As someone who watches a lot of Pokémon content, this was refreshing to see. Usually, Poketubers are so familiar with the ins and outs of the games that there's no tension anymore-you just know they'll win easily because the games can be easy if you know how to work the system. Plus, Ryan's perspective felt so... childlike, with infectious enthusiasm. Just an absolute pleasure.
But pokemon youtubers make challenges for themselves to make the game interesting. I like Ryan, but he basically just swept the whole game with an overlevelled Bubba. I don't think it's fair to say it's easier for pokemon youtubers
How did the funny Penny guy somehow make an incredibly fun nuzlocke video that’s simultaneously a commentary on treasuring your childhood and the timelessness of Pokémon. Like, this is an honest work of art.
Even with all this fame, he still is as honest and genuine as ever, and he puts his time and effort to entertain us without taking shortcuts. Thank you Ryan, and keep up the great work. Also, I think you are my biological father (trust me bro)

Ryan is such a genius. Every day he switches his room, his outfit, and his life period during the challenge. For ex, the first day, he was a kid, the second day he was a teen, the last day he was an adult. Ryan is such a great content creator.
And of course the song being completed on the last day, with the paired accompaniment of him shutting off the lights and leaving the room, referencing the after of live.
The end was so emotional. I've grown so attached to these virtual creatures in just 30 minutes. It was heartbreaking when Quackboom fainted. I will never forget these 30 minutes of my life.

This nuzlocke was kind of like life. The way he changed his room throughout from childish to adult. This was a pretty awesome video.
Sussy bot
If Bubba had died, I would have lost it. It feels too personal now, I am invested. I have never been this seriously invested in a game someone else is playing, but this had me hooked! And all the names Ryan gave to his pokemon were so adorable.
before i clicked this, i thought to myself "i'm not finna watch this man play pokémon for 30mins". next thing i know, i'm yellin at the screen wen bubba's health dropped to 8😂. didn't even realize the time flew by, superb storytelling
RIP QUACKBOOM 😭
