    Jim - I just tripped over your video. This brings new meaning to the phrase " Thinking outside of the Box "

    Toby, thanks for sharing. The whole video is showing your level of creativity. I really liked the compressed editing too=under 5mins. No dull moment. The music matches well with the action. Great jig to cut large radiuses. This is showing us how videos can be made interesting. Take care. Daniel

    I'm impressed with your creative use of the lathe. Nice setup with the left handed tool on the back side. You got a nice finish even though working by hand. Cool. I enjoyed the music! and the video editing. Well done.

    Nice work. Glad to see you putting out another machining video! I've seen rollers like those on bed frames before (of course those were cheap plastic ones). Hope to see more.

    Nice Job Toby, That was pretty close to the way I did that submarine view port that we looked at in the cabinet when you came up to pick up the box. Cheers, ;{)-------

    The set up, educated me.
    Would have liked some more on the radius tool.

    I wonder if this will work for a tighter radius? Thanks for sharing.

    • @111000100101001
      @111000100101001 2 роки тому

      Yes, the radius is dictated simply by the distance the tool cutting tip is from the compound pivot point.

    Like the centring technique. I want to make a whiskey glass in very much the same style but there needs to be four oval holes around it so will probably go CNC on this job. I like the soft lath jaws. are they your own adaptation or a commercially available item???

      Material type, rigidity of setup, and a negative rake insert to name a few reasons

    I get a kick out of watching guys work on a lathe with gloves on. He will then fit like hell to get a pension when a hand is ripped off.

  • @hyballs

    Amateurs and newbies take note: Wearing gloves is not a good idea when using a lathe.

    It"s amazing how many people post videos wearing gloves near a lathe. Unbelievably stupid and insane. If Your soft velvety hands can't handle the controls on a lathe or the occasional hot chip, then find something else to do with Your life.

    Nice video, except I am here to learn how to accomplish what you are doing. Not to listen to a music video. Knock off the music and replace it with voice explaining the set up, your tool and how you made it.
