Always exciting to see a new video posted, they never disappoint! It appears you probably have one of the collections of saws in your dojo of any carver on youtube. That in mind, I live at the end of a dead end street but do have neighbors across the way. They are great people and I try to keep them in mind when I go out to my carving area to work. I only have gas saws at this point and will not fire them up until after 8am out of respect for others. However, I am a early riser and try to fill the time I have before I can carve either doing some finish work on something I have previously carved or doing general maintenance on my saws or cleaning up from the previous carving session. The moral behind all of this is I am thinking about investing in an electric saw as they seem to be a popular choice for many carvers and I am hoping the noise levels might give me the ability to start a bit sooner in the day. So, if you could recommend just one Stihl model for a guy that will probably put on a 12" dime time and will use it for shaping and detailing, what would be your recommendation?

Thanks for watching. I would recommend the MSA 220 with a Tsumura 12 inch .043 bar and chain set up. Get the quick charger and two batteries. Don't skimp on the batteries get the AP 300 they are close to $300 a piece but worth it.

I am a new carver. Last fall sometime. I have probably seen most of your videos and seem to spend the majority of time trying to carve versions of that incredible hair style and wood spirits. (My wife Deanna is also very entertained by your videos) I am close enough to 70 that I can almost reach out and touch it so I have a request, Jeez I never do this but here goes; I would very much appreciate a very small portion of a video, it would be nice, if you could talk a little more about the ergonomics ahh big word you know how to stand, elbows in etc. Thanks Malcolm From Alberta Canada.
