  • We had the most epic day driving through the Cape Breton Highlands along the Cabot Trail, discovering some hidden gems and amazing viewpoints! We were in the northern part of the Cape Breton Highlands which is in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada.
We started off in an area between Neil’s Harbour and Dingwall at a beach called South Harbour. In the middle of the summer there was no one else on this absolutely stunning beach with soft white sand and warm water! We flew the drone to get better views.
Afterwards we drove up the road just a little bit to a place called White Point where we took a quick hike to enjoy the amazing views. We also met a bald eagle along the way! While here we flew the drone again for the most amazing views!
Our final destination for the day was Cheticamp and as we drove we enjoyed the most amazing views and also stopped at a well known restaurant called the Rusty Anchor for fish and chips.
Lastly we arrived in Cheticamp where we checked into our cute little AirBNB tiny home/shed for the night.

There ISN'T a non-scenic place to go in Canada! It's a huge, gorgeous, uncrowded nation. Perfect place for most Americans to make a "foreign" trip for the first time. Even in French culture and language oriented "QUEBEC" province.

Honeymooned in CANADA (Totonto, Montreal, Quebec City.) all by RAIL! "VIA" your national RR was FANTASTIC in late 80's compared to our TERRIBLE "AMTRACK" service down here in "the states". We were welcomed like family everywhere when we made it known we chose CANADA (Not the typical for the time period destination of most Americans, HAWAII!) for our HONEYMOON. It was a magical trip!

Hi watching this video again, I love it. When you were at that beautiful beach, south harbour and that gorgeous view with Shite point in the back ground. My parents were both born here and lived in Smelt Brook, you would have passed thru on your way to White point. I am one of those people would know where they are. And at White Point that little jut out is called stage Two Tittles, I think I have the right spelling. This area is my altimeter favourite places in the world. I live in Ontario, my Dad came here for work as many did back then. For the building of the seaway. Anyway just my little tidbits. I have been there so often snd never ever get tired of Cape Breton but. Am really enjoying your travels at the south part of Nova Scotia, where I have not been. Truly amazing. You both do a fantastic job at making people want to go.....nowwww lol. Wish we could. 👍🏻🤗💞

How did you access that beautiful beach? From the shore road or is there an access point off White Point road? If I can recall the cliffs are quite steep in that area! Enjoying your videos - Greetings from Labrador!

There's a path just off white point road where there is likely some cars around. You just walk through a bit of the woods and voila! The beach appears 😃 - Anna

Hey Bill.. so you head down White Point Road. There's a trail through the woods. If you're looking at Google Maps it's just at the bottom right of beach (hope that makes sense) - Trevor

Wow! That was a spectacular side of Cape Breton I had never seen, nor did I ever experience 90F (30C) there. The rocks and greenery were a combo of Ireland/Scotland, but the water and warm were more like Croatia or Greece. I assume you are based in Halifax (when not traveling). Is it convenient for world travel, or does everything connect thru Toronto? NS is my favorite Canadian province outside of BC, and the people are great. I was also quite a fan of "The Listener", whose star, Craig Olejnik (Toby), hails from NS. I have seen every episode, and still catch reruns. As Canadians, are you able to travel overseas much in 2020 (Americans are banned in Europe, e.g.)? I will definitely have to get directions before my next trip to Cape Breton, as these spots were wonderful, and no crowds. One side note, it is quite funny Anna does not like fish/seafood, being a native Nova Scotian. That haddock looked wonderful! Loved that Air bnb, too. Happy travels!
