folks👏👏 also love the name “Phuket top team” sounds like “fuck it! I’ll know I this dude out!” 👍🏼
Not sure if you are still in Thailand... but I'm in Pattaya and interested in having a Bamboo tiki bar built. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time finding a builder.
If you are still around, can you recommend a builder?
The roof shingles (thatching) is a brackish water palm called Nippa (Latin) and Jak (Thai). BTW, bamboo definitely splinters. :-)
Nice video!
labor laws are lax there because not everyone is sue happy like they are here in the states. People complain about losing their freedoms but then turn right around and do things that take them away from us. Blessings to you and yours! Thank you again for sharing this info with us. You are very detailed and truly sharing - not like so many people that hold back the important info. Can you tell me please how long the bamboo lasts? Thank you.
I think I remember you. Did you used to go to Polly Ann ice cream in Sunset?
+fasting chick hey yup! I worked there from when I was 15-18. Who is this?
+Johnny FD Omg, it is you!!!! Holy crap! you changed! You seem totally different.
fasting chick Life changes quick! Plus that was like 18 years ago =) Do me a favor and message me on facebook: facebook.com/johnnyfdk
Very interesting video. Thank you for uploading
thanks for sharing. I justmoved to a place where there's a bamboo forest and was going to try and make a meditation/guest hut. Know where I can find one of those 'juicer' looking tools in the US?
Ben Capps hey Ben, that's awesome that there's a bamboo forest near you. No idea where to get one of those juicer, bamboo splitting tools in the US but hopefully someone reading this comment can chime in.
First of all bamboo is a grass not a wood product so obviously it cannot be considered deforestation. Id be scared to meet the giant grasshopper that living in the prehistoric bamboo grass fields
Good job How much does a small bamboo hut with a deck windows delivered to Prachinburi and built on my land in Kabinburi cos?
very very nice video and presentation! thanks!
Hi jhonny. Fan from Sri Lanka. Just finished watching all of your videos
wow, this was really amazing and interesting to watch :D But you never said why you were living there? Do you have your own business there or are you over there from the US to box (contract?) Just curious
Hi, glad you liked the video. I was living at the gym pursuing my dream of training and competing. I'm actually still in Thailand now and document it all on my blog JohnnyFD.com
You should welcome tourists ! make some of those small houses for tourists.
Mahalos for sharing this. I really enjoyed it. I build with bamboo here, but my style is a bit different. I really dig how fast they went up. I day!!!! Mahalo!!
Glad you enjoyed it, that's really cool that you are building with Bamboo over in Hawaii. I also thought it was cool how fast these went up!
Was it easy to get a permit for building with bamboo in Hawaii? Mahalo
possible solution for Oahu's homeless population
Johhny Sins, my man! greetings from Turkey. say hi to Engin.
Your lucky to have a free house 🏠 and free land very lucky 🍀
Loved it! I have been to Thailand and Laos, with my husband and 2 children, We stayed mostly in the Bamboos huts, cheap clean and no hustle! Especially kept us away from many tourists, with the taste of more popular areas so we did spend time with the locals and made very good friends! Thank you for sharing this!
Happy to share, and I'm glad you got to spend time staying in them and enjoying real Thailand!
I live in Arkansas, and our bamboo grows like crazy in the yard. I want to build a shed with it. I agree with others. Why don't we grow more bamboo for housing? It grows like weeds. I have to kill some of the buds that come up during the spring and fall or it becomes invasive. They grow quickly too.
It's crazy how fast it grows and it's such a good material. We should all be building with it. I agree.
Can't wait for this month's profit and loss statement
You said about no shoes no helmets, definitely Not the U.S.A.. They say we live in a free country but we're regulated in everything. To build one of those things here you'd need licenses, permits, ect ect.....
Nice.
Can I purchase it in India? What is the price ?
Johnny
Thank you for a great video. I've been looking at them all night and your's is the best one. It gives you a sense of how to build one that is easy to follow. You look like an unbeatable boxer to me with a great attitude so you have my vote any day !!!
Take care and thank you again !
+william tell really glad you enjoyed the video William! Thanks for the comment as well =)
6 hours for like, 6 people to make 9x9 ft house 8 hours for me to make 60x40 inch hut xD
Bamboo isn't wood. It's actually grass. :) also down side is that you'll have to replace it often. Adding to that, they do have splinters, or slivers I mean.
I like the fact that you're well up off the ground. The thought of sharing your bed with unwelcome house guests gives me the creeps. I know an Indian bloke who has just accepted that he will always have a cobra in residence under the floor, and (he said), you just need to be careful when you step outside!
doubtful. Earthbag construction is the future because you can find polybags everywhere and they can be built in some of the poorest places in the world with a few folks.
A real informative video, like someone said before, a lot of such videos are unclear. Is that an Irish accent?
that roofing looks like nipa palm but its very sustainable
awesome... Gives me ideas of doing something similar in the South Pacific...
i love this video and would like to design complex structures with this.any ideas
You are slim ahahahah
awesome video dude, thanks for sharing this! greetings from Argentina
How much doed this type of bamboo. house cost to construct?
I have about 2 acres with 3 different sizes of bamboo. I would love to build something with it, but I have no knowledge about bamboo work. Where could I find the splitters? Is there just 2 of them? One for floor and 1 for lacing? I can't kill this bamboo, so I would love to make something or market it. Please help!
Where are you from? Maybe someone in your city can help =)
I love the diversity of your vloggs and congrats on the fight, well done my man!!
Wow very nice
Hey there! Nice examples. I'm interested in building such structures in NE Thailand. Where can I get more info on materials and builders? Cheap is the word for me!
Thanks.
Sam
Hey Sam, if you're already in Thailand I would ask a local. I'd have no idea otherwise.
how much would it cost building just one of these? can this house be moved?
Hey Bibi, I don't remember off the top of my head but it was less than $1,000. And yes then can be moved or taken apart and moved as well.
***** Holy moly, only $1000!! Wow, that's awesome. How much is land there though?
What about mosquitoes netting or screens?
Nice , did they treat the bamboo again termites?
I just realized by watching this video that I was in my place lounge sports bar in Chiang Mai and there was a few guys talking about you wondering if you were going to show up to watch the Mcgregor fight. Small world, I didn't put two and two together until I watched this video and noticed you used to train in top team.
+Dario Alexander oh hey that's funny! I was actually down on Koh Lanta during the last McGregor fight so I watched it down here =)
Johnny, excellent video, thank you. I will be in Thailand, and all of SEA, this summer. Are there any workshops I could learn to build these huts? I need that in my life! I realize this was some time ago, and you may have moved on. Thanks man
+Zach Davis hey glad you liked the video! Not sure of any workshops, although that would be a fantastic idea if someone wanted to put that together!
very informative and entertaining. I watched it again and again.
Wow! No Grills on the windows! That`s impossible in the Philippines ... Great video! Thanks!
Yup I love how safe it is in Thailand.
Great video! Can I ask you how much one of these bamboo huts cost in baht?
I have land in khon kaen. Would like one of of these bungalows until I can afford a concrete build.
Cheers,
Paul.
Hey PM contact the guys over at Phuket Top Team and ask who they used. I remember it being around 30,000 baht or less =)
Ummmmm.....ahhh...hmmmm.
Just joking. I know it's not your first language. I can only imagine what that sound like if I was trying to speak Taiwanese. Great video, and those hunts or pretty freaking awesome! I would totally live in one! Thanks a lot
How much did your hut cost?
cool video, much appreciated
I love that splitter. Ingenius method with the cent out cutting. I made a fence for a garden and slip with a chisel.
+RedMetalic RobotDemon I thought so too!
Amazing video,very inspiring.
Youre living in paradise man!
Great Video Johnny. Did you happen to mention how much it cost to build each Hut? USD currency if you know? Thanx in advance.
Anxcnt Awaken hey Anxcnt I don't remember exactly but I think it was somewhere between $600-$1,000
Thanx alot, and i hope you continue to have a safe and victorious career in fighting.
Thank you for sharing.
Hi, may I know what is the material used for window and roof?
It's just called Thatching, but sure what type specifically.
You sound like Elon Musk, without the stuttering of course. Lol
That would be a huge compliment =)
