I'm twice Quinni's age (and also, you know, male) but I relate to her more than is probably healthy for a parasocial relationship with a fictional character.
There's a particular scene in Episode 4 where she's having a conversation in a bathroom with Harper and says she wishes she could be more "like a boss. Say and do whatever I want." Harper asks "why don't you?" and Quinni quietly says "They might stop liking me." And I'm like yes-- that. That is it. The constant internal battle between the need to be who you really are and the fear that failing to mask, "act normal," etc will drive people away. The terror that if people were to ever see and know the real you, they would reject you like all the others who rejected you before.
What makes this worse is that autism, like a lot of brain illnesses, is a vicious, insidious liar. It makes you believe that even people who love you don't really love YOU, they just think they love the mask. And it terrifies you into social isolation because of the certainty that people would just be annoyed by talking to you and would be happier if you just went away.
It's strange-- autism is a crappy disease in so many ways but one of the most effective treatments for it is just "being kind and including people," which you really ought to do anyway.

I absolutely adore Quinni, she is the best character ever and the best representation of autism I have ever seen. I love her with all my soul and I would literally take a bullet for her (if she was real). I identify so much with her that I'm gonna cry because no one has ever been so much like me in a series or movie like she is. Thank you so much for this video, I assure you that I will use it to dress up as her on Halloween, thank you so much
