    I'm so hyped!! I was googling a way to make my own maps without that much hope, I'm not an artist and I didn't want to spend any money. Thank you so much for making this video! I'm so psyched to make maps as easily as I would in RPGMaker!!

    Thanks for the job and effort you put in to your videos, you earned yourself a subscriber. I tend to want to do things myself, but it's not only very labor intensive and time consuming, but the result's does not always live up to the cost of the hours spent toiling away. Your videos have shown me A LOT of useful information that I might never found out, or at least it would have taken me many, many hours to do so, and the results might not have been as good as those that you have shown. Thanks, and please keep pumping out more videos.

    Cody, thank you SO much. This is going to pretty much revolutionize my use of Roll20. I am prepping my next arc of my Roll20 based campaign and I am certainly going to use this video's information to make all of my future maps at a much better level of quality. THANK YOU!!!!

    Wish I could like this video a hundred times. Fairly new to Roll20 but this is exactly what I've been looking for since I started! A million times easier than scouring the internet for exactly what you need or downloading and learning some third-party software.

    I would absolutely love to be able to use this, I think that my biggest problem with virtual tabletop games is the fact that I need to make a visual aid for some players, but I just can't get dungeon painter to export anything.

    Great video series! I am new to Roll20 so you have helped me tons but I am wondering with the rollable tables how you made your 8x8 sections into random shapes how do you set that up. Do I have to have those type of pieces in the rollable table before they can take that shape? Thanks again

    • @Taking20
      @Taking20  7 років тому

      Yup, just place them into a rollable table and then you can select your side once it has been sized up correctly. Glad you like the series!

  • @namydim
    @namydim 6 років тому

    Know a good dungeon painter for futuristic games such as Star Finder? I am also having trouble sizing the squares to match what Roll 20 has when I port it over so the map keeps coming out a little off square... the larger the map the larger the problem for me... advice on this?

  • @Benticore
    @Benticore 8 років тому

    I think you could also push your open corridors to the front since you know the openings will have no wall, right? This would force that Opening to be at the top, covering the wall.

    • @Taking20
      @Taking20  8 років тому +1

      Theoretically yes. You would need the tiles to overlay with each other to get that to work. I hope people realize they don't have to only use them in 8x8 configurations.

      @Benticore 8 років тому

      Oh! You're right! Great video on all accounts, Amigo! I'm running a Shipwrecked on a Tropical Island adventure with a couple friends and this will be perfect for some of the dungeons.

    Hi there! I have found your videos very helpful and it has made my life a lot easier while learning Roll20. I was watching this one and noticed I do not have the "Multi Sided" menu option shown at about 7:35 in your video. Is that something that isn't a free option or am I missing something. Thanks!

    • @darkseraph2009
      @darkseraph2009 6 років тому +3

      First you need to create a rollable table, and place each tile in the set as an item in the table with the same weight. Then, once you add a token from that rollable table, you can choose the multi-sided option and change which "side" is shown, e.g. which tile it'll use.

  • @scottalberts3366
    @scottalberts3366 5 років тому +1

    Seems I do not have the Multi-sided option. Do I need to pay for that tool?

    • @rathonsector3844
      @rathonsector3844 4 роки тому

      I have watched a ton of these videos and I don’t understand the multi sided table option.
      I made the hallways and 8x8 and the door opening. Does this mean I still have to make all the other shapes still?
      Even when I added those shapes I couldn’t get multi sided as an option when I made a table with the 8x8 and 2x8 hall.

    Try out Dungeon Painter Studio for another type of creator. Very similar to Pyromancer.

  • @Jamberite

    I know it's not a big deal, but aesthetically speaking, the extra shading when using the connector bothered me a little bit. This was a great video though and that would be an easy fix anyway in paint . net or photoshop/gimp so yeah.

    why not make the whole map in Pyromancer?

  • @Overlordgoreskull
    @Overlordgoreskull 7 років тому

    Is there any reason you would ever do this instead of just creating the map inside pyromancers and import the png?

    • @leif6534
      @leif6534 7 років тому

      Yeah, I use roll20, and have been looking for a way to create a set of tiles I can use to make different layouts. So I've made a set of like thirty or so tiles and I upload them all and put them in a folder. I can then drop them into the map and rotate them, rearrange them, etc. in any number of layouts. I can use the same "style" without having to even leave the Roll20 website.

      In a more recent video he mentions dungeon painter studio on steam.

  • @domni4699
    @domni4699 4 роки тому

    Idk if you still answer to these comments but I tried to speak with Pyro via steam but it won't let me create a account on steam to speak with him. So you're kinda my only option at this point with a lot of experience in this software. I tried to use the online version. However I can't actually finish a project because the assets never change. Let me explain, so say that im trying to make a simple house. Floor, walls, objects for the interior. I start with the floor, make the outside walls. Try to put a table in, and it's still stuck on the wall selection. Like it doesn't show me the object selection. Just the wall selection. It's getting so frustrating to the point where I want to break my laptop. And it's definitely not compelling me to by the paid version, if this is how the free version is. Please your help would be vital, I don't want to use the roll20 assets independently because... Well, we know how that is.

    • @domni4699
      @domni4699 4 роки тому

      You know what, forget it. Any save from this is formated as a .file type instead of a jpeg or PNG. That was my last straw. This software is utterly useless and not worth the time. Screw it. And i definitely won't be buying the paid version. Thank you for the video though, I still find your videos very informative and you give out great tips but screw this damn software, im over it.

    • @domni4699
      @domni4699 4 роки тому

      So I figured it out. When its time to save. Make the name and manually put .png, then I can use it. If I need to make some changes make a duplicate and save it as a .rdm file. 😤
