I don't watch movies much but now I'm going to go and watch this movie. I have aspergers/autism and I was not diagnosed until 22 but I knew I was different. I'm 30 now and see myself as amazing and beautiful.
(non-native-English-speaker) I see me more like Elsa. Trying to be normal. With the panic of showing my "out control powers" in public. Isolating. Depressing. I just cried every time Elsa sang how she felt. (I even have that thing "oh ok I am not so sick" and a half-hour later I am just burning in fever) More she hides her power more out of control they became. She is completely the opposite of her sister. Anna is sociable, un-logical, and does what she wants without thinking what others will think. Elsa barely talk.
I am not Autistic, but I have my glitches:). My Learning Disabilities were looked upon as a huge glitch, but so is my anxiety in crisis situations like in our world over Covid-19. However, my anxiety is also keeping my Mom and I safe from Covid-19 because I think in every detail that we could get it, so I use that detail in cleaning as much as trying to prevent Covid-19 from happening!! Also, my Learning Disabilities taught me that we are so much more than academic grades and how each of us are valuable; how each of us has a unique way of thinking\learning about things:). My chronic physical pain and autoimmune problems are another "glitch", but if I did not suffer than I might not have the compassion from that suffering to know that health care is a human right!! So, I guess I too can relate to Vanellope Von Schweets:)!!! Thanks Chloe for this awesome video:)!! Different is really cool:)!! And I LOVE all your colorful, beautiful hair ribbons too:)!!!

Watching this video and crying becuase I've been feeling so down lately. I felt like I will never be happy and accepted becuase my glitches (and the anxiety of having them) hold me back. But now I feel like I've hit a light bulb moment. My autism is my superpower and I am just as worthy of love and happiness as anyone else. Gonna rewatch both movies today. Thank you ♡♡
Now this video has really made my day. Vanellope is probably my all time favourite Disney character despite being quite rare at some time. As I have autism too, I can definitely agree towards the fact that Vanellope is autistic too. We’re on the same boat here xxxx I absolutely love Vanellope, she’s my whole world

I would love to hear your opinions on Entrapta from the "She-ra and the Princesses of Power" (the modern Neflix series). Entrapta is my favorite character. She has a lot of character development and growth throughout the series, and after the series was over the character was announced to be canonically autistic.
One of my most recent blog posts was about whether Everest from Paw Patrol is autistic. I'm a 32 year-old man looking too deeply into a kids' TV character (I've got kids btw lol) so I get where you're coming from.

I've never even watched that movie and it touches me. I definitely know the feeling of being told what I can and can't do, and that I have something wrong with me, but knowing that there are murderous sadists who happen to be neurotypical, I don't take it as much to heart anymore. I just remember that their ignorant and like to think that they know how I think and what its like.

How old were you when you were diagnosed?

I’m in pretty much exactly the same boat rn (I’m 17). :) I know that this wasn’t directed towards me but I just wanted to say that you’re def not too old to be diagnosed- many (most?) autistic women are diagnosed in their late teens or even adulthood. It’s far from uncommon. And even if it was uncommon, it’s definitely still valid. I wish you well on your journey of self discovery!

Chloe I love ur personality and you , your so spunky and so positive about your autism and you are so beautiful, and I have autism too and I’ve struggled in school because some people just don’t understand people who are different and you have inspired me so much and you make me feel so happy and that autism is ok and fun And not weird or something to be ashamed of it’s something to embrace and feel positive in yourself, thank you for these videos. Two of my favorite animated characters are Vanellope and Amethyst. I can relate to how both of them can be strong even though people tell them that they were made wrong or that something is wrong with them.
