So, the PRIMARY (there are some others) authors of IFR approach charts are Jeppesen and the FAA's online library which can also be purchased at just about any pilot store. The FAA charts can be downloaded on the FAA's publication website. Thanks for watching the AeroCast!!
riddle pilots always giving UND shit, i dont see why, this guy in the video is very knowledgable and explains everything VERY clearly, great video dude, keep it up.
You are correct, those are not Jeppesen charts. Jepp charts are an excellent product and I agree, as do many pilots, that they are the superior product for terminal IFR charting. However, many pilots use FAA charts because they are free online and are otherwise very cheap if you buy a booklet of them for your area. The video uses those FAA charts because so many pilots use them in their day-to-day flying.
@thedreamliner2012 It is kind of the more 'old school' method for simulating IFR in the airplane vs newer devices like "foggles" etc. Its tried and true though, and does a great job limiting the student's view to just the instrument panel. In fact, if worn properly, it really does a good job limiting your periphery as well. Its as close as you can get to 'actual' when there's no cloud to be found.
I hate flying into Spokane. They'd never give me the time of day and would always get extremely irritated with me. oh well thats what you get being a student pilot flying a C-152.
In my class we only have one female student pilot. Why??? But I am glad to watch this video, coz I can see female pilot flies the air-plane. Congratulation to you..
Thanks and it's great to see a good basic explanation on the IFR approach overview.

These videos are great. You might want to check out this iPad cable that will connect X-Plane to your foreflight or garmin pilot application.

Thank you, I learn a lot in this videos, i love you
Have you guys made a VOR-A approach video? I'm doing one on Sunday at KORE (Orange, MA) and need some pointers!
@undaerocast Cool. That makes sense. Thanks for the quick feedback :)
G1000 + Autopilot making life sooooooo much easier than using traditional analog instruments
This is what I needed! THANKS!!!
This is all very good, but the loud beating music does not help serious thought about the subject. You don't need to be hip to be real.
What exactly does the large visor accomplish? I realize it limits your vision, but how much?
I'm assuming it's because it gets very sunny up there
Yuvika Purushothaman No, it‘s to imitate IMC.
6:34 I thought that was my doorbell!

Forgot to mention the TLA ....three letter acronym
Happy you say she

Flaps setting is 10 knots eh. All kidding aside this was a great video lol.
I start flight school next year, I'll never get all this shit.
+gnrcrueratt So, you started already? How are you handeling it?
+gnrcrueratt yes u can nothing is impossible unless u make it my friend, be positive be positive .
Who is this "She" you keep referring to? :S
This guy sounds like Will Ferrell...
Far to much crap at the beginning of the video
Probably because a video production student had to use all of the toys, er-tools, they had at the time.
Seriously a lot of workload.
The continuous over-politically-correct referral to female pilots is extremely irritating.
whenever "SHE" is flying... bleh. corny UND politically correct. I couldn't finish the video
Yeah, right?
Female pilots, Crange.
