How to do the FASTEST FLIP in Rocket League | Speed Flip Tutorial. It is finally time that I made a speed flip tutorial video. There are many great rocket league speedflip tutorial videos on the internet, Helical, the Musty kickoff one, but you guys have been asking me to make a rocket leauge speed flip tutorial. So here it is. A short little how to speed flip tutorial for those of you who have been struggling. Now I do just want to say that the information in this rocket league speed flip tutorial video will be the same as the information you find in every other rocket league speed flip tutorial, but I tried to make mine as simple and short as possible. As to the point as I could make it. My rocket league tips and rocket league tutorial videos in the past have tended to drag on a tiny bit from time to time, and so today with the rocket league speed flip tutorial, I decided to change it up and just go with a short little tips video. Hope you enjoy!
You can use the speed flip for just moving around the field, but can also use the speed flip as the speed flip kickoff. So as well as this being a whole speed flip tutorial, you can use the same information to train your speed flip kickoffs! 2 for 1 deal on this video!

one thing I noticed you forgot to mention is that before jumping you’re actually moving the stick opposite the direction you plan to diagonally flip

Ye 'coz the dumb youtubers are not sharing their entire control settings as well, like, what do you do with air roll left/right keys? Do you just forget about those and roll in the air with air roll + left joystick? Right now I can just cancel flip and that's it, I have no idea how to get back on my wheels and keep rolling...
Hey you know how there’s a controller on the screen? If I don’t mention air roll left or air roll right then chances are I’m not using them, but you can also see exactly what buttons I’m pressing and when If you look at the controller, and if you don’t know my button layout, all it takes is going to the description and finding the video there so you can see what each button does instead of me having to say what every button does every single video.

Thanks much for talking through the "what is going on during the flip cancel and why that makes this the fastest flip". That's the little explanation detail that makes all the difference for us to visualize how to know when we're doing it right vs wrong

Some tips I learned from failing this for a long time:
- Make sure your cancel (pulling down) is very "clean" and not too much to the side and fast enough
- I like to "move my stick to do the very straight diagonal > THEN press jump twice > then cancel" instead of "jump > stick to do a diagonal > jump again > cancel" - It makes my speedflip a LOT more consistent. I do hold drift just before starting this motion, as otherwise this would make you loose a tiny bit of speed.
Everything else was said in the video. I've struggled a lot with the speedflip - maybe this will help someone.

How do you go about counter steering? I’ve seen a lot of people say that turning on the ground loses speed. It seems like most people use that first initial jump to turn slightly in the air then diagonal dodge

As a diamond 3 hard stuck with over 800 in game hours, I actually learned speedflip after coming back to this video for the second time almost a year later. I appreciate you my boy.

I started learning the speedflip when I was silver 2. It took me about 6 months to learn and when I finally was able to do it consitantly I was diamond 1, but I'm glad that I learned it because it is the most usefull mechanic for boost managment.

The good thing, about Google hearing you is, that u get recommend videos u wanted to watch, but forgot. I mean I said to my friend I need to learn the speed flip, but forgot it. Now this vid is in my recommendation :)
EVERYONE:
This is the way most people have learned the speedflip, but for a lot of new learners it’s very hard to get down. Recently I think I found a new way to speedflip and I’m not sure why not everyone does it.
the problem most people have at first is not getting a perfect cancel, but instead of doing a diagonal cancel, the new method does a front flip cancel. The way this works is you have a bind for either air roll left or right. you have to be holding this from start to finish. unlike the other method, you can’t hold this right after flipping, but rather it’s better to hold it even before jumping, while holding air roll right or left, do a simple front flip cancel and boom, speedflip. my friend has been trying to master the old technique for over a month and still can’t do it consistently. However, I showed him this method today and he genuinely did it first try and does all of his kickoffs this way now. you still need to be able to front flip cancel, but it’s extremely easy. in case my explanation didn’t make sense, there is only 2 components:
1. hold air roll right or left (your choice) from start to finish
2. Front flip cancel

@@robloxkid6662 After you cancel you need to hold powerslide to correct yourself while still in the air
Set the speed to .25 and watch when exactly he starts holding down air roll (L1/LB) and what exactly he is doing with the left stick. In all the videos I've watched, people tell you to hold the stick down while keeping air roll pressed, but what they are doing in fact is slowly moving the left stick from bottom-right to bottom-left. This being said, I only started training this flip now, but this is something I've realized is being done but never pointed out clearly
I had the same problem. The reason you are doing that is because you are flipping too much in the forward direction. Make your flip a little more diagonal. In other words make it closer to a side flip than what you are doing now. When they say “do a slight diagonal flip” it’s not as slight as you might think. Try going a little more sideways with your joystick and a little less up

Just a tip for people trying this. I've found that getting as clean of a landing following the flip tends to make it just a bit faster (having air roll and powerslide bound to the same button is super helpful). Also, you have to boost a little bit before flipping, and learning the timing of that just takes practice and muscle memory.
Also, I'm still not able to hit the kickoff in mustys training pack even though I can hit all of these. If anybody got any tips for that pls lmk.

THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING SLOW MOTION. Other tutorials I’ve watched lacked that completely and since I might as well be as old as Gandalf in the RL scene (29), the slow motion was incredibly helpful!

What I've found easier when speed flipping is, instead of holding diagonal on the left stick then flipping, is to actually hold air roll left or air roll right when performing a normal front flip. With this combination it gives you the perfect diagonal flip. All you have to do then is cancel and keep boosting
Hope it helps some of you guys, I managed to learn it within an 30 minutes once learning this way

@@kirko5246 Not sure if it is or isn't because I've never been able to do it the normal way but its definitely way faster than normal flipping. Managed to score quite a few kickoff goals, especially from the side spawns
It may be easier but it's less optimal. A "perfect" diagonal (one that is directly 45°) is less effective than a diagonal that is 90% forward and 10% to the side (roughly 10°). Honestly would call this a crutch and something that should only be used as a stepping stone.

1-4 feel easy in the training pack but I can't do 5 it's been over an hour. I'm so confused my inputs are the exact same as yours I watched it 20+ times but my car is just slightly off.
The last one feels exponentially harder for some reason

Anyone who after all the tips in the comments still can't complete all the shots in the training pack, try not holding "drive forward" while doing it. It took my a while to figure that one out, but that was the only thing i was doing wrong.

This was very helpful I got the move down very quickly with your help. I initially wanted to learn this exclusively for kickoffs but I’ve realized just how damn useful it is to get around fast for better rotations
First, I have ADD so it’s quite possible I tuned out and missed it but I don’t think you mentioned that once you pull straight down on the joystick you can help your car rotate by keeping the joystick down and rotating it slightly left or right depending on direction of quick flip/air roll. I just noticed it in the video and WOW that’s helping a ton. Nobody mentions that!!
Just make sure you rotate it *slightly* in the direction of the flip. If you go 90 degrees your not will be raised in the air too much
You make such great tutorials. Idk what it is but other RL UA-camrs make tutorials and I get confused, but your videos just make sense and I leave feeling like I learned something and have a place to start my training.

I’ve been trying to learn for a few months. Watched countless tutorials multiple times.
I would go into free play, try 50-100 times, get discouraged, then queue into drop shot 😂
I’ve practiced the training pack for FIVE minutes and am already infinitely more consistent.
One thing that helped me was looking at the ball and not my car. It was strange trying to line up a hit where I wasn’t exactly straight on (like most other ground hits)
Track the non-moving ball while you veer right, (assuming you’re doing a left side speed flip) and as you are about 15 degrees (non-coincidentally haha!) to the right, do your speed flip watching the ball the whole way.
Sounds so silly to explain but that’s what helped me conceptually.
I’ve been trying to speed flip for like 2 years now, i always skipped the practicing flip cancel part because i thought it was too easy, i just tried doing it and realised theres something wrong with my controller which is resulting in me not being able to flip cancel, i switched to a different controller and now i’ve realised i already knew exactly how to speedflip for all that time

hardest part for me is finding the perfect diagnol flip i usually push my stick too far to the side
If you have the directional dodge desdzone too high this could happen too, i think you can't go above .85
@@IfeelKindaSick very late reply, I had my dead zone at 0.85 until finding your reply to this guy. Dropped it to 0.8 and still couldn’t hit shot 5. Dropped to 0.75 which is what thanovic says his is in the description and hit it first try. Thank you very much for saying that

Quick thing if you’re using DS4 on PC - I couldn’t get this to work at all on there (or it would work very rarely). I switched to kbm momentarily to test it and was able to do it in a few tries.
Make sure to test kbm if you’re having issues bc you might just need a new controller (planning on making the switch to Xbox because this is the 2nd time I’ve had issues with PS4 controllers).
And flip canceling is also how people have faster half flips. No wonder I felt mine were slow. Thank you very much!

I completed the training pack apart from the last one. I just dodge too much to the left so I have to turn right a bit before I do it but it uses up my time so I can’t get there. How do I stay straight?
Same question. It seems like when I go straight my flip isn't pure, it's wobbly, but when it isn't wobbly I'm shooting off to the right or left.
If you don’t use a controller. Hold boost, flip while holding forward and air roll left, then quickly cancel the flip by holding reverse and turn left (you can also air roll and turn right), hold drift as you land to keep your momentum up. Hope this helps :).

So... when you show the speed flip full speed or slow mo, that wasn't as effective for me as when you were doing the mechanic without boosting, almost in place. I started there, like trying a tornado flip without moving. Thank you, speed flips are now mine!! (consistency no)
Great tutorial! I've almost got it, in the tutorial I can score on everything but the last one with some (Gold II anyway) consistency. My biggest problem is shown by the last shot in the tutorial: when my flip isn't wobbly off the y axis I'm going off to the right or left, but when I go straight I'm wobbling and the spin isn't pretty. Still fast, but does anyone have any tips for greater accuracy while not wobbling during the flip? Thanks!

I am at 4:30 in the video and I am already able to do it somewhat consistently, I have been trying to learn it for a while, but this is the first video that actually made sense to me. I am high rank and all that, but other videos just never explained the process as well as this video, at least not that I found
