Oscar de la Renta Spring 2019 Runway Show

Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia found inspiration for the Spring 2019 collection throughout their summer travels. Draped silhouettes and decorative fringing came from Garcia’s time in India, softer construction and exotic patterns from Kim’s trips to Como, Italy, Marrakech and Croatia. Imagery inspired by their summer sojourns can also be found in the collection’s silk road king print. Though the patchwork scarf material was sourced from a textile mill that archives the house’s fabrics and embroidered red florals were originally from a vintage ODLR show, this season saw further evolution of house signatures reflective of Kim and Garcia’s vision for the future.
